There are many talented or even virtuoso musicians and bands in the world, but only a handful could enter the sacred land of Art with a capital A. Dir en grey with this performance grabbed the holy grail in music.
this is the awesomeness of watching others react to dir en grey to hear them go wow and fall in love with their music.

'ain't afraid to die' and 'mushi' are two other great songs by theirs that are quite different to the often recommended vinushka/macabre duo. 'ain't afraid to die' was written by kyo while he was in the hospital and is quite emotional to listen to even after many years/listens.
It gets crazier. Shinya (drums) had broken ribs and Kyo (vocals) had the flu here.

I hope I won't have any problems with this comment again...this is a different show from the one you reacted to before [you haven't reacted to two songs form the same show so far ^^]
This live was in 2013 and so is this extented version of the song which was originally released in 2000!
The melodies and everything are the same from that version, but they added some instrumentation, used 7string guitars to make certain parts sound deeper and even more ominous and added an entire section [form where the embryos in the background come down to when the melody of the beginning starts again].
As you can imagine they don't play this song very often [it's just so long it takes up a fourth of their setlist if they play it] but I would love to experience it live some day. It makes me really emotional and the way the guitars, bass and drums interact with one another feels like listening to animals communicating in different languages yet finding a perfect sound together. It's not harmonious but somehow resembles a perfect inner harmony - I have no idea how else to describe it. Definitely a song that transports lots of images while listening to it.
It's difficult to choose a favorite but maybe just because of the live experience I had with it my number 1 Dir en grey song at the moment is The World of Mercy. Macabre [both the original and remake] are unmatched in their discography though because they don't have another song that tries similar things [come to think of it...I could see Kamuy from the new album Phalaris turn into a similar experience live. It's very different but similar in some way? I cannot wait to see it performed!]
I die again hearing you mention "Obscure" because it's the title of one of their classics, great nostalgia.

Vi tu reaccion hoy, tengo 35 años y escucho dir en grey desde los 15, y tienen muchas masterpiece, siendo honesto, su evolucion es brutal y uno de sus mejores temas es aint afraid to die, ahora el disco Macabre personalmente es el que mas me gusta, es sumamente melodico, pero tambien experimental, te invito a mirar los primeros discos que aunque musicalmente hoy en dia no me gustan tanto, si tienen un par de joyas como akuro no oka
