I bought these through Drop a year ago this month, hands down my favorite pair of open backs I own. They sit right next to my laptop on my desk plugged into my DAC AMP ready to go. Last year they were $200 so it’s cool of Drop to keep the price pretty consistent considering how popular they are.
Nice feedback. Can you tell me which DAC AMP you are using with these headphones? I also bought them a few times ago but do not have a DAC AMP yet to get the most of them.
These HD6xx are worth every single penny of that $220. For $195??? Y’all better do yourselves a favor and pick these up. They are absolutely legit. Awesome review Keith!
Great review! I have the 58x jubilee and think they are excellent. I wonder how these compare to them. I also have the Phillips fidelio x2 and think they are peers to the 58x (sometimes slightly better). You should try them.
@@TheCisnieniowiec You aren't wrong. But its so nuanced that most people wouldn't really know the difference unless it was pointed out to them. And its definitely not a big enough difference to buy a seperate pair of headphones just for movies. lol These for sure more than suffice for all media types, while shining the most with music.
Hi. Great video, I recently bought mine , they don't come in that nice hinged box, mine didn't come with the the adapter, but I am not bothers as I have one of two of these, these used to made in Ireland but now made in Romania. I recently fitted the Custom Cans bass mod which does improve the bass at the lower end , overall great headphones . Regards mark
Solid vid as always! Aye Gamesky - you ever consider doing a video where you talk about the situations in which you reach for a particular set of ear buds or over-ear headphones? Seeing as to how you have so many headphones/ear buds it would be dope to hear what you actually use day to day and for different scenarios. Just a thought....keep up the good work man
Wearing my hd650 as I watch this video lol. The 6xx/650's are fricken fantastic. They are just so lush and intimate. Beautiful sounding. Although the one thing I will say that disagrees with you is to not change the pads whatever you do. Anything but the Sennheiser oem Velour pads will absolutely cannibalize the sound and ruin it. Especially switching out to the pleather or leather. That's just my subjective opinion though. Others may feel differently and thats ok. Great review brotha been waiting for you to drop this.
I run these off a schit stack . Everybody who listens is blown away .. one freind in perticular bought the same set uo after listening to mine for hours . He hasnt fired up his 2 channel hifi in months .
Please review the Sennheiser 660s or make a comparison video. You may also like the Philips Fidelio x2 with pack a bit of bass but sound like butter. Thanks for the video.
2021 and I got myself HD 58x, along with recent update of my older PXC 500 to 500-II. Unfortunately couldn't find 6xx locally and Drop does not ship to the country I reside in.
I have these HD 6xx and u can replace cushion with leather or whatever u want. And they do lossen up. And u can get replacement wires/cords. They r awesome no doubt.
These headphones are warm as Hell. No where near reference. I do agree their value is unmatched. They need a substantial amount of power and a good DAC. Budget portables like the Topping NX4 don't cut it. Get at least an Asgard 3 and Modi multibit. Then they'll sing.
The background drop and shots in this video were terrific 👌 amps can really change the headphone experience, the g6 I had gotten I don't feel was powering the pro 82 at all. Bummer. So I think I may send it back. I'd look at these but I can't have that sound leak. Do they make a closed back version?
58X Jubilee is the best steal for a Sennheiser headphone because it's easy to drive. Better with an amp... but not necessary like with the 6XX where an amp is a must
Yeah these look good I don't never understood the Facebook hate these get. Every time I see an advertisement for these headphones on Facebook there's all kinds of angry and laughing emojis like somebody knows we're all getting scammed but nobody else is in on it.
Robbie's Incoherent thoughts I wouldn’t say better personally. To the 6xx has more upper mids and mid bass while the 58x has better bass extension and is not as shouty. Both were equally detailed to my ears. Plus the 58x isn’t as picky as the 6xx. The 58x will sound good with whatever you plug it into. 58x are my pick.
Hate over the head headphones.. so this review is completely irrelevant to me... But a great review nonetheless... As always G.. u are one of my main sources for what's available or soon to be...
New to the HiFi community. What do I need to use this to it’s best potential for a laptop. Purpose will be be for music and movies. Any help would be appreciated! I have no idea where to start haha
So, I bought the Sony WH1000XM3 and every time I connect it to my phone it gives me an option to turn on/off ldac, it says that ldac consumes more power than other codecs. That got me curious to know if ldac's close to hires performance takes effect on streaming services like Spotify, if not, am I better off with Aptx hd and save a lil bit of battery life?
Ldac is only really useful when you use FLAC or ALAC files but Spotify only supports up to 320 kbps and having Ldac turned on wouldn’t make a difference unless as stated previously. AAC and Aptx HD would be your best option as there really is no benefit to using Ldac for music streaming.
Would the quad DAC on my LG G7 have enough power to push these? I have the lyx pro you reviewed and it's the only pair of headphones I have where I can hear a huge difference with the quad DAC on or off
Changing the pads other than using the oem earpads on the HD 6-xx line destroys their sound not a good idea to destroy their sound and there very natural sound and Timbre which is extremely rare in headphones the 650 and the 600 are the only headphones that have the very natural Timbre except for zmf verity other zmf Headphones those headphones have very natural maybe even more so than those headphones dekoni got you covered if you want that and duel entry connection is better for sound and longevity most high and headphones there's no way of getting around it have a proprietary and deul entry connection if you want to sacrifice a lot of sound quality for single and connection that's on you but that's just a must sound quality

I’ve been putting off getting these forever, I hope you talk me into it lol
Same, like I’m stuck deciding getting these or getting the Momentum 3
@@ATK. don't buy the momentum. These are the best with a good amp under 1000

They are incredible with movies

Really hope drop release a hd600 version with sennheiser
Purchased. This is my first entry to low-end Hi-Fi headphones. Thank you for the code!
No problem, enjoy them
These are not "low end" headphones. They are the HD650, which were Sennheiser's flagship headphones until 2009.
@@mistersurrealist I think by "low end" they were more referencing the price in comparison to other hifi headphones, not the quality.

How much outside noise can you hear?
