The first one is a masterpiece ! The guy who plays Adam is one of the writers of this movie with James Wan. They made this on only 1.2 million dollars and the movie made 103 million at the box office even though I’d love to see your reactions to the rest of the franchise I wouldn’t blame you if you two didn’t. The torture and body mutilation in the games really ramp up after this one and each movie gets more and more graphic so some scenes are hard for me a very huge fan of the franchise to even watch so no pressure!
Probably one of the first reactions where people at the end aren't going apeshit and screaming the whole time. When I saw this in the cinema, I was literally just like you two. Absolutely dumbfounded and completely in stunned silence. Bravo!
It's amazing that I've seen princess bride at least half a dozen times, and also Saw about half a dozen times and have never recognized him as the same person.
@@michaelcorman4859recently a friend of mine said the same thing when we were discussing different actors that we both felt should have been bigger stars, and he thought Elwes should have been, I agreed, but then he said Men in tights was the last movie he was in that he saw😁 and I asked if he had seen saw, he asked why I was changing the subject, lol and it was then he found out lol
What a ride THAT was! Even after 19 years, this movie still gets me with jump scares and the cringes even though I've seen them all several times each. You two did it justice. Thank you for that! I enjoyed watching this with ya'll!
Awesome reaction! Asia was hilarious after the twist, she was so blind sided! I'ts a big twist for sure and the music ("Zep's Theme") is tense and a classic now. "Saw II" is definitely worth watching too! This movie is directed by James Wan (Malaysian-Australia) and he was only 28 years old when he made it. He also directed the two "Conjuring" movies and "Dead Silence" which you've watched. You know need to watch his other terrifying film "Insidious" (2011)! Asia's reaction will be amazing! James Wan is a modern horror great, he's had major influence over modern horror and his films clearly resonate with huge audiences. - "Saw" is now a 10 movie franchise - "Insidious" is 5 movie franchise - The Conjuring Universe (includes Annabelle, Nun, etc) is 8 movies Youse killing it this October!
This is such an amazing movie. It’s not all that bloody or gory, especially compared to the sequels, but this film is great regarding the story and characters. The twist at the end is one of the best twist endings in a movie. It’s cool you guys watched this, I hope you’re doing well. Have a great day and weekend. Happy Friday the 13th everybody!
Yeah, this is one of those films that heavily influenced so many films that it suffers without that context. However, that is saying something, because this pretty much started a subgenre and like any film with a ridiculous amount of sequels gets lost in the shuffle.
This flick creeped me the eff out when it was first out. I'm not even really watching it the way I did before and it still sends chilled up the back of my legs.
9:23 Whats gonna bug you guys out even more is this... When they introduce John Kramer (Jigsaw) in the hospital, he is holding one of the penlights he keeps "borrowing" in his hand, and there is a drawing of new design of the Reverse Bear Trap on the table. THE CLUES WERE RIGHT THERE!!!
The twists and turns in every single Saw film are phenomenal 😮 ! The Saw series is amazing! It sadly gets a false label as “torture porn”, but it’s mostly just detective/thriller/crime. Like 10% violence, 90% story. Saw 1-6 is a very solid amazing series 🙂
My favorite thing about this reaction... you guys didn't recognize the doctor. That was the same guy that played Wesley in The Princess Bride and the mayor in Seasone 3 of Stranger Things.
This was the best of the entire series. They could have done no more and I would have been totally satisfied! Great suspense, good acting/actors , good practical effects, etc. Glad you liked it!! :)
"I want to play a game." Fun Fact: Was filmed in 18 days. Movie Magic Fact: Leigh Whannell and James Wan confirmed that when Adam begins to smash Zep (Michael Emerson) with the toilet lid, he is actually hitting a garbage bag full of fake blood. Subtle Camera Storytelling Fact: Director James Wan wanted the camera movements to reflect the two main characters' emotions and personality. He filmed Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes) with steady controlled shots and Adam (Leigh Whannell) as handheld shots to capture their emotions of the situation. Gun Enthusiast Fact: As Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes) is loading the cartridge into the revolver to shoot Adam (Leigh Whannell), the camera briefly shows all six chambers of the cylinder to be empty. Revolvers don't eject spent cartridges, yet the man on the floor was supposed to have shot himself with the same gun. What looked to be a continuity error is actually a subtle foreshadowing to the twist ending.
Whoever does y'all's editing is one of the best in the business for sure. Just saying, we appreciate your good work at capturing great moments and telling a story in your own edit. Great stuff.
I'm sure most of the commenters have pointed out that with these films, the best part is usually the twist ending. When this was released, no one seen it coming at all and people were so shocked and surprised. Over the years, it has long since became a tradition within the Saw universe and the musical score by Charlie Clouser is simply sublime! Without it, it wouldn't had worked otherwise! Hope you guys continue to watch these. Some are better than others but I never get sick of watching people's reactions. You guys are off to a good start!

This movie and Se7en probably have the best ending twist of any movie I've watched. It was a great reaction and I'm glad that you two seemed to genuinely enjoy it despite the creepy/suspense factor.
The funny thing is that Saw X or 10th takes place in the story between the 1st and 2nd movie, so technically you could go ahead and watch that movie and understand xD But better ask the rest of the subs because I think majority would prefer if you guys watch 2nd movie after this one instead on jumping to the 10th.
There is a saw escape room in Las Vegas you can go to. They have a lot of the props from the saw movies, including the bathroom! It is not really as dirty in real life as it is in the movie. It was just painted that way,
Adam is still alive because John says he won’t keep anymore secrets from Lawrence:what other secret could be hidden from him besides Adam being alive John: But I cleaned up your mistakes. I wish so hard I could watch this movie for the first time again just for the ending. I remember being in the theater and every single person sat there, jaw dropped.
I was so excited to see that you guys finally reacted to SAW. I have been suggesting it for a while now. ❤John Kramer (Jigsaw) is one of the most interesting characters in movie history, imo. Please don't wait long to react in between movies. You need to really pay attention to the movies and they all connect. Can't wait for SAW 2!!!!!
Honestly; Adam searching his apartment via camera flash is one of the best-done jumpscares ever. Also they hinted at the body in the middle; when the old man in the drill trap wakes up, Jigsaw says "awake already? I'll need stronger tranquilizers next time." He was sedated the entire movie (Zepp had one remote for electrocuting the chains, and Jigsaw had a backup).

Leigh Whannell and James Wan are an incredible writing/directing duo!! You should also react to The Good Son with Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone) and Elijah Woods (Lord of the Rings) in it!
Actually, this film gets so deep into your psyche, people only *think* it's gory. There's actually very little gore on screen, as it almost always pulls/cuts away, but your brain fills in the gaps because of the few very brief bits of gore it does show. It's absolutely brilliant filmmaking. Go watch the first one again if it's been a while and actually take note how little gore is actually visible. Now, the sequels get pretty ridiculously gory, but I think the idea of being forced to mutilate yourself is what makes Saw really terrifying and disturbing.

I saw this movie back in 2004 or 2005. I, too, was shocked at the ending. I have never seen the sequels.
This is such an underrated movie! Specially at the end with the amazing soundtrack and Adam screaming in the darkness. Thank you for the reaction.
