There’s so much more to Brookings than what you see here, we have several incredible beaches within our town and many more all along the southern Oregon coast. Chetco point should not be missed if you visit this area. There are also many great hiking trails in the area. There are also two state parks with fantastic campgrounds in Brookings, Loeb state park is a couple miles up the Chetco River and Harris Beach state park is at the north end of town right on Pacific Ocean. Both parks are typically full in the summer and you definitely want to get reservations in advance, although the spring and fall are very nice weather and much less crowded. There are several charter fishing boats that operate out of the harbor as well the rock fish are always around, salmon and even tuna if you’re lucky enough to be here at the right time.
The best ice cream in the Port at Slugs and Stones and Ice Cream Cones. You never got to Brookings. You were in Harbor, a town of 2,200. Brookings was north across the Chetco Bridge. A town of 6,700, with a lot of very good restaurants and retail.

Agree! I lived there for 5 years in the 90s. This video spends too much time walking among cars/campers before they even show anything !
Thank you all so much for posting. We want to move there next year for retirement. God bless❤
