**CAUTION** Do not plan out your layout with holes before you can plant the trees/bushes!! The holes will be gone when you get back!! How do I know? All my holes... all my plans disappeared... don’t make the same mistake.
I'm late to the party for commenting, but you can plant out all the holes if you have everything you need. From experience going inside your house, taking out what you need, and then exiting your house doesnt remove any holes. That only happens if you save and quit. So if you have a bunch of fruit, saplings, and bushes ready for decorating, plan all you like!
Hey man, thanks for this. I have started playing New Leaf again and for the first time am working on the gardening of my town. This was really helpful!
I haven't played this game for over a year and decided to start a new town. Completely forgot about the proper spacing for trees and my only perfect apple died. c':
@Matcha_crossing If you plan to Homebrew it, then I'd personally recommend getting one. It's honestly the only way I was able to play New Leaf as well as other games
My new town, I’m adding a lot of diagonal and slightly naturally curved paths to navigate through the town (I lucked out and eight villagers all decided to set up shop right near one another). Placement has been difficult, but I’m trying to make a very overgrown and naturally forest town. It’s fun, although I personally love the Spuce trees so much, I hate that they can’t be placed everywhere..
Such a good tutorial Dazza! I'm currently trying to do a second town of mine that I created after the amiibo update since I had no real connection to the town that was already on that cartridge (does anyone else do this?) and I'm trying to use more bushes in this town than I have in my previous town. This will be super helpful to look back on. I'm also going to attempt dirt paths as well, but since I haven't got my main line of paths sorted out yet, them patterns be stayin'! :D Can I just say as well that Morriwood is looking gorgeous! I'm kind of trying to emulate Morriwood in my own town as well :) ever since you've been playing New Leaf again (you and a certain other streamer ;) ) you've given me inspiration to work on my own game as well.
Thanks Dazza! I’m actually having a problem with an area right now, I can’t seem to plant anything in it, and it’s completely deserted!! I’ll try these rules tomorrow
So I've recently started a new town (on an extra copy of ACNL) with the intention of filling every available nook and cranny with perfect fruit trees. So given the limitations of rule #5, how would you suggest spreading out the trees to ensure the most possible trees take root?
This will most likely get buried but let's try anyway. I wanna plant a tree. However, it dies each time I try it. It is not near any building and it is spaced away from the river so it should work and the only other plants near are flowers and a tree. Help?
Run on the grass daily and all the time you are where you want your path to be , the grass starts to disappear after a while cant remember exactly how long tho maybe a few weeks,
I am just confused on one of the rules it was that you cannot plant more than 8 trees in a 7x7 square but the video showed a 5x5 I was wondering if it was a typo or the wrong clip
You're right, the trees are planted in a 5x5 square, with the central tree only being the 8th, which should grow. But in the 7x7 square, there's a peach tree at the bottom-right that's already grown, making the central sapling the 9th in the 7x7. You can catch a glimpse of it at 2:33. Sorry for any confusion!
I planted three cedar saplings, my favorite, and they all died. It then planted fruit trees right next to the dead saplings, plus like four other fruit trees, and they ALL GREW. WTF?
pls pls pls do a landscaping guide im so jelly of ur talent and I wanna make my towns look nice without literally copying others
Loved the video, may I ask will you be doing a dirt path guide or can u tell me the best way to get them
I am indeed!
Thank you for this. Currently playing ACNL again from my town back in 2013

My tree keeps dying right next to my bush. And i followed all the steps above?
This is Soo helpful!
I love your town 😍🥰

I planted bananas, mangos and lemons all near cliffs and they all died, I had no idea.

Where did you get dirt path
Can a bush grow next to rock?
No I don't think so. Unless it's fake cuz u can smash it and put a bush where u wanted it. (Smash it first if you can.)
This will most likely get buried but let's try anyway. I wanna plant a tree. However, it dies each time I try it. It is not near any building and it is spaced away from the river so it should work and the only other plants near are flowers and a tree. Help?
What about next to concrete
They'll grow just fine, I use this in my town
HOW'D YOU ADD THE DIRT PATHS!? ARE THEY CUSTOM DESIGNS?
Now the switch is almost out
Can u water a saplings to much? Do you only need to water them once? I was told water them 3 times.
you don't have to water them at all actually! they grow by themselves :)
Can you tell us how you made those dirt paths? They look very cool
Run on the grass daily and all the time you are where you want your path to be , the grass starts to disappear after a while cant remember exactly how long tho maybe a few weeks,
@@StarrieMoonlight Oh cool
I know this is old but can you plant trees by the train tracks?
No, you can't, unless you leave 1 tile space between the train track fences and the trees.
What was that money tree in the background?
Anyone know if bushes/trees can plant by rocks? Im trying to plant a bush by the town hall but there's a rock in the way
Are the rules for trees the same in New Horizons?
whoever made the 7x7 rule is just evil

DazzaBound Thank you I understand now and have already made my tree growing corner of my map :)
Do houses count as buildings?
Scareii Roblox yup they do
none of bushes will flower :(
