The device is solid and built well. Fun to use and game on. The only question really is will the interest from consumers be there. Especially with competition from the likes of Valve, Logitech and others. While only time will tell. I do believe the handheld pc / device market is set to explode and I am here for it. Having everything myself from the Switch Oled to the Steam Deck, G Cloud and Razer edge I truly believe theres a different market and use case for each device.
I personally prefer my TV / laptop for gaming, although there is a market for mobile gaming, is it worth $399? Or $599 for the 5G version.. not sure especially with all of the other options currently available..
I owned the first kishi the one with no back support so it always disconnected. I got the backbone for 100 bucks and its changed mobile gaming for me. This looks exactly like it without the tablet
Well, folks...Gamers... Indeed chose: RaZeR Edge Tablet only / Ditched the Kishi V2 pro... 144hz 6.8 " Amoled Screen / Snapdragon G3x gen 1 / Verizon 5G Version / 8gb ram / 128gb internal storage + 512gb Samsung Evo MicroSD-Card Loaded... + or Paired with BsP D8 Bluetooth Controller ( Sky Black or Star Space White Edition) Or GameSir X-4 Aileron Bluetooth Controller Indeed my final say is: It's either... There should have been more ram / internal storage options... 12 or 16gb ram with 512gb or 1tb internal storage... Or / If RaZeR Edge 2 is somehow in the pipeline... Because this Android Gaming Handheld Remixed quite a "Performer"... 🙃🫠🤣🧐🤓🥸🤯 A-O2 Pro Black Edition owner... Since Dec.3rd.2023... Got that package unpacked... and the fun never end...
Any chance you can share that default wallpaper as shown on the Edge? I've seen some that are close, but not 100% and its not yet posted on Razers site.
I didnt like this upon release but i dont use my tablet all that much but like having it for it not needing to be tied to my phone and its weak on the cloud sometimes esp with bluetooth. This would be a little upgrade as i love geforce on my phone but need my phone to be my phone the older i get
Backbone One controller $99 + Flagship used phone in excellent condition ($250 and up on Amazon Renewed) is pretty close to the same experience if you don't happen to have a flagship on hand.
Yea I have tue backbone as well. While I dont like to tie up my phone gaming ive used it on some of my older phones and its worked great. Sooo many awesome options these days to get into some games. Coming from an 80’s gamer lol this shyt is so cool to me these days.
@@GameTechPlanet 80s gamer here too! I grew up in the old arcades, loved it. That was one reason of buying a second hand phone, so my main device was not tied up. Last thing I want are a ton of notifications interrupting game play. Using S21+ (No sim) and BB1, I may end up getting a sim for it but right now just using WiFi, although I could enable Mobile hotspot on main device when traveling . So far so good, clouding gaming, remote play, and emulation all working fantastic.. Kudos on your well presented video 👍
Tell me where you can get a brand new Snapdragon 888 plus gaming phone with active cooling + Razer kishi v2 pro for $399? Oh wait, you cant. And no a used flagship without active cooling will not get you the same experience (it will throttle to all heck once its gets toasty). I wanted a dedicated PS2 machine and my edge does that excellently, and for that its the current best value in the android space.
Emulation is something I have been having the most fun with on the edge. Theres cheaper emulation only machines out there for sure. But all around the edge is well built, powerful and capable of doing what it’s targeted at.
@@ultimategohan1551 No issues with emulation, remote play, cloud gaming, installed games from Play Store on my S21+. Granted my longest game run was about an hour. I don't plan game on this for 8hours, for that I have XBSX and gaming laptop.
I wish the screen was bigger, res at 1440p with 120hz refresh. At this price point is what I would expect for a cloud gaming device. Or Windows hand held pc with this price point. The deck is just a better device tbh.
Yea they made returns and cancellations easy for it. I got an email about the correction before my device shipped. Cant say if it was deliberate or a mistake but least we have the info and those who wish to can return. Consumer wins and thats all i care about. Not having any issue with the 6gb so far myself but we shall see over time
Not this model. Didnt want to open a verizon account and have the monthly bill. I have tested it alot tethered to my phones hotspot while traveling and its been great.
Why bother with this. It's basicly a phone that can't make calls with a kishi attached. They should have made a dedicated handheld which this honestly isn't.
It's much more versatile as a device. You can use it for gaming or just as a tablet and pair the kishi with your phone. It just opens up all different options if you like me and you don't want a huge phone or/and you prefer a separate gaming device.
Yea hard to get this down to “ gcloud “ pricing with the newer tech but since steam decks arrival the 399.99 price of devices has become an interesting topic.
I've been deciding between this and the steam deck and decided to go for the razer instead. I feel like I wouldn't be using the steam deck as much because it'll be competing with my actual pc. All the games the steam deck will run my pc will run way better. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy natively playing games on the steam deck at 720 60 fps. Where with the razer edge it would be more of a synergistic experience since you can now use your pc to stream games to the edge. Very impressed with the display specs as well. It might be 1080 but on a 6 inch OLED screen and 144hz it'll still look amazing. As for being able to do this all on my phone yes my Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra will probably be comparable but I want to keep my phone separate and not be cluttered by apps and games. Having a standalone device like this that can be an extension of my pc with the benefit of other game streaming services I use makes it a very attractive device to own.
@@sawyerseth9832 it's been great I use it to stream my pc when I'm laying in bed. I've been using it for emulation as well. I've even taken it on a trip and used the 5g to stream my pc. The controller will once in awhile not get recognized when you're streaming but it's easily fixed by disconnecting the controller and connecting it again. Other than a few things it's been great!
agreed! I have found 16:10 to be the best aspect ratio. because it makes your screen seem larger due to the increased vertical space. It is also a great middle ground for 4:3 aspect ratio. I scale most consoles to 3:2 and it fills up the screen pleasantly. Yet, I do not miss the increased with of 16:9.

72 FPS in fortnite seems like double-buffered v-sync. Your screen was set to 144 Hz so if it can't hit that, it will run at half fps
