You speak with such sympathy and understanding and pass it along effectively. This form of practice feels healthy, creative and good natured. Much pinging / resonances with Jung’s active imagination project. Hugely relevant topic, foundational.

Don't forget the influence of Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea with their trilogy "Illuminatus", which included the utterance "Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted", & the Philosophy of Discordism. Also Michael Moorcock's fantasy stories including "The King of Swords" where the magician Kwll gets rid of not only the Lords of Chaos but the Lords of Order as well.
I'm not sure that the use of the definitive article as with "THE PHILOSOPHY of Chaos Magic/k" is appropriate as Chaos Magicians tend to be Anarchistic & individual as is their philosophies.
To try to reconnect with the Kia is like a dog trying to be one with itself by catching its tail, it reaffirms the belief of disconnection, which isn't gnosis.
"Chaos Magic/k would say...", personification much?

Brilliant lecture, bravo! I've recently finished reading a book about Pete Carroll called "Interview with a Wizard". Fascinating read, it reveals a lot about his life, his philosophy, his magick and many other subjects. Listening to your lecture I was reminded of a couple of chaotes I used to know who experimented with radionic devices for magical purposes. One purchased a multi thousand dollar device from Germany with orgone generators, amplifiers, power electronics, the lot. The other used just a empty reinforced-carton box with just some external buttons and switches, just for the sleight of mind. You'd be really surprised if you knew who had more successes in magick.

I can't think of a more succinct, comprehensive, exemplary job that really explains the PoV of the many usually misunderstood aspects of everything from Left Hand Practices to how to create your own Sigil RITE NOW! • @frankcallo6630
      @frankcallo6630 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Ki/Chi. The most basic meaning of Chi, at least as far as I've been able to trace it, is "pole" *as in a ridge pole that separates a roof into a light and shade side). The "yin/yang" symbol is called Tai Chi (Supreme ultimate Chi(. Closer to the idea of chaos is Wu Chi. We is usually translated as "no" or "not", NOT Chi. Chi implies polarization, right/left, this/that, light/dark yin/yang. Wu Chi is almost unimaginable, unconceptualizable. So Wu Chi would look more like Kia while Tai Chi (or any "lesser" Chi would look more like Zos. At least this is how I read it from years spent in Taoist texts and the I Ching.

Channeling Buffy is a brilliant idea. Ive found that even "invented" deities leave either a void (in chaos magick, a place for KIA to flow) or an invitation (in the mystic sense, Buffy would certainly get the attention of Arftemis, Diana, etc...) it's led to some very unique and incomprehensibly weird experiences but thats what I signed up for, thanks as always for your insight!

I have always been very fascinated by Chaos Magick. I think it's probably the most seminal modern development in recent esoteric history. And also it seems tailor made for isolationists like myself who came stomach joining hierarchical organizations with vague (and costly) benefits.
This talk was one of the best I've heard on the subject. Both informative and succinct.
I do wonder that you mentioned the books Liber Null and Psychonaut in the talk but don't list them in the references. Did you access these books or were they simply not useful enough?
Also, as a note to others, in perusing the transcript I definitely noticed that the transcript includes info that isn't actually in the speech itself. Especially in the section discussing gnosis. Definitely worth it for people to look at the transcript.

Not too far from the formula my Christian witch Auntie shared with me. (She wouldn’t have called herself a witch, but she was definitely sharing magic spells).
She told me to draw what I wanted my future to be, put it someplace I would see at least three times a day, and say a certain ‘prayer’ three times every time I stared at the picture.
This is much more redacted, as you say, trimmed down to only what is necessary, but it feels very close. I like the concept of the Kia, too. The world is full of unlimited potential energy. We only have to draw it in, focus it. I will go to the library and find Austin Osman Spare’s books.

The only thing i need is very determent, i do all good, but when something has to change to keep te Balance, i go straight to the source in a short time i touch the sourc with the thing that has to happen, all good vibes and pure open hearted and manifest it, is goes normally, i never read a book about it.

What is, is; the idea that you can't seperate anything from existence. The claiming of your own authority within that Existence; the acceptance of external influence, though everything is from a common source. I think the Idea is you do not proclaim what you don't know, but your not going to concede to another authority aside from respect to that common existence(source). I am not well read on Chaos Magic, so this is more of a question? I've been practicing my whole Life.

I remember one hallmark was to take tantric left hand path techniques out of context (under the guise of removing the layers of superstition and religiosity). For example, you would spend a specified amount of time (week, month, etc) only referring to yourself in the 3rd person. In taking these techniques out of context, as practitioners we had hubris. The broad danger is that it's easy to fool ourselves, precious egotism and so on. Hasta la vista

My understanding of the word "magick" refers to the worship of body fluids found within Thelema and body parts talismanically it's weird for me personally to see the word outside of this context nowadays.

13:30 it seems like vageta moving on to yet another new thing and being cocky somewhat having a lasting conservative ring abled for furthering by the alignments made of the sourcely to the task, or like Goku being more playful and invoking a sentimental enchantment into the auxiliary source while looking like a syllogistic enthememe but actually being a syllogism after sending what is more held by him for a time before maybe ‘throwing his aura’ like ashtakanma siddhi explained well for you by Nithyananda; vageta is definitely the syllogismistic enthememe while knowing that at the actual time of action is able to afford then being a syllogism that is safe and non wasteful, yummy (do these correspondences resonate? 😂.

I thought their was a belief in Chaos Magic that there is no real truth, that they emphasize 'belief' to change their reality, whatever they want to believe, in a way which is similar to solipsism or relativism, as opposed to acknowledging there is objective truth. And I certainly believe truth is objective and knowable, so not sure I agree with Spare's religious beliefs here if that is actually what he believed (or maybe it was his followers who later emphasized that aspect of it? Maybe wikipedia is wrong? Ha I wouldn't be surprised) Very interesting nonetheless

Very helpful in understanding some very abstract ideas. I understand the psychological understanding model in the occult, ( not a practitioner..only an artist) it’s helpful for me as an artist, not sure in ways how different magician are from artists….? There is a lot of crossover..
but I wonder If it is limited at times? Not a scholar, so I ask this with humility.. I have a friend and practicing magician/occultist.. and he has a great saying, “it’s Jungian until it isn’t..” at what point does a thing become limited and needs to change ? Like language or logic has its limit, then we go full subconscious where the language of that realm is symbol, allegory, apology.. etc.. hopefully I am making sense…? This is why I paint… I am better with images..
but a very simple example is, it’s jungian until the practitioner , in the circle sees a entity… I know you address this briefly, but could you expound on this concept for a feeble mind😂😂😂🙏…?

I know nothing about chaos magic other than what you describe, it sounds to me like people searching for a cleaner path among predetermined paths set forth by generations of beliefs.
But I will comment on the sort of basis for anti-nomian thought within logical thought.
You have cult A, they have piety rules that value upward us behaviors and value downward them behaviors.
You have cult B and their rules.
You have cult C and their rules.
And when you look at these cults they tend to have power figures who determine whether the rules are being followed
And when you examine the history of the cult it looks likes the rules evolved to empower select groups at the expense of other groups. For example you bring you first fruits to the temple, you offer your first born to sacrifice or pay a priest.
And so if you see these other cults as following something and following away from something, the their piousness is also a falling away. And so piety rules in themselves dont have any value out side the cult, and if you leave the cult they shouldn't have value to the self. In regard to the divine, again divinity is a human projection, so what piety rules should one project within the self to the self.
And so to say rules have no value, thats not the case, rules can have value, but they dont have value just because a cleric or cultic text tries to project value.
Lets take the Thou shall not kill, its one of the 613 laws of Moses, and the followers of moses seem to be doing a good job at the moment of divinating justification to kill, just as "Moses" decided it was a good idea to kill the midianites. Whereas the question is asked weren't the midianites his belived wife and family? What is the function of a rule if a priest can come up with reasons to break the rule? If you believe murder is bad, then thats how you should live, you dont need a rule, just live you internal mores.
The second issue here is reality. We live between two definitions of reality and truth, that which we percieve and physical circumstances which at some level devolve into fuzziness.
And so reality is never well defined. In science what is true, scientist almist use the word. The reason is this, when you work at the bench, results are never unique and punctate. The closest you can get to the truth most times is to have several independent perspectives that tell you were truth isnt. For example the wavefunction of an electron shot through a double slit can land practically land anywhere in the universe, the nodes of probability extend away from the center each subsequently lower probability, vanishingly low at extreme distances. This is the truth, we don't know, no matter how precise the equipment were the electron will register.
And so we get back to functional realities and function truths. When you breath your last breath your dead. When the sun comes over the horizon you feel heat. If a villian fires a high power rifle at a person, and the person dies, he is a murderer. These are realities we create to abstractly understand and simplfy the world. But reality has been misused. Lets take a look at 2 cor 12, whether in the body or out, that is to say Paul is equating his experience with actually traveling outside his body and seeing something he thinks, at some level is real. He then used that reality to do certain things that by an outsider observer would seem untrue, many died thinking they would be drawn up to the kingdom of heaven coming on Earth, it did not happen.
We have to question the realism others present, because we dont know how they are filtering what they percieved. Most westerners believe that Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected, but the texts they use seem to be saying this well after the early witnesses claimed they had visions, not actually observing a dead body rise. And so these belief based creeds have to be interoggated.
There is one mythical story, a man, a pious man, the world turned against him. And men of faith gathered around him to explain with sophist logic why he sinned so his god has punished him. And his ordeal persisted and got worse. And he spoke up to his god and challanged. And his god got up and grandstanded nonsense and then released him from his torment. The man learned a valuable lesson, believe not the words of experts on piousness, and external divinities are always inadequate to explain and quasibenevolent, they never offer what you think. The best you can hope for is to find divinity within. I thinks thats the point about religion where you jump of the orthoreligion wagon.

Anti-Nomian i found funny because being antinomian is a kind of piety. If you really are against piousness theb restrict this too parctices that divine people into groups. What if some cukture has a rule that you should not pee on the floor of a house, then do you pee on the floor of the house?

I'm new to the idea of chaos magick. But it's intriguing.
It sounds like what it's lacking is a context-free language to describe the principles of the system independent of individual use.
Has anyone tried to approach this problem using category theory? It seems like a potentially useful way to clarify the nature of what chaos magick appears to be doing.
It seems reasonable that a sigil magick spell is based on a correspondence (functor) between the sigil (diagram) and the desired manifestation (image of the diagram in some category or "context"). So it sounds like the magick is based on embedding that correspondence into the subconscious and forgetting the implementation of the embedding.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding and/or oversimplifying? Just some thoughts....
