Ah I knew it was the INNOCN monitors. I have one of their 4k monitors and it looks absolutely stunning. This particular model does have a built-in battery as well as MPP support.
the 13.3” is $144 and 15.6” is $188 rn on amazon! an absolute steal for the 15.6”, it was literally 350 a couple days ago
FYI: iPadOS 17 is going to support usb video later this year. This means you can also use iPad with a capture card to accept video input from any HDMI devices.
The latency is gonna be like crap though.
It's taken them this long to allow that? Lol. Typical apple
Input? This means ipad could be a portable monitor? If yes, how would you do the conection with the capture card, what is the role of the capture card, u can use just the usb to hdmi out, then you plug the hdmi cable in the adapter, so i dont see the point of the capture card
@roguegorilla8981 I know right
I've been using my iPad as an external monitor for a few weeks now and it works well. There is a very very slight latency though but that is dependent on your capture card.
I love set ups like this a mini PC with a portable monitor like this can be portable emulation gaming set up!
Or your remote workstation to connect securely to your server somewhere else. In short, a disposable and safe way when working whilst traveling abroad.
Thanks for the great video. I just bought one because of it for my rog ally and Xbox series s for when I travel with work.
Just picked one up the 13 inch on prime day, really nice! Using it for a Steam Deck arcade build.
What about latency for retrogaming? Is it worth for retro platform games like mario, donkey kong, contra, arcade shotemups
@@danbad1380 it’s been great so far , no notice able lag issues
I ended up getting this monitor to telework two days a week and it works great!
I got one of these a couple months ago and it has been great! I play my PS3 and Wii U on it sometimes, used it for my Series S briefly but mostly use it as an extra monitor or for tinkering on my Steam deck or ROG Ally. I got the 13”
Hey, thinking about getting it for my Ally. Is the 30W passthrough charging enough to keep its charge when gaming on 25W or so?
What about latency for retrogaming? Is it worth for retro platform games like mario, donkey kong, contra, arcade shotemups
@@danbad1380 Didn’t notice much of a difference when trying it out initially. Then again I didn’t spend too much time testing as I only use it for gaming on my older consoles and as a “tinkering” monitor.
Thanks for having a look at these, I’ve been looking for portable monitors that at I can use for both gaming and work uses. Do you think the color coverage numbers can be trusted?
Been Rocking this monitor on my steam Deck for about 1 1/2 years. The best Quality in the Game.
Also paired it with a Incase MacBook 16in accesories laptop soft case. Fits Perfectly. Keeps the Screen From getting Scratched when Traveling.
What about latency for retrogaming? Is it worth for retro platform games like mario, donkey kong, contra, arcade shotemups
I got an android yoga tab 13 with HDMI in for $380 last year and I've been loving it. Powerful and lasts a week with a couple hours of video each day. I only charge it on the one day I WFH and use it as a third display.
But that Lenovo tablet is not OLED.
LCD = 🤮🤮🤮
I love mine. Highly recommend for first monitor to and entry build.
I needed this video 👾😺👍🙌👌
I bought the UPerfect 2k 120hz monitor with freesync for $160 and it's 16 inch display and it's amazing.
They're probably all the same displays and internals. Maybe slightly different housings.
I have been coming back and forth between buying it or not. It's a great portable monitor, but how much wattage per hour does it need? (I want to use it outside home with a powerbank )
there are 14 inch and 16 inch 120hz oleds available in laptops, I dont understand why nobody is making them into portable screens. Might just buy the panel and hack together a portable monitor myself.
It’s clear in your video that rog ally screen is really very capable one and matching an oled in colors and contrast!
yeah but u are watching it on a video maybe it's different in person, altho i agree a lot of times when people bring up how much better oled is and then u see some phones for example with lcd screens in person vs ones with oled there isn't some crazy difference and they both look great in their own way
Have the 13 inch and I love it.
As soon as we can get one with power passthrough high enough to give you 30w turbo on the ally, I’m buying it, no matter what the price is
Just get a RedMagic or Viture charge and play adapter. Problem solved.
$10,000 take it or leave it
I can get you one for $9000 and an extra $999 for delivery. Also comes with 14 days no questions asked returns and 2 year warranty. Delivery will take 15 days and the warranty is only valid if you pay via BTC 👍
@@sdmods619 I want a true single cable solution, I can already use a dock/hub if I wanted more cables and adapters
@@nickjacobsss you haven't seen the viture adapter. Sleek an slim
i have 15.6 ich led for xbox series s but oled screen look so good even from screen to screen i can tell is amazing💕
Figured it out pretty dope
You could review some of these new AR/display glasses like Rokid Max, even smaller killer combo with mini pcs I guess... although I'm waiting until they release some with QHD resolution at least personally
Have the 15" INNOCN and it's been really nice for portable monitor use, both with MacBook and with Steam Deck. Other times it's in use as a DMD display for my Visual Pinball setup. The contrast is great, colours really pop and screen refresh (although it's only 60 Hz) is as good as it always is with an OLED. Found mine on a 100€ discount from Amazon, so definitely pays to wait for a discounted price.
Wish they were that price now on Black Friday but the OLED is 249€ and the other one 236€ 😢
What about latency for retrogaming? Is it worth for retro platform games like mario, donkey kong, contra, arcade shotemups
With steam deck do you use a dock and HDMI ?
I have one of these but I really wanted 120hz so I bought a 2k 120hz one with freesync that's coming today. It's not Oled but it should look fine.
Yes i also bought several 2k portable monitors with 144hz and they are quite OK for the price. Sad there is STILL not a single 120 hz 4k portable monitor I'm existence
Love the content, any way of using your Samsung tablet as an external monitor??
It would have been nice if you showed the ports and sides.
I bought this last year form around 230, it’s great, I believe you can run the display with only 1 usb cable, but for some reason it doesn’t work anymore, something with the steam deck.
I have the pu15-pre from innocn. Nice monitor for gaming or TH-cam with steam deck
iOS 17 Beta adds support for video capture devices. Using my ipad pro as a monitor for my ROG ally through a camlink right now.
The intro to this channel is soooo good!
LOL@Sub-Zero vs Rambo. Cheeers from the Mortal Kombat Conquest Site!
I've been using this on PC and PS5 for a year now. The image quality is amazing and at 15.6 inch size you don't miss having 90 or 120Hz much. I even prefer playing games on it over my 27 inch monitor.
If you're planning to use this at a desk with multiple systems, get a Greathtek HDMI Matrix Switch along with it. This way you can hook up 4 HDMI devices and a 3.5mm jack audio.
no burn in yet?
@@jaapjoop1093 Nope. But on average I've probably used it 3-4 hours per week over a years time. Some would have a lot more hours within that time than me, the enthusiast who would always use this would use this 10-12 hours every week.
@@memo29b ah ok thanks for the reply. I am just wondering ff these cheap oled screens have anything build in to counter burn in issues with frequent pc use for example
@@jaapjoop1093they don't have that no. A benefit they do have is that they're very low power displays and don't heat up that much during use especially around 50% brightness. Heat is one reason monitors or screens would burn in faster. For example, smartphones do heat up more overall and so do monitors and large TVs. As a result that affects the OLED display longevity too, but in turn they do have certain burn in protection features built in though.
@@memo29b ah good to hear, i might give it a go then
they don't seem to have any burn in protection pass nevertheless you did good to activate auto hide the task bar .
this is interesting to use with my switch
Ya i picked up a 15.6 in oled for pretty cheap(there alot cheaper now) and i use it as an extra monitor for specs and aida 64 (and when i need a portwble screen i have one)
Seems nice for coop multiplayer games, but for other than that, the IPS screen of ally is already pretty beautiful
I really don't understand why displays of laptops/tablets can't take video input through a usb c port. Why do they only send video out?
Thx ETA. You might be delighted to check out UBegin J8 (4K) model sold by uperfectmonitors. Nice specs and price on that one.
Kindest regards, neighbours and friends.
Have you tried playing DS or 3DS emulation with this to have dual screen perhaps?
I am trying to set up trading set up i think i will have to look in to these.
I like the idea of portable displays, but I've never found a genuine use case for one.
My wife and I gave Samsung S series phones that support Dex and video out. We travel this 13-inch monitor, so there is no need to bring our laptops.
A portable monitor with a mini PC is pretty fun when you don't want to use a lot of space in the living room.
You can check the Acer pm oled 8 it’s 4k oled with certified HDR and 1ms respond time and touch screen
If a screen takes up the only power input of the Ally in order to connect to it, then you can't honestly say they pair up nicely. So I guess streaming over wifi is still the best alternative.
I currently got a KYY portable 15.6 monitor on sale. It gets tue job done, but I wonder if u should should get this oled screen instead 🤔 I mostly use my screen for GamePass Cloud gaming on my downtime at work. Do you guys think it's worth it?
Does the monitor have an OTG port or some additional port where you could plug in a USB dongle or hub? I have an older portable monitor that has one and it comes in handy when using the monitor with devices that have a single USB c port such as the Steam Deck.
I have the 4k version of this monitor I really like it for my laptop and steamdeck.
Waiting for a 8 inch Full HD portable monitor since ages. Why does not they exsit?
Can you try new portable monitors from waveshare please?
What about latency for retrogaming? Is it worth for retro platform games like mario, donkey kong, contra, arcade shotemups, fighting games...? Thanks a lot for ypur help
What portable monitors do you recommend that will allow 30watt turbo mode?
Can this monitor supply the rog ally with 65 watts or is manual mode with maximum values possible? Can you use a dock with an hdmi to usb c cable to operate the monitor via the dock to use the whole thing as a complete computer?
Rounded corner is so cute
Im liking this monitor but is there a case that pairs well with it? I like the magnetic stand but i would also like to cover it with a magnetic case similar to what a tablet has
I use my Tab S7 Plus as a Windows display with an app called SuperDisplay. With the correct cable it can do touch, 1600p, 120hz screen with no issue. The catch is that it's only for Windows.
I do the same with my S8 Ultra. Works extremely well, and it's a really nice extra bonus use of my tablet.
So when you are changing the wattage for all the different games, can you have save profiles for games?
Where is the Amazon link for that nice sized USB c display cable? Hard to find good quality and all the ones I have are way to long. 😆
Can you test how this would compare to those ar glasses, some supports 120hz
Is this Monitor 13.3 inch good to use in flight? Room is the concern while in flight by airplane
These would be great if were foldable!
Maybe you could try next time the lenovo tab extreme next time, it is 14.5 inch oled display 120 hz with loud speaker running android with dimensity 9000 it's will be android tablet or use it as external display it's like 2 in 1 plus huge battery.
I'm new to portable monitors. I don't see the refresh rates on the product page. Only the resolution and the response time. Is that because the refresh rate is coming from the device itself and not the monitor and the monitor is only displaying the picture?
Can you please share why you have only made 1 video with the XG mobile?
Prime what overlay are you using thanks.
Looks cool for the price, but I'd personally pay a little more for one of the micro oled ar glasses for a portable screen
I picked up the 15.6" OLED monitor 2 months ago and I'm LOVING it. This together with the Steam Deck or the Xbox Series S is an absolute blast. Hell, even for retro gaming with something like the Anbernic RG353P or RG35XX (as long as it has HDMI out). The picture and contrast are absolutely stunning.
After getting this and a 55" LG OLED last year, I can only say: I will never go back to LCD or IPS.
LCD still have the advantage of brightness as well no burn out pixels.
@@smidlee7747 both true! It's not like OLED has no downsides. But the picture and color quality is something else.
@@smidlee7747 Yeah, but brightness is extremely overrated. Burn-in is an overblown issue as well, though it may be a problem for PC usage.
@@juanblanco7898 Brightness is more important the more sunlight enters the room. Brightness helps counters glare. If you have a more closed off room then yes brightness is not as important.
@@smidlee7747 Indeed. Though it's always much better for both image quality and our eyes to dim the viewing environment than to up the display brightness if possible.
If I could get the ps portal with a 13" 120hz 1440p oled display I'd be very very happy. I'm considering figuring out how to get something equivalent built myself.
Hey could you look at the C-force CF011X 15.6 inch portable monitor
What's the weight of the 15.6 inch display?
Boss how did you connect your mouse and keyboard is that bluetooth connected to rog ally?
just curious, can i connect the OLED portable monitor to my desktop monitor as 2nd screen while conveniently connecting another 2 cable from desktop monitor to CPU and another laptop? will it power through my desktop monitor?
Right now on amazon US is 185 dollars for prime members 15.9 inch model
I love me some OLEDs but I'm gonna wait for them to be 120Hz at least.
In the meantime I'm using a 17" 1440p 144Hz IPS portable monitor. The colors on it are crazy. Having 1440p is key for me as I could use my mClassic to scale up any lower resolution content up to 1440p. Also 720p on the computer will scale up better as well.
They exist already. They are just pricey
A hundred and twenty flirts

IPS LCD = 🤮🤮🤮
17 inch? I could only find 16 inch 1440p 120hz displays. Colors are decent, but damn does it need some calibration. Also speakers sucks.
There's also an 18 inch display, but that cost way more than the 16 inch displays I found. Got one for 145 usd total.
what is strongest for games? mini pc amd 6800u (cost?) or ally 800 euros. have no idea, find something to take with you on the road, however on TV
60 hz on OLED is like 90 hz on IPS so all in all pretty good for the price and I think its 400 nits brightness got 370 on testing
How do you keep both on? When I connect the USB c cables the rog ally screen is blank?
do you still use it ?
and what case do you use ?
i am scared of scratches
Does this happen to magnetically mount with MagSafe too?
do you have idea to connect portable monitor by Usb type C and still keep Rog Ally charging? I tried many ways but not at all working
how do you charge the asus ally, if the type C port already being used by monitor?
If you connect a phone via usbc to one port, and connect a usbc pd adapter to the other port, will the monitor deliver power back to the phone?
how u r running ally at 30w , when conencted via usb c display cable to the monitor ?
ally will go to 30w turbo mode only when u get 65w charging right ?
Can you please advise ?
Pretty cool but I decided to go with a bigger 18” lcd from amazon that’s 144hz and a 2k screen
Sadly monitors like this usually don't have Freesync/VRR for games and don't support 24/48/72hz mode for cinema
is it just me or is the external screen showing the image earlier than the integrated Ally screen? This would mean there is lots of input lag/delay on the Ally if you can see it so easily...
OLEDs response times are at least 2-3 times faster than IPS. Ally's screen may display a full frame in ~6 ms, while OLED may do it in ~2 ms. I don't know the exact values for both panels, though, so the difference may be even greater.
Bummer it’s not 120 Hz and VRR (VRR being the most important to me)
-know of any?
I need your settings to play in HDR, how to calibrate?
Can i use this screen as an 2nd screen for the ASUS ROG Ally?
Is there a way to connect the rog ally to this screen and at the same time charging it?
I wish they would make a version of this with a samsung 3k 15.6 inch 120hz screen (similar to the one found in asus vivobooks) .
Can't wait for them to bring out portable monitors that can expand like the Galaxy Fold.
The closest thing would be thinkpad fold x1 or zenbook fold
Been a thing for years dude. You need to catch up
I have the 15.6 for my steam deck
Yes
Does the monitor power the ally while it's connected?
Heck if they would only do 75 hz it would be a nice improvement.
Do either of these monitors support FreeSync?
have you seen Nreal/Xreal glasses?
wait did you power the mini pic FROM the portable monitor?
they used to have this monitor for like 140. It sucks that when i bought mine never turned on.
These handhelds with a screen already doesn't seem like the best use for this as it's only a little larger screen with more hassle to deal with. But if you had say a mini console with no other screen, this may be a good choice. Using as a screen for a large console like a PS5 is sort of silly though as the PS5 is hardly portable.
Yeah I’d say it makes the most sense with the Xbox series S. Hell, make a 3d printed frame and have it attached and you basically got a portable Xbox “laptop”
@@umamifan
Yep! Your comment even reminded me of someone's case mod that they called the 'Xbook One'.
@@kbhasi there is a product called the X-Screen that does exactly this. it looks pretty neat, would deff look better with an OLED panel like this one.
In what world is 13 and 15 inches "a little larger" than 7-8 inch screens that come in handheld pcs?
@@SicSemperBeats in what world is a PS5 portable?
I have a portable screen that can be powered by my galaxy s21 FE phone. Is this common? As this screen can not as ETA mentions....
Is the 6800u better than the Z1 extreme?
Can these monitors be powered via usb4 from um 780 xtx?
How do u get the rog ally screen to stay on when u plug it up to a monitor.
