      Women are about 50% weaker than men (upper body strength), so her doing 42 is the equivalent of a man doing 84. Of course, I'm not saying the standards should be changed, if you want to join the military you have to meet the physical demands of the job, just pointing out how much harder it is for women.

    • @mboiko
      @mboiko 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ahh, it helps that she is in great shape, unfortunately, the Army is now facing problems.
      "The United States Army is reportedly considering doing away with its new “gender-neutral physical test” after test results showed that the majority of women failed while approximately 90 percent of men passed. Officials are reportedly considering having different evaluation categories for men and women due to the physiological differences between the two.
      “Research showed that the Army Combat Fitness Test [ACFT], which is the same for male and female soldiers, was leading to lower results for women with a knock-on effect for promotions,” The Telegraph reported. “An early Pentagon study showed that women were failing the ACFT at a rate of 65 percent, while only 10 percent of men did.” March 2021

    • @matthirn7858
      @matthirn7858 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@mboiko I noticed when I went to my son's graduation from basic training that shorter women in excellent condition really performed quite well on the PT test, so there does seem to be some advantage to certain body types with the current test. My concern with altering the fitness test is that any alteration should be done to make the test a better predicter of performance in the current role of the typical soldier. From what I can see of the deployment of troops to the Middle East, the greatest combat demand is the carrying of gear in a backpack or duffle. Soldiers are carrying in excess of 80lbs. of gear for long periods of time if I understand correctly. This seems like a prescription for disaster to the average male back and an unmanageable task for the majority of women.

Horselover is saying that it’s not a big deal that she didn’t get perfect by a bit, but you just flipped out and started ranting about how 4 away is not perfect. And “close” is a relative term, so I guess if you really want it “mathematically”, then the ratio of 4 to 300 isn’t relevant in the scheme of things.

    Guy in the us army here. First off great job, some tips tho. On sit ups technically 1 rep is up and down not just up. Second you seem to be using energy to lower yourself on sit-ups instead of just falling. As you fall throw your elbows out till they touch the ground but while keeping your fingers interlocked. Personally I slap my elbows down hard and after my shoulders are bruised from falling down rather than lowering myself. Also very good job on holding yourself to getting proper form and not counting the bad ones. A+ 👍

      @@emiliativernomal1232 There is no official requirements yet, they are still figuring that out. But the score you will need will be based off your MOS, so basically more active soldiers like infantry will have higher requirements than someone usually behind a desk. With the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), males and females no longer have separate point systems, which will be interesting. The dead lift, standing power throw, hand release push up, sprint-drag-carry, leg tuck, and two mile run will be the new events. Just search for more on google if you are curious, I would love to see how Natacha would do with all of these events!

    Awesome video! I remember in my BCT there was a Puerto Rican in my platoon, at the time he was 25 (I believe), and he would knock out over 100-110 push ups, and 120-130 sit ups and ran a 10-11 minute two mile run during APFT's. The guy was a freak of nature, doing two-finger push ups with one hand in the barracks during down time. He was a MMA fighter in Puerto Rico, hardly ever lifted weights, but the guy was jacked and chiseled. Never saw another male soldier in my time of service who was able to come close to his numbers on the APFT. As far as female soldiers scoring high on the APFT, I only knew two, one was a friend and the other was my squad leader, who both were in to serious fitness. They would knock out numbers about what you scored in this video, and, more or less, had the same build as you.

    Correction* To pass the push-ups or the press-ups like you're saying you have to do a minimum of 19 push-ups, the max of repetitions is 42, so you managed to pass with a 100% on the push-ups. The minimum of the sit-ups is 53 repetitions and the maximum score is 78 in which you passed with another 100 points. For the 2 mile run the minimum time required is 18:54 and the maximum is 15:36 and you scored 100 points again! So your score in total is 300 points. You passed with 100% on every test! I know this because I'm in the ROTC and I take the APFT which is the Army Physical Fitness Test for short!
