I've put links to the equipment I use to record IEM mixes in the description. See Jack's channel here (he does IEM videos from his perspective as an MD/keys player): www.youtube.com/@theworshipresource199 Thanks for watching!
Of the IEM mixes I've heard, this is really well balanced. This is about how I would mix my IEMs are well where everything is pretty balanced with a slight boost on vocals and guitar. Sounds great as always Brian! Cool to hear how you record this mix too!
Well, this is cool! I’ve recently been really curious how everyone does this and thought it was really complicated. That was easier than it could ever possibly be
I do the same connections to a Zoom Q8 which allows me to record video and audio together or just audio if I want. I like it. The video isn’t spectacular, more like webcam quality, but it’s a nice option and very easy setup for getting video and audio together.
Thanks! I do add a bit of EQ and compression to the audio in post but not much. I talk about how I record audio and video in this video - I record audio separately into a recorder. If you try to record it into a camera it is a lot more difficult to set up and the quality is worse.
Panning is really important. We have wireless packs and controlled/adjusted during sound checks or if you are trusted with the ipad lol. Little harder to record without having a cable dangling off me or another device in me, i would need start using a suspender!
I have a custom cable that splits my headphone mix into 2 cables- one for me to listen to, and the other that goes straight to the go pro. it works wonders !! it's by Marino Customs
I know this video is months old but your direct recording clips don't include the click track unless I'm mistaken? How are you pulling that click track out? Or do you just run the click so low that I'm having difficulty hearing it?
Are you referring to the clips in these IEM videos that are from our churches? Or the typical play through videos we do in the studio setting? The IEM/church videos all have the click in the audio. It gets buried a bit when the full band is playing, though. For the normal play thru videos, you don’t hear the click because we record the guitar direct so we can mix whatever else we want in the video and leave the click out.
@@worshiptutorials thanks for the response! I was referring to the clips shown in this video. I couldn’t hear the click at all - you must run yours way lower than I do. Thanks for sharing. We also use the ME-1 so this was very helpful.
@@worshiptutorialsI think my biggest frustration with our Aviom system is that it’s pre everything. So I’m hearing raw bass, acoustic and drums without any eq or compression and everything sounds like a hot mess when it’s all banging away in my ears. I’ve had to get used to no amp or wedges and it’s been rough. The guitar sound is so “present” and in your face when it’s pumped straight to your eardrums that takes some getting used to!

I appreciate that you guys are local church guys

Thanks Zach!
I know Sunday content is tough, but I ALWAYS love it. Good work.

Gonna need a play through of “Bless God”! That sounded great, Brian
Thanks! th-cam.com/video/Hzesk4BcKx4/w-d-xo.html 👍🏻
Haha whoops
Yooo!! Jack is the man!
Glad you found a church where you can contribute

Awesome mix and soundquality! Do you add any eq or compression to the recorded audio afterwards or send the audio straight to the camera?

We have the ME-1s as well, they are very nice and user friendly.
🔥🔥
Once again - I find myself really diggin’ the tone, my dood! I’m assuming this is your sig preset/patch.

It’s-a-nice
Thanks! Yes it is :). But this time it was on Axe-FX III.
@@worshiptutorials which means I am now going to purchase it for the FM9. This is the Lord sending me a "go ahead and get it, dood" message!
Sunday vlogs should come back 0:19
Hi Great video how can i reset the ME1 to factory reset Thank you

If I was going to use my iPhone to record the video, could I not run the audio from my IEM into the iPhone as well with an adapter or audio interface?
Is there a way to record directly to your phone while taking a video ?
You can use an irig to record audio directly to your phone while videoing with your phone, so the audio is already synced up.
Would love to do this, but holy cow, a Presonus personal mix monitor is like $450.
I might have better luck just using a splitter off my IEM pack.
That’s exactly what I’d do. The ME-1’s (personal mix monitor) are what my church uses for IEM’s.
@@worshiptutorialswe use the me1s but we turn off the local mic! Recommend!
Hey, is your IEM post EQ, post comp, post anything?
I'm actually not sure (I'm still somewhat new at my church). My assumption is that it's post EQ/FX, but I could be wrong.

The device where you do your mix what is it? Brand etc. thanks
It's the Allen and Heath ME-1 monitor mixer. It integrates with the FOH system that my church uses.
@@worshiptutorials thanks a lot for the info
