As soon as I saw the thumbnail I recognized her. Every couple months she comes to the Ross store that I work at. It’s so crazy to see her here telling her story. The times that she’s been at the store she always has her babies with her, and let me tell you something, 99% of the things that she buys is for her kids (and her little dog). I’ll admit there have been times were she comes in her stroller and it looks like she might steal something (because trust me A LOT of people do that at the store), but she pays for every little thing, even if her kids are already wearing the items. It breaks my heart knowing that the government doesn’t do enough to help her and her children. She has such a positive outlook regarding her situation, where a lot of people would probably break. I hope that she and her babies are doing well and I pray that they get the assistance that they deserve!

She told a whole story and that’s all you took from it. Smh.

@@9roselove9 wow, I don’t recall hearing her say she’s lonely and feels like a failure. I do recall her saying she lost her job and home when she was almost killed and injured in a horrific accident. I also heard her say she currently has shelter, a helping family member, and goals of a home to call her own. I heard her say the father of her children is assumed dead, and I heard her say she’s blessed although she doesn’t have material possessions that most of us take for granted. I’ve made it a goal of mine to assume good intentions from everyone before jumping to my own conclusions. Your remark seems calloused and cold to say the least. That being said, I won’t assume your comment was intentionally hurtful or malicious. Perhaps I read it wrong. These kids appear to be healthy, happy, and loving. Their mother stated she has never touched drugs. I’d deduce from the information given, that her difficulties are the product of extremely bad occurrences that were beyond her control. From where I’m sitting, 4 children seeing their loving mother refuse to give up and determined to do everything she can to improve their lives is a great example. Especially given the uncertainty that taking kids from their mother and handing them over to “the system” can create. (Sexual abuse, physical abuse, splitting them up, etc.) Furthermore, she’s suffered enough and she’s still trying… so how would taking that which she cherishes most in this world away from her be a step in the right direction? Finally, I hope if you ever experience a fraction of the harsh realities this kind hearted woman has been forced to endure, that no one is too quick to judge you, or your circumstances, and that instead of harshness you are met with kind, loving, helpful attitudes that will help you become whole again. Have a great day. ❤️

Damn. This is the first one that really got me. She reminds us all that it isn’t only drugs, crime or mental illness to end up homeless. Or less of home. When I was a single mother of a 2 yr old having just left her Dad, it took me 2 months living with family and friends. I finally found an apartment in my budget. And a daycare that would have to be affordable because I couldn’t get to the other ones before 5:30p from work. One month of missing a paycheck, and I would’ve been done. In a town that really really does not like the homeless.
Marisa reminds her kids of how many blessings they have. To be together. And she calls them “jewels” to be cherished, that can’t ever be replaced. Those babies are clean, well-fed and educated. Cared for and loved. That goes a hell of a long way in my book. Her devotion and fortitude are beyond admirable. ❤

I don't even understand how we can sit here and talk about homeless children!
      It's beyond insane!
The smallest one is two years old for crying out loud!
America, the home of the free.
The country everyone is dreaming about.
      Not me.
I'm so EXTREMELY thankful that I don't live there because this is just so horrible I'm almost lost for words. This doesn't happen in my country.
If I lived there, I'd take them in today.
I only have one guestrooms but the children could get bunk beds and the mother could sleep on the couch.
But in my opinion those children should go to school. They need a place to go to outside where they live, especially in this situation.

She has tried hard to take care of her children. What happened to can happen to anyone. She is articulate and powerful but many homeless are mentally ill. Where is the government. Where is Elon musk? So many billionaires. How many homeless those billions take care of? The police won't help them. They just chase them away. Where I live you have to line up for a bed in the Salvation army. If they get in it costs $7 a night. Why isn't free?

This is how I ended up homeless with my two children. Hospital bills from my youngest child being chronically ill. It took us 2 years to get back on our feet. This pandemic almost put us back on the streets. Thank goodness friends and family came through to help us get by for a few months. Once I got back on my feet again, first thing I did was pay everyone back. It’s so easy to end up in these situations in the USA. There is no real safety net. Medical and welfare refused to help us even though we are all US citizens. So, this country is a total joke when it comes to helping those who are truly in need.

There’s this guy name Isaiah I’ve watched on TH-cam, and he helps out the homeless by giving them money and doing a go fund me page for individuals that were homeless and give them a apartment. Isaiah was once homeless. And he gives back to the community. And he does way more than the government itself.

The main issue is not how disabled you are really, it is how much medical documentation you have, if you have a long history of going to many various doctors, diagnoses, many medications, and consistency, along with documentation for all of it, then it isn't difficult to get approved, this is how I got approved the first time with no issues. It is a major problem when you are very poor to begin with and can't afford to go see all these different doctors and consistently take medications and obtain documentation.
