You should check out the live version with subtitles if you have some spare time or are interested. The break toward the end of the song the singer is still performing, it's very compelling and really adds to the narrative and atmosphere! I really appreciate your reactions, thank you so much for checking them out!
this song has some incredibly emotional live performances by kyo, especially performance from "the world you live in", a concert held with no one in the audience during covid lockdown
I generally think that content warnings are a good idea in a lot of cases, but when it comes to DEG i think it being DEG is the warning in and of itself lmao.
You probably gonna hear this from other people too, but Dir en Grey are one of those bands that are better live, not only because the production on some of their albums is a bit off (not the case with this song btw), but also because Kyo's vocal performances tend to be even more extreme, impressive and emotional live. Either way, I'm always happy seeing someone going down the Dir en Grey rabbit hole, here's some suggestions for other Dir en Grey to check out if you're interested: for some heavy shit: DIR EN GREY - MC + 激しさと、この胸の中で絡みついた灼熱の闇 live for another epic long track: DIR EN GREY MACABRE LIVE @ TABULA RASA for a not as long and not as heavy but still overall great song with raw emotional vocals: DIR EN GREY - Tousei (Arche live) Have fun, man ;)
I am amazed by how you paid attention to every single part of the video as well as the song itself even though it is a LOT to take in, especially seeing it for the first time Love the song, love the MV, loved your reaction! Yeah, the 'teacher' was the vocalist and I am so surprised that you figured that out If you take suggestion from the comments, I highly recommend Diabolos (from TOUR16-17 FROM DEPRESSION TO ______ [mode of DUM SPIRO SPERO])! I don't see many people suggesting it usually but it's one of my ultimate favourites and perfectly continues the spree of long, emotionally deep songs from DeG. And please watch them live! It's an incredible experience every time
Diru videos are wild. It's another part of the whole experience. Live, studio, videos. All different aspects. And all worth it. Find the live and it'll blow you away how much of those layered vocals he manages to interpret into a single vocal performance. Incredible.
What a fantastic reaction! I really enjoyed your commentary on both the music and the video; diru videos are wild and a must-buy for me whenever the PV collections come out because every single one is a complimentary art piece. Like some people said, the live version is powerful in an entirely different way, and absolutely worth a listen to compare/contrast. In that vein, I kinda suggest watching the actual Vinushka music video, too - catch the uncensored version (which should tell you something in itself) for another powerful story, but also to hear some of those really goosebump-raising harmonies that just can't be replicated live. I hope for many more wonderful diru moments for you!
Props for the bassist? Very much so! But just wait until you hear anything from the Dum Spiro Spero album, the bass is incredibly forward and most of it is slap! I'd personally recommend the live version of either Diabolos or Dreambox, easy enough to find on here ;)
Oh boy, Dir en grey’s videos and lyrics could absolutely be analyzed for hours. I saw this live last month and it’s performance art from start to finish with a lot of head banging in between.
Love the breakdown of the song! All songs have, mostly, pain as a subject! About the flytrap plant, they require an adequate soil and environment (temperature and humidity) one fly per 2 weeks is enough for a smaller plant, it's also important to allow it rest (hibernate during winter) Yeah, it's delicate! But badass! 🤟
Cool to see someone seeing diru for the first time. Their older sound is a little different, or a lot different depending on the album . They changed a bit between albums each time. This is very much of the modern sound and a newer song. My first favourite band when i discovered them in 04 or 05 when i was a young teenager. Zakuro live is worth a watch if you like the dark sound and want to hear something sounding a little different and muchly the same. I think all albums since uroboros have had a long song with a particular formula. Let me know if you want to hear zakuro I'll find the best version in my opinion
I can not stress this enough... SEE DIRU LIVE IF YOU CAN~ You won't regret it. I've seen t hem 7 times live, 6 of those being in Japan...and I'm hopefully going again in December, have tickets for their two random shows in Los Angeles next year.
Please listen to the live version of this song. It's extrem better than the album version. Here you have the link: The world of mercy th-cam.com/video/Lj8Ls01Zmo8/w-d-xo.html
