- I've played around 25 hours of Gamecube games on the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. Both single-player and multiplayer split-screen. How well does the RP4 handle GameCube? Watch the video to find out!

I love my RP4 Pro. It plays almost every single game I throw at it. I don't think I've had a Game Cube game I can't run. I got a 1tb card off Amazon and it was totally worth it. Loaded zillion games, some movies and even comic books. Use it on the go all the time. Definitely recommend the carry case too it is nice.
Loving mine. I just started to understand semi recently. First retrohandheld and it has already established itself as my most used device. And my grip isn't even here yet. Love android and cloud gaming as well. So glad i got this.
Great video, I just recently discovered you and love the videos like this where you show things after using them for so long - and the walkthrough of dolphin settings would have been a huge help to me years ago so i know it'll be helping loads of newer members of this hobby.
Subbed*
Thank you!!
2 questions:
- How do you feel about the size of the screen for playing gamecube games for long periods? Does it feel too small?
- Have you checked out the ROM hack Super Mario Eclipse, and have you tried it on the RP4P? How is it?
I don't mind playing gamecube games for long periods of time on it, and this is coming from someone that generally prefers console based games on a TV. I have not played Super Mario Eclipse, I bet it runs well though!
I play Pikmin 1 and 2 on my RP3+, waiting for black friday to get the RP4P. Thanks for mentioning the official grip, I had just watched another channel comparing the RG556 to RP4P and said it was uncomfortable. Well, duh, the rg556 has built in grips. I like the size of Retroids devices, I take it with me everywhere i go. Cant wait to upgrade to 4pro.
Your tv wires are in the wall? Nice.
That hanging cabinet and the cables in the wall was all done by me, I'm pretty proud of it haha
The RP4 Pro is just out of my budget. I'm really looking forward to a handheld that would be around €150-€170 after taxes that could do gamecube and PS2 decently enough for most games.
But even the regular RP4 ends up around €190 after taxes and shipping.
Maybe the Powkiddy RGB10MAX3 is the answer for me, but that one has a few downsides I'd rather not have. (lack of touchscreen is a big one for me)
Anyway, I'm hopeful next year will be the year I'll finally get a handheld with these capabilities at the price point I want.
You can play most gamecube and PS2 on the Retroid pocket 3+ decently well, I played through all of SSX3 for the PS2 at a great frame rate on the RP3+. But yea, I feel like after a year we'll have the power of the Retroid Pocket 4 pro in a sub $150 handheld.
Sounds like what you’re looking for is the Anbernic RG556 👍🏻
Great video brother! Really helpful! Do you know if theres a way to use cheat codes using dolphin? I'm hoping I can add a widescreen cheat code to all of my games.
Do you think that the rp4pro can play harvest moon another wonderful life cause that was my favorite game playing the game cube till it dies. And I was thinking about geting the rp4pro cause I think it’s the best think you can use for almost all my favorite emulation
Great game! Haven't tested it yet on the rp4pro but I would be shocked if it didn't run perfectly.
@ thanks so much 🙂
I’m sorry if I’m just not seeing it, but did you link to the compatibility sheet?
I forgot! Thanks for pointing that out. Adding it now.
@@8bitbongo It is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I preprdered the RP4P, was super excited to get it and then....have barely touched it yet. I need to fix this.
That James Bond game looks legit
It's one of the most fun split screen multiplayer games in my opinion.
1tb sd cards was last year we are using 1.5tb this year. I’ve got 4 I keep in a case/keychain it’s like using tiny cartridges only instead of a single game each holds a few complete system libraries (work in progress) still more games then I could ever play😅
It's crazy how fast these things are improving!
Hi, how long did you use your battery playing these games?
I didn't run a specific test but i would get around 4 hours of gameplay before I needed to plug it in.
ATV QUAD POWER RACING 2 I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH
How are you playing with other people?
I explain the whole set up in this video: th-cam.com/video/csv_GZiSQiA/w-d-xo.html
Has this got any games preloaded?
No games preloaded, you'll need to put all your games on a micro sd card.
i love my rp4 pro with 900 games on it
ATV2 Good game!!!
Dude get a grip! (for the rp4)
I really should lol
Great video but there aren't any retro achievements for GC... sad face.
I know! Maybe some day…
Well there is now
@@Bobthegamer-jl9st totally. I just noticed last week. Amazing!!!!
@@jinstinky501 i agree
Genuinely, I never cared about retro achievements. If I were making a gaming handheld today, itd be far below every other feature.
Sounds like me
Why are you bluring the FPS on the quad game? because its 45 fps? are you paid? such a bad video roflmao
Get your eyes checked, it's clearly showing 50 or above in the videos.
