Tomo and Michael playing together is one of the highlights of this channel. The moment when they exchange smiling glances @8:41 is priceless. Make a note of how much time Tomo spends watching Michael's playing, there's an obvious sense of pride at how accomplished Lemmo has become.
The BEST demos are EXACTLY like this one from “Norman’s”…a gorgeous, vintage guitar being played by an absolutely BRILLIANT guitarist! It definitely made my day!
I thought that was a great emulation of Jen. I actually thought it was Jen at first 😄. And I always enjoy Tomo and his groovy playing style. I miss him when I have to go too long without watching him play.
Who doesn't know Tomo Fujita? Striving for simplicity (Musicmaster) is a sign of great skill. I was even surprised when he plugged the guitar into the amplifier. What for? Mr. Harris! I was glad to see you)
I have owned a 76 Fender Music Master for nearly forty years, it was messed around with by previous owner, watching this video has inspired me to dust it off & look at restoring it back to original.
Wow....timely! Just bought a 78 Musicmaster through FB marketplace for a killer deal. It’s so clean. I had never played one before but it sounds great, fun to play and the neck is a dream!
Mr Fujita sure can play, and it's clear that he's a great teacher, too - he could probably even get something out of my extremely limited talent. The tribute to Jen is much appreciated; Ms Fujita is also a fine cinematographer. I've had a soft spot for these cheaper Fenders ever since I saw the photo, on the inner sleeve of Aja, of Walter Becker playing his Duo-Sonic and hearing the great music he produced from it. Thank you, as always, Normans, for a great video.
Amazing video. Owned exactly same guitar. Same colour too. It was really a heavy guitar and very simple. But hey is a Fender. Back in those days quite expensive!!
One of the nice things about the Musicmaster is that it is the rare single pickup guitar that has the pickup in the neck position instead of the bridge. Great jazzy sound and of course great playing too!
My first guitar was bought for me by my Mom. It was a 1977 Fender Musicmaster that I got new in 1977 for Christmas. I still remember the serial number S704507. I still play, although I don't own that guitar anymore.
I have a '63 Music Master in Dakota Red and out of all my guitars this little guitar with that one pickup is my favorite and sounds like no other.. great playing Tomo!!!....
If you’re not already go and subscribe to Tomo’s channel ! He’s one of the best 🎸 teachers on TH-cam ! And the dude is just a lot of fun and has chops for days
awesome and awesome stratojam outtake; also started fender territory on the MM; gettin hooked onto the Casters. >just found one of the very rare stashed photos I took; thx 4the reminder 🥰🤩
Good stuff, how great is Norm's Guitars? Through everything, just keeping it real and all of us entertained. Lots of love and appreciation to all that make these possible!
Nice Home Edition :) Love the fade to almost an ivory color and black parts. 4 bolt and 22 frets !! The funky 'thide of sings' had me waiting for Isley's "Its Your Thing". Great playing !
MR FUJITA..... finally someone who doesn't wear rings, jewelry, leather jackets with abrasive snaps, or anything that makes a new guitar wind up Looking Rd., Warren. Domo Arigato Mr. Fujita. 🖐🏽😎👍🏽🎸 ❤️ 🇺🇸
there are some people who look down on these guitars as sub-standard student guitars but that's just not the case, simplified yes but very pro-level build quality Tomo really shows how good these short scale guitars can sound. I have a 65 musicmaster II and it is amazing! it's a sleeper of the vintage the same wire and wood as a 65 strat with less Zeroes attached to the pricetag. musucmasters rule
you don't see too many single pick up fenders , and I don't think I've ever seen a musicmaster before , but it has a great clean tone , very jangly and funky , and Tomo definitely has the groove , something new and exciting for GOTD , well done Tomo , and thanks Sammi.
Man, Tomo, your right hand at 3:35, and again at 5:10 is inspiring! And BTW, thank you for showing that the Musicmaster is actually a better-sounding Jazz Guitar than the Jazzmaster from around 5:45 to the end! 😂
the reason 1978 musicmaster guitars and basses are so common was because fender wanted to discontinue the mustangs, which were not selling well in the 70's so fender decided to build a lot of cheap musicmasters to use up the remaining necks and bodies which they had tons of and were taking up a lot of warehouse space. when they were used up, fender introduced the early bullet and squier models as their student models. even though musicmasters were still being sold new in the early 80's, they were technically all 1978's because that was when they were all assembled.
Please! A player who is this good should not be selling guitars for a shop. Tomo and Michael are great players and deserve a concert, not a commercial....
Sigh... My first guitar was a '78 Musicmaster. All black with a huge ding in front of the body. Sold it towards a Les Paul eventually; but it was a cool guitar.
Maybe the playing techniques are more sophisticated than the manufacturing techniques, either way, it's the player, not the played that gives the listener enjoyment, and aren't listeners what this is all about?
Thank you for having me here!! I really miss you guys!!
Love It
Yo didn't expect you to go off that hard with the slapp riffs. Absolute master of the strings my man👌
Please come back more ! such a blessing to hear you play .
It was so awesome seeing you on today’s Norman vid with all your wisdom !!
This is the best

Mr. Fujita I think you play like butter, smooth and silky
As much as I like Lemmo's playing, Tomo is still the master!
More videos Tomo! Love your description and style.
Thank you Tomo!
Amazing video. Owned exactly same guitar. Same colour too. It was really a heavy guitar and very simple. But hey is a Fender. Back in those days quite expensive!!
One of our modern-day masters! Thank you so much, Tomo-sensei 👍
I got one of these,,same year, a while back here in the UK. I totally agree, the neck is wonderful.
Tomo is the man! 👏👏👏
Beautiful playing and tone @TomoFujitaMusic
Love this concept of home guitar of the day!
One of the nice things about the Musicmaster is that it is the rare single pickup guitar that has the pickup in the neck position instead of the bridge. Great jazzy sound and of course great playing too!
The cleanliness which he plays with is actually mindblowing, I can’t get behind it

Very cool. Thanks, Tomo! I think this is the very first time I've seen a Musicmaster "TV logo."
That man knows his way around 6 strings & a fretboard. I get the feeling you name a style he will show you how it's done!
Good stuff, how great is Norm's Guitars? Through everything, just keeping it real and all of us entertained. Lots of love and appreciation to all that make these possible!
I love Jen's laugh!!
I love that guitar, and your playing too!
Nice Home Edition :)
Love the fade to almost an ivory color and black parts. 4 bolt and 22 frets !!
The funky 'thide of sings' had me waiting for Isley's "Its Your Thing". Great playing !
Lol. His daughter even said "oooh" when he opened up the case, awesome!

Tomo plays that music master like a bass, slapping it. 🤘on tomo.
It's like Victor Wooten but on guitar
Great playing!

Tomoooooo!
Crazy...y'all are getting into guitars I actually own lately.
Man, Tomo, your right hand at 3:35, and again at 5:10 is inspiring! And BTW, thank you for showing that the Musicmaster is actually a better-sounding Jazz Guitar than the Jazzmaster from around 5:45 to the end! 😂

Amazing player. Wish he showed his guitars in the background.
Sugoi !
The music school I went to in 89-90 used the Berkley program for guitar.
tomo!
🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️
Norm: Tomo-san...what chords are you going to play in your demo?
Tomo: Yes
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
yas
So John Mayer learned Dave Matthews techniques and then went to this genius for some thumb slapping and extended knowledge... its all making sense
Was that some Kyary Pamyu Pamyu at the end?
Make no mistake, that was a message to Lemmo loud and clear !!
Tommo has game!
Tomo fantastic playing then toss in a little Michael even some imitation Jen guess it must be Straturday, whooa Jeff in LA USA
Mrs Tomo’s wife must enjoy his fast hands.
Haha Sammi go easy on the digital zoom haha.
Please! A player who is this good should not be selling guitars for a shop. Tomo and Michael are great players and deserve a concert, not a commercial....
This is the cutest thing
So if you scratch! Still vintage!
sWEET GUITAR!
Sammi forgot to "Wooooooooo!!"
Nice try, Davie504, but you're not fooling me this time. Take off the mask.
Kidding, great video Mr. Fujita and Sam.
HOW DO YOU KNOW SO MANY CHORDS?!
Channeling Les Claypool there for a moment!
Is this one of those Japanese AI robots? A human being could never play this well! Great entertainment - thanks Tomo.
Sigh... My first guitar was a '78 Musicmaster. All black with a huge ding in front of the body. Sold it towards a Les Paul eventually; but it was a cool guitar.

Master 0b wan
davie504 slap like now
tomo Fujita. slaps the living $h*t out of that fender
Pon-pon dashite shimaeba ii no
Les Claypool meets Godzilla meets Mr. Rogers meets George Benson
Reminds me of listening to Michael Jackson backwards
In a perfect world people would pay more attention to the Tomo Fujitas and much less to the Taylor Swifts...
Fret job….anyone? 😉
