    My favorite big rig. Absolutely meticulous. I wish there were a million like it out there so I could drive one of my own. Thanks for doing the vid!

    I use to see them around a lot when I was a kid. I till to this day knew it was an I.H. but could never find out the "exact" model. "Trans Star Eagle!. "Now I Know" ! Thanks for the education. Very, very, happy to see that there are still those out there that beautifully restore these giant old timers, that served commerce so well back in the days. Thanks for the memories.

    That is sharp! We had a 79 and an 80 4070b, Both jacked up NTC's. NO Jakes. Only one had power steering. What I learned to drive in. Pulling bullwagons running 4500mi + a week. They were good looking trucks in their day but nothing like as sharp as this. One was a turned around 10spd and it would fly. Had to be over 70 to go in that hole. I would say it would have run and hid from my current hood on top speed. Hood is easily a 3 number truck. Keep up the nice work!

    Aside from the Kenworth K100 Aerodyne, this is probably the best looking cabover ever produced.

    anyone remember when Schneider had cabovers IH with the exhaust on the left side and air intake on the right. back Schneider trucks ran pretty good especially if yer were driving a 62 mph f model with a 237 and a 5 speed manual power steering😂.

      I owned an old Schneider truck.It was a 1978 Transtar II with 290 Cummins 9 speed.That was in 1982.One run I had was hauling apples from northeastern N.Y. to the Hunt's Point market,and Kraft food service back north.

    So, noob question--what's the benefit of a stretch frame on a cab-over? I'm assuming its to cushion the ride for going tail-back, but isn't a COE designed to reduce wheelbase at the risk of its ride over the engine?

  • @billlevassiur8274
    @billlevassiur8274 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This truck and the R-model MACK were the most common sight on the road back then. Never thought they would become rare birds in my lifetime. Sad. I miss those days and these trucks.

    beautiful IH binder they always had a nice paint schemes along with brockway and KW , drove one similar to that with a sv92 13 speed 411,s a running sb always had heating problems on long grades and oil consumption didn't really have to change oil periodically just filters if anyone out there in that time frame knows what I mean. but otha than that they were not a bad truck.
