    My trusty u2412m is finally starting to have serious afterimage on the right side so I've been considering getting another one or the u2415. I noticed in this video that when you have the dual monitor setup, the one on the left changed screens 1 frame faster than the 2415. Is that because of your setup or does the 2415 introduce an additional 1ms lag time? I'm very curious because my 2412's lag is very minimal and not noticable in games and I'd hope the 2415 would be the same or better as far as response/lag time is concerned.

    • @sweiverreviews
      @sweiverreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frame delay is not a side effect of the monitor, but rather the minimal delay from when the slideshow got started. Because of the different resolution of each screen, mirroring on the two monitors with uniformity was not possible so the screens had to by driven independently. I'm still very satisfied with my U2415 and use it daily without any issues this far.

    • @tVideoUTube
      @tVideoUTube 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also upgraded from 2 u2412m's to 2 u2415's Nice improvement in screen resolution and panel color uniformity. I did not notice any additional delays.

      @@sweiverreviews I was resistant for as long as possible, but my U2412 started to make clicking noises when I turned it on recently so I finally bought a u2415. The color temperature out of the box was very different from what I was used to with the u2412 and in pure black there's giant awful light bleed blobs on the top and bottom of the screen, but once any type of greyscale hits the monitor it goes away. I'm also able to use a max refresh rate of 66hz with 0 frame drops which is better than the 62hz I managed with my u2412. Besides the really bad black uniformity the monitor is sharper and the colors seem more accurate. If the black uniformity was better I'd say this would have been a perfect monitor.

    With 24 inch monitor, either 1080p or 1200p are great. 1440p would be great for watching movies or doing video works but the readability is so bad. You really want to go with 27 inch monitor for 1440p.

    • @notinlist
      @notinlist 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I use it at my workplace daily for many years now. I love it. Sometimes I use two vertical terminals or a Thunderbird and a Firefox like at 7:03. I set the Firefox zoom to 90% as a typical homepage just a little bit wider than half of 1920. I use CLion (with dark theme) on fullscreen. Watching videos is also a treat. I don't use the pivot function.

    • @sweiverreviews
      @sweiverreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I use it for coding regularly, set vertically, it does the job perfectly. Both in an IDE (PyCharm), split terminal for console access and some coding via VIM... can't complain, love it for that purpose.

    I did not quite understand.
    At a resolution of 1200p the text will look better, smoother? Compared to 1080p?
    I can not decide what to choose DELL U2419H or U2415.
    I need a monitor for working with TEXT. WEB programming. Please help me.
    I can not compare them, at the same time :(

      Or Dell P2319H - monitor
      23 inches with 1080p resolution

    • @sweiverreviews
      @sweiverreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      At resolution 1920x1200 (vs 1920x1080) it will give you a bit more screen space, while text/image quality will remain the same. In other words, pixel density remains the same but aspect ratio (screen shape) changes. The text pixelation stands out at close distance, but really only when comparing it to a higher resolution screen. Overall, I found the screen quality to be acceptable, and with very good color. Although for strictly text applications it's better to go with a higher resolution for improved smoothing, at this price point there isn't a screen as good considering all its features. Despite my critique regarding text sharpness, I use it in its horizontal position for coding/programming (white text on black background) and I'm quite happy with it.
      Last note, if you're looking for a text/web programming screen, the 16:10 aspect ratio is definitely a must.

      Quite acceptable, perceivably, considering it's a well adopted IPS panel, and the price range, can't go wrong. Of course there are better panels for a good color coverage, but they're significantly more expansive.

    • @sweiverreviews

      If you're concerned with response time, consider a TN screen instead of IPS, especially one that runs faster than 60 hz. Although I feel it does not really show as much lag, a core FPS gamer will certainly notice a difference.

    Is it still worth getting a 2412m for $100 less then this 2415 upgrade for better color?

    • @sweiverreviews
      @sweiverreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 2412m is older, different built quality, and has a bit outdated IO ports. If none of this bothers you, then then screen quality will be very comparable and you should go for the cheaper screen, but if you prefer a better aesthetic (border-less design) and updated IO ports, then go with the 2415. At the end of the day, either one will deliver good image quality as both are nearly identical in this respect (there are some minor differences but little practical difference imo)

    • @chetanjiva8874
      @chetanjiva8874 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SweiverReviews, Thanks for the valuable feedback. I just received my u2412m and have it paired next to an old hp e241i. These screens have almost identical picture quality. I use them for coding and I’m not sure if there are better screens in this price range. I believe the 2415 is flicker free so that may be another reason to get the newer model.

    • @sweiverreviews
      @sweiverreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Actually I'd recommend this monitor (U2515 or U2414H), both have good color coverage and good color calibration out-of-the-box. Considering it's an IPS screen this means good viewing angles, which reduces color shift. Another thing worthy of mention is that if you do a lot of black-and-white photography then it might be a hit-n-miss with the backlight bleed... it's not too bad on 24" IPS panels, but usually much better on smaller sizes. For color photography this is less of an issue.

    • @sweiverreviews
