Oddly enough this is EXACTLY what I've been searching for over the last few weeks. The features most lacking in existing options were full-size HDMI (while still being thin) and a built-in battery. I particularly love the full-size USB hub/host port feature. Shame it doesn't seem to be mentioned at all on their US/UK sites yet (still showing the V2).

    • @XGEOX
      @XGEOX ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@mikejaques4702 I do have a Fold 3 with DEX, with which it would be great; but the main thing I want such a device for is as a self-contained portable monitor for various headless devices I have around the home and office. If they become inaccessible over the network (or I need local access), a battery-powered monitor with full-size HDMI and a USB port for a keyboard would be super convenient.

Damn this can look great with the nucxi7. Kinda your own Surface pro but with proper x86 windows 11. If only power to the nucxi7(at lowest settings) could be done from this monitor but probably not possible. USB really need to get standardized, some ports support PD, another support charging, another set supports display port.

I bought a portable touch monitor with CDN $190 (tax included) from amazon. It was from china, 13.3 inch screen with touch support also had 400 nits brightness and HDR. It was cheap. Hello, EtaPrime. I've been enjoying your content a lot lately. I'd like to know your opinion in 3 thigs :)
Would you choose the steam deck + this screen over a same price tactile laptop?
Is there any tactile laptop that allows mid range gaming?
Does this screen allow you to use a mini pc without having to plug it to a wall?
Context: (you can skip reading this part, only personal info) I've been looking for a pc that allows me to use it as a notebook for university and work (like OneNote with a pen) but also one that allows me to play something like old assasins creeds at least, but i can't find any. All tactile pc's that i've been looking are really over priced for their specs...

Yea, the touch screen functions through the USB-C ports, but HDMI currently doesn't have that ability. A computer or Laptop that has a USB-C port, it might be possible. Too my understanding, I think I read recently of certain video cards start having USB-C port(s) on it, and may work through that as well.

*Perfect monitor for me but I am holding out for a V4/V5, which I am sure will be coming.*
*I say this because I already own 2 portable monitors.*
    *Blitzwolf & Espresso.*
*I know eventually they will drop the 3.5 audio cable, USB3.0 & HDMI to slim this down even more, most of the portable monitors started off with these same connections and then dropped them in newer versions to slim down even more.*
*So dropping those connections will allow this monitor to be slimmer, get even more life out of the battery and possibly increase to a 20000mAH.*

@@Samdevay Up to you, do the research.
TH-cam search Nitendo Switch & Portable monitor.
Too many brands, many of them are the same tech inside and a 3rd party is just ordering these 3D printed mass produced overseas and slapping their logo on it.
I know because one time I ordered a WiMaxit but then when it booted up it said Sibolan and when I complained the seller told me the IT guy forgot to re-program the boot-up logo.
Also depends on what you look for.
      SIZE
13 inch is perfect for me because it fits in a small sling bag and perfect size for plane, bus & train tray tables.
      FEATURES
Some have touch but when you use the Switch there is no touch.
Some have 4K but Switch does not output 4K
Some have 120hz but Switch doesn't go over 60
And now the new ones are starting to put portable batteries in the monitor.
Some are like Apple and removing the HDMI & Audio and only using USBC which allows the monitor to be even slimmer and more efficient.
But who knows what the Switch 2 has in store so buying one with all these features may be future proofing.

I personally have a Egobas Smart portable monitor also with battery. it has all these features (albeit a mini HDMI) and android TV but I sideloaded some alternative app stores so I can install apks that aren't restricted to the Google TV store sadly I don't believe there is a way to add the original play store and I plan to try flashing normal android but I already set up emulators and have been enjoying it as is for now so that will come when I get annoyed by the android TV experience.

Hey how's that egobas holding up for you... It's only available on aliexpress and I have bad history with shipping from them so is the product worth it 1 year later?

@@wHyNoTCaTs-ef4yh it was perfect but it's kind of slow when not using HDMI or USB C. Being an android tv OS made it harder to use things like retroarch and some streaming apps but the hassle wasn't too much I eventually got to play Megaman and Pokemon on it pretty easily. As a third monitor it's been great but I haven't taken good care of it since it's been falling from my desk tablet mount almost every other day. Which means it's incredibly sturdy. But the HDMI and USB C video stopped working recently and I'm not sure why. As a supplemental 3rd monitor it was just what it was, as a tablet it was good enough I watched 4 seasons of power rangers on it, and for gaming obviously bad but I was surprised I could even play up to GBA on it. So overall 8/10 might buy again

Are there any good portable OLED monitors? I'm curious as to what options we currently have.

The INNOCN DCI-P3 (15.6” OLED) is a stunner, but it doesn’t have a battery, and its speakers are lacking. It’s currently $200 on Amazon because of a $50 off Lightning Deal.

@@MichaelReineke Good point on the batteries, though, realistically, you'll probably want to upgrade to a new screen by the time the internal batteries are actually shot; and, whoops, I misspoke about the speakers--it does have them, but they're pretty lousy. Thanks for questioning, I edited my comment.

They only list the V2 on their website for now, and Amazon doesn't have the v3 either. When are they really coming out?
