A rare video that shows how to do it when the breaker box is hot. Also, the continuity test helps me to validate my old breaker was indeed the culprit. Thanks!
Thanks!! Put me over the top on a two day, frustrating DOUBLE PARTS FAILURE on an HVAC air handler. Blower motor went out, changed it, worked for one cycle and then a double-pole breaker inside the air handler gave up immediately after. It was backfeeding to the 240v transformer, which fooled me until I noticed the breaker switch was not catching every time while I tried to figure out the problem. I had previously checked the terminals individually to ground, but not across to each other. Absolute hair-puller.
Glad the fix worked. Though it is unlikely, after checking a breaker is passing power when ON that it will cut power too before installing it. Then when installed and rechecking if the Circuit still has power when OFF you know it is coming from somewhere else...
I got a free dryer. I was told it worked. It does spin but no heat. I changed all the heater side parts including element. Still no heat. I have a 240v plug in the shed for it. I tested each leg to grnd. Each has 120 so I assumed 120+120 is 240. I didn't check each leg together. When I did it reads 0. So this video helped confirm something bad in the circuit NOT the dryer. I gotta figure how to change the DP 30amp breaker. It is in a box outside, right below the meter where the electric service comes in to the property.
I had been trying to reset what felt like a "loose" breaker and it would just fall back to the off position without any sort of click, heat, or noise. After watching your video (timestamp 6:00), I saw that you reset a breaker by pushing the lower half across (which didn't stick) and then the upper half across (which took.) I did the same with mine and saw the same behavior. I assume it's a switch that is soon to fail if it hasn't failed already. I'll have to test and see tomorrow! Anyway, thanks for such a good video, man!
Help! I read 120v on each breaker separate but not 240v when tested together just like your video, but when I pull the breakers off to test continuity, they are both good.
I had electrical problems and after many tries of diagnosing the problem I got to the 70amp breaker outside the house. I wanted to replace it with a 60 amp $37, because it was cheaper than the 70amps so I decided to go with the expensive $86 70-amp
All of the videos act like breakers always buzz nonstop and easy to trace..... mine buzzes for half a sec now and then so i can't trace which one. None are warm.

Great job! Excellent explanation… Most definitely will call a electrician to replace my 240v circuit breaker 😊

Thank you! Just diagnosed and replaced a bad breaker in a box where nothing was labeled.
Excellent, simple and easy to understand.
Thanks for sharing and I can relate to your parting words. "You know me I don't throw nothing away"
Great video. Methodical and straight forward.
Thanks man! Really appreciate this help

Thankyou does it matter if it’s a no fault breaker 50 amp double breaker with a ground reset for a hot tub do you test it the same way
Merry Christmas.
Thanks, Merry Christmas, Thanks for Watching!!!
Nice! What size wire is hooked on that breaker?
Does he turn the power off when he test it or only when he replaces
Thank you!
Hi, if you were to energise one pole of that bkr there on your table, and measure the voltage across both poles, what should this voltage be ?
Great video! Thank you !
if i get 120 while checking it, more then likely my breaker is good? Can i check the breaker while the hot wire is still on the breaker also ?
hi friend Merry Christmas
Why would there be low voltage on an entire phase? Phase a of my circuit panel all read 80 volts
Happy New Year ! friend

You should prob fix all those breakers with extra wires on them.
My mom said you sound like Elvis Presley
The biggest problem here is that POS General Electric panel!
Why? When he replaced the breaker, problem solved.

You can still have continuity and a breaker be bad , put a load it then you'll see
Why does my RCD keep tripping
What language was he speaking? I thought that the video was supposed to be in English 🤔
He is speaking English
talkin way too fast
I feel like you call people “Hoss”..
