    We just love our Schnauzer my husband and I are both in our 80ts and still healthy ...our Oliver is 5jrs old and our first Schnauzer and we hope to grow old together❤🐾🐾.through our life we had Bullterriers an Boxers.....we now live in a retirement village within the an estate, and we are allowed to have pets..and here is so many Schnauzers and many other types of small dogs...Oliver is very sociable walk him twice a day ...I found that you have to be very firm in discipline but loving ❤ then you will have the most wonderful dog ....they are one of the most intelligent dog breeds... never shout at them they have small "heart "...their anxiety will easy as they socialize with other breeds and small children...I groom Oliver myself..just could not get myself to leave him at a doggy groomer but that is just me❣️Good lucky wiith lovely Schnauzer 🐾❤

    Aways best to know what you’re getting into with an animal. Many are easy, many are tough, most require more than many think. If you’re up to the task then the toughest of breeds can be amazing pets. If you aren’t, then that’s ok. Acknowledge it and find one that you can. Maybe you’ll work your way up to them, or maybe you’ll find a breed you never knew you could love so much! As long as you can provide the needs for the pup then you’ll have a happy and healthy companion!

    I did a bit of research before getting one. Personally I would preferred larger dogs but my schnauzer is one of the best breeds for my living arrangement. My dog is indeed intelligent, sensitive so training is easy. I walk my dog twice a day, before and after work. Training at every meal time. She has never touched stuffs that not belong to her. She does not have separation anxiety as long as you give her opportunities to do her bussiness outside she won't be an issue with house training either. Food allergies and grooming will cost you so be prepared. Although I still referred the boxer like looks I am glad I have her. She is way easier to care for than the poodle mix btw.

      Thanks for sharing your experience! I also like bigger dogs too. Mini Schnauzers are great for someone whose situation calls for a smaller dog. Your girl Schnauzer sounds so well behaved😊💖

    Schnauzer's are actually very smart. They rank 12th in terms of intelligence among 138 qualifying breeds. They were measured upon a specific type of intelligence called "obedience and working intelligence." They were evaluated on how quickly they learned a new command and how well they retain their obedience training. Teach them something with 15 repetitions. Doing this 2x/day and it won't take long for your Schnauzer to learn new things. They are very good problem solvers. That's what made my oldest (3.5 yrs old) a master escape artist. If your Schnauzer wolf's their food down get slow feeders for them. The larger size Kong is excellent. There are other slow feeders too. I have a cool one that you fill a cylinder and they roll it on the floor and the food comes out of a hole. It's now their favorite. Another one they like is a ball that rolls around on the floor. It gives them sometthing to do and helps with the wolfing food down. If they don't pay any attention to them don't think they are going to starve and put their bowl back down. When they get hungry enough they will get curious and figure it out. That is what they do best is figure the problem out. I don't get the flat bowls that have smaller compartments in it. I feel they can still eat pretty fast with them. The video is spot on.

    The Google algorithms decided that I needed to view this video ☺️🤣 And it was absolutely brilliant, so true in everything that you said 🤭 But I do have to ask one thing though….. What’s Scotty like when it comes to dinner time? Does he eat like he’s never seen food before? 🤣 😂 Keep up the good work, have a blessed weekend 🙏🏾

    • @ScottytheSchnauzer
      @ScottytheSchnauzer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aww I’m so glad you found the video helpful! Good question, during dinner time, Scotty’s memory is wiped of all previous meals he’s ever eaten and he becomes a starving puppy who’s never eaten a day in his life 😜 and he inhales it in about 3 seconds, unless I use a slow feeder.

    • @CheckTesting1
      @CheckTesting1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ScottytheSchnauzer I love the ‘Inhale’ analogy 😂 I guess it’s just the breed eh. But in saying that though he does have boiled warm water with every main meal so it’s not as harsh on his throat 😊 You, the family & Scotty have a blessed week 🙏🏾

    Considering becoming the mother to a miniature Schnauzer but live in an apartment so will need to train him not to bark! The breeder said they aren’t to vocal, anyone else had similar experiences?

    • @ScottytheSchnauzer
      @ScottytheSchnauzer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mini Schnauzers are one of the most vocal and bark prone breeds. But it’s not a terrifying bark. It’s their terrier nature. But I’m glad that you’re thinking about it early on, that’s the best! 😊♥️🐾

    We have two boys Rocky and Charlie. They are also not really used to kids and will nip them if they are moving to quickly. Other than that they are awsome dogs. Dont know how to explain it. They are just different.

      @ScottytheSchnauzer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, Scotty also goes after kids feet if they’re moving to fast! So he’s not the only one 🤣 Maybe it’s the terrier in them? But still he’s a great family dog!♥️ I’m sure yours are too!♥️🐾😊

    I would like to know what food you feed Scotty. I’m always switching my girls food, trying to find the right one because of known stomach issues the mini has.

    • @ScottytheSchnauzer
      @ScottytheSchnauzer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve fed Scotty: Organix certified organic dog food (he did great with that), but there is availability issues on Amazon.
      Might find at local health store.
      Also fed Ziwi lamb (canned or dehydrated).
      Carna4 is also a good food! It’s from Canada. All the good foods are expensive 💸💸💸💸.
      Look at rachelfusaro.com for more in depth recommendations. I know for sensitive stomachs there is a brand called Medicus that is also a whole food dog company and makes a recipe for dogs with stomach problems. 😊

    • @marydaunais
      @marydaunais หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m in BC Canada, those brands don’t sound familiar to me, but I will check them out. So many companies saying how wonderful and healthy their food is and you find out, down the road it’s not true.

    • @ScottytheSchnauzer
      @ScottytheSchnauzer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@marydaunaisyeah I only know of these brands from doing hours of painstaking research. Scotty doesn’t have any health problems right now thankfully. I have a senior dog who is on Royal Canin gastrointestinal formula. Vets will say that’s the best brand. I’m more of a whole food, holistic person though. But I’ve always heard great things about Carna4, which is made in Canada.
