Man you are getting really explosive and you can definitely tell if you compare it to your sub 48 project videos early on. That's great that you got the opportunity to train with Bassitt. Good video as always man!

Thanks a lot it's great to hear that you can actually see a difference. Just a few weeks away from the first meet now 🔥

Bassitt sure looks great, big split, making those 200's look super easy.

Absolutely. On his 9th one, he dropped a 23.5, in tennis shoes 😳

      @@SimonShawk5 Wow, that's incredible!
Last summer I met this lady from Serbia at the calisthenics park who turned out to be a national level 400 m runner in her home country where back in the day I think she did 54 sec. She is 30 now with a couple of kids but you could never tell, built extremely well - around 6 feet and long legs. A real looker I can tell you. I invited her to join our distance oriented track workout which she did. We did a couple of 400 m repeats together and her technique blew my mind, stride length is just ridiculous! Definitely some Femke Bol type stuff going on. It then became very apparent to me that sprinting is so different from distance running. We were doing 10*400 at around 80 sec. and she ran only the last two with such ease. I am making it my goal this year to go sub 60!

hi, i’m a freshman in high school. i want to run the 400 because it is my favorite event. what are ways i can get faster before spring season? i’ve done XC and Indoor so far. i’ve ran track since middle school and i’ve run XC since elementary

If you have access to somewhere where you can sprint all-out, that would be my biggest recommendation for you to focus on. Since you've run cross country for so long I'm sure you don't need more endurance. However, your max speed may be lacking (saying this from personal experience), and that's the most important ability for a 400m runner to have
I'd try to run 3-5 max speed sprints 1-2x per week with 5-8 minutes rest, while you're completely fresh. That's the quickest way I know to get faster
If you aren't experienced in the weight room, getting stronger at the basics like squat and deadlift would be helpful as well, and if you don't have access to weights then even bodyweight lifting and beginner plyometrics could be good for you
There are a ton of things I could add but this would turn into an essay so I'll leave it there, feel free to ask any more questions though

how far should my all out sprints be? im not very fast at all out speed, and i dont have great form either. im decently strong in the weight room, i can squat 205, but squat is really the only thing im good at. thank you for the help@@SimonShawk5
