I love your cues. I had one with a beautiful case my father left me when he passed away. It was my prized possession. But it was lost in a house fire. I remember as a child watching my father play. Very fond memories. I wish I could afford to buy another to pass on to my son. You are true craftsman and make a great cue. Thank you for this video it brought back great memories.
That’s nothing about handicraft , that’s a serial cue model , production time depends on the moisture content of the wood , that means when you doing some professional handicraft cue , you just can’t assemble all parts in one video , I don’t know how much this cue costs , I see which materials was used and how , for me this isn’t game instrument , I see a souvenir here
i am utterly ashamed of my country's production process. they throw semi finished goods around and severely damage finished products. Japan is indeed more passionate about their work. China must learn from Japan
@@ВальсПельс These Musashi cues sell for several thousand dollars and are appreciated by professionals around the world. If you can offer anything constructive relative to actually improving the production process go right ahead.
What an amazing amount of work going into it . Definitely not a stick you buy in macro for a couple of dollars . I've done a lot of wood turning on my life and would love to spend some time with these people to learn more about the process and make my own que
Back in the 70's Richard Helmstetter went to Japan to start up the Adam billiard company from America. The cue making process you are watching right now was mostly set up by Mr. Helmstetter himself. After that he went on to invent the Callaway Big Bertha driver in the 90's. Both Billiard/pool, and Golf industry owe great gratitude towards to this man.
Actually the company was spearheaded by Yuji Miki long, long before Helmstetter's involvement and before it was called "Adam" cues. They made many "signature" series and countless other series under- for other brands as well.
This is so incredible to watch. Seeing how much goes into a "simple" cue is incredible. Hats off to all the people working there who have mastered this craft!
@@notfiveoSo true, when you get used to a cue, there's no chaging it to a different brand. I have changed the butt once on my cue due to plastic grip that ages, but have had the same saft for a decade now. Ferrule was replaced once and tip 5-6 times.
Rubbish theres great craftsmen worldwide including the Japanese. This idea that every Japanese is some sort of grandmaster sitting on top off a mountain is BS!!
Excelente video.
Extremely interesting. I’ve never thought about how they were made. This type of video is at least one thing YT does right. Thanks for putting it out her for everyone to see.
Funt Fact: According to Efren Reyes, this the cue (Adam Cues) that he first used when he went to America to play professional pool. Now I can see why. Such craftsmanship 🫡
Those parts that can be automated for consistency, are. And there's plenty other parts that do still require a person's input, to maintain the level of quality. This is a really nice & insightful video! 👍 Thanks for sharing 🙏
The man who taught me how to build pool cues was adamant that they never be called sticks. He said, “a stick is what you pick up from your yard and throw to your dog. A pool cue is a manufactured implement for playing billiards”. Building cues is incredibly rewarding.
These are absolutely beautiful! I am... shocked that so many people are wearing long sleeves and hoodies while operating lathes. Doing so can get one maimed or killed.
I was on the fence about an Adams 3 cushion cue but now I think it will be my next one. I've seen several players at my local room who use them and swear by them. I'll get one used for the first time out. This was a great video!
Thanks, a beautiful end product. I had not realised they were made in so many sections, which makes it difficult to be true, ie straight, love the threading and stitching and all the attention to detail. I would own one just for the quality and appreciation of the work in producing it, and never use it.
いやぁ、いい動画を観させていただきました。
単なる“競技の道具”ではなく、工芸品でもあり、芸術品でもあるって感じました。

What an awesome memory and so sorry for that loss! I hope one day you get another and restart the tradition!
no matter what it is, I appreciate and love it when people spend their life perfecting one item. theres something very commendable about it.

Fascinating. Thanks for posting.
I have been lucky enough to receive a Helmstetter cue from the man himself! One of the best people I've had the pleasure to spend time with

Impressive!
Genius way to apply lacquer from a tipping box. The lady applying string to the handle has great skills - respect to her craftsmanship.

Haha, I was also looking for this, I guess they come prefab from another small woodshop.
Maybe that will be on the next video.
I had trouble understanding the narration

Factory get a lot of waste from wood during production.
There are many steps in the process, you have to cut to shape, grind, sand....
Ohh yes, i am agree with you
