@22:00. I’m not afraid to buy inventory…. I still have a ton of inventory and the best strategic move for me now is to limit cash outflow and try to sell the inventory I have. My sales suck bad, and it’s not going to get better anytime soon. Now I do agree with Scott, that I would be buying inventory if I had a ton of cash. But that is only if you can sit on that inventory for a long time and you don’t need immediate money to pay bills. So it totally depends on your situation. Cash flow is king in reselling, I don’t think that is talked about enough TBH.
My attitude towards online selling is to act just the same as if i had a store on main street. Good, timely communication, i try to do my photos as it was me standing in store holding item in my hand looking it order. It's business. Don't take it personal. I'm an anything seller, i don't expect to have many repeat customers, but i try to provide the experience, as if they were a big customer. Same whether an inexpensive, low profit or high end. Buying at good price and managing cost of shipping materials & such is what helps bottom line. Customer service and the principal of Do unto others.
Thank you for a great video. I believe that regulations are inevitable in a business which has shareholders and Boards watching over every action. We, as sellers, should take the responsibility to do the best we can to sell only safe and authentic items. If you have a doubt, don’t sell it.
Adding to what Beard said about sellers being mad at buyers for opening returns. It goes the other way as well. There are ALOT of bad buyers and scammers out there who would probably never act like they act IN PERSON in a store. But because their identity is hidden online it easy to be abusive to sellers as well.
I recently made a tik tok video that talked just about that how there are so many sellers now selling courses, selling merch and how the community changed. The amount of hate i received from that post was astonishing
I agree with Scott, that this world has changed so much. How we treat one another is everything! I am also finding that people are showing hate for Californians, and it's our government that is causing the problem, not us that "DID NOT" vote for them. Sometimes I hear TH-camrs lash out about West Coast people assuming that we are all the same and that can't be further from the truth. The judgement is hurtful, but I get it. That's been bothering me a lot, so it's good to get it out. Thanks to all those who do not judge us personally here on the west coast. We work hard to make a living here, too. Thank you for visiting California, Josh, and thank you for the podcast guys! I feel at home in this group.
So many people in the USA have zero concept of what california is like. It's like some elusive boogeyman to them. They fail to understand how rural most of it is (which is hilarious when people from the Midwest fail to miss that many parts kf california are even more remote than where they life)
A narrative is like a room on whose walls a number of false doors have been painted, while within the narrative, we have many apparent choices of exit, but when the author leads us to one particular door, we know it is the right one because it opens- Quote
I've been a hobbyist seller on eBay for close to 20 years. Every so often I watch "guru" content just to have something playing in the background. If you approach it as newbie re-sellers paying for someone to hold their hand, it takes some of the edge off. The content has zero value to an experienced seller. None. When someone in Florida goes to a flea market in January and comes back with a car full of clothes, that has no value to a re-seller in Nebraska where those flea markets don't exist and those clothes aren't being donated. As an aside, there is enormous deflation taking place in the art and furniture markets right now. Especially within Canada where items are trapped by outrageous shipping rates.
Regulations UGH! So many items to sell I have that Ebay does not allow already and Josh is saying it's going to get worse. Example - US Military MREs Meals Ready to Eat. Ebay does not allow sales of them because of the chemical food heating packet enclosed. Example - Sold a military knife to someone in Ireland. Ebay refunded the buyer and allowed me to keep the money but the knife was confiscated. I wonder where it is now? Example - Many cannot afford CPAP machines for their health and I have had opportunities to purchase them at many estate and garage sales. Too bad I cannot help a needy person as Ebay does not allow sales because they come with a prescription required. Example - It's OK for an estate sale company, or garage sale, or auction house to sell a Corning coffee pot, but not allowed on Ebay because they are recalled.
Yes Josh... I was one of those late nighters that caught your live... there are many who listen while we work... I don't listen to many ebay anymore because after 7 years it's a lot I already know... so the learning part I don't need unless something changed OR I need a kick in the butt with a get going lol... but other communities also have drama... some are insane drama too!! Like watching a bad reality show on steroids!! 😮 ebay drama is 1% of those like True Crime! So yes jump on live anytime and we're around and happy to listen and or chat...
I appreciate being able to comment on Jon's and Josh's live chats unfortunately I am blocked on the beards conspiracy channel. Watching a live chat that you are excluded from isn't worth my time. So I guess I should thank Scott for the wake up call not to waste my time.

@@Watchingitnow-b2r I think one of the issues is that eBay bought the card seller COMC which sells on the eBay platform. A lot of card sellers are saying that their traffic numbers are down and COMCs traffic numbers are up after eBay bought them. I don’t know enough about the market, but VAR did a few articles on it.
Yeah, there were several big groups before DR and many in other fields of interest. It is not a proprietary product that can be stolen. Look at the self motivation arena and all the paid content.
I guess the same could be said of Daily Refinement stealing the idea from the Green Room. Very little originality out there. What separates them all is execution and Tech has obviously executed on his business better than the rest. Hes not in it to make friends but to make money, he is clear in that. Not sure why other entrepeneurs are so salty over his success. It's business, not an experiment on your feelings.

4:00 I don’t know luxury watches and I ended up buying a fake one. 😅
I had to make a video about it just to try and earn the money back.

Your sales will get better if you have better inventory. It'd as simple as that. Getting better inventory is the hard part.
Good episode.

this is the most useful thoughtful reseller podcast on TH-cam.
I’ve started watching you guys now that I am starting eBay over as my almost fulltime gig! My life after Amazon.

Some of the worse treatment Ive seen on eBay feedback are buyers going at sellers both barrels, very vile and nasty. It goes both ways.

It will take them awhile to move everything over for sure. I think they said they have 40,000,000 cards in their inventory
