firstly you need to sandpaper the shaft to get rid of the varnish coating on the shaft to make it permeable to steam otherwise the steam won't have any effect at all.
sec, you need to draw a vertical line with a pencil where it is bent then try to apply pressue to that line to straighten the cue and you ned to keep it in a vice with jaws tight and leave it to dry for a day or so.

Even though I bailed on this video after 10 minutes, that's 10 minutes of my life that's gone.

Make sure when stroking a bent cue that the bend is going up and down not left to right or right to left.

Thats funny.. I once took a old Meucci shaft that was bent just as bad that I got with a cue used.. Was strange both shafts came with the cue new one strait as arrow and one bent to hell.. Bobs son told me it was probably just a bad cut of wood.. Said to junk it it could not be fixed.. I sanded it down to open the wood and soaked it in a bathtub of hot water.. Then put it on books to hold the warp in other dir.. Let it dry while its being pressed down.. I got SOME of the warp out..

A word of advise, I do hope most of you know this, but DO NOT leave your cue in HOT or COLD areas. It will warp the wood no matter the quality of the wood. The change in temperature will warp it, especially if you carry it on your back to a pool hall in winter for 30 mins, then take into your house or pool hall right away. The wood gets shocked and will warp in 1 instance.

A little commentary woulda been more helpful to keep us interested. I see the shaft is Ash. Any chance you haven't been oiling the cue as needed for that kind of wood?

You get what you pay for. It would be different if you paid 600-1000.00 for it.
