    You are probably the only person that could ever put up an 18 minute long youtube tutorial for an epic build using nothing but leftover scraps just to proudly say it looks like shit at the end. It looks good my man, maybe a more white or grey base coat for the stonework to emulate limestone.

    Great job! I'm happy you just "eye-balled it" because it looks more organic that way. Too many other crafters are often busy with exact measurements which makes the craft tedious instead of fun. 👍🏻

      That's the reason I like this channel so much. Not everyone can afford or even want to afford a proxon hot wire cutter. Sure they do a great job, but for that kind of money they better. I liked your way better: anyone can get the materials, and even more important anyone can cut your material.
      Plus, you not only get a like, but this is my third or fourth post on this video alone. TH-cam loves comments.
      Best of all you are not always begging for money. Thank you for such a great channel.

    • @CrankyPantss
      @CrankyPantss 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      F0k0 I agree with you. If your goal is to create the most authentic looking buildings, maybe all of that expensive stuff and perfect measurements might help. If your goal is just to build cool looking props to add to the tabletop experience, this is a great way to go. This way looks like it's more fun to do, too.

    I would suggest to try putty (for walls), white it is not dried yet, you can add some cool texture on it. Putty will make cardboard a lot harder and sturdier.

    I would really love a short video where you show us your favorite ways to prepare all these oats you eat. Edit: I'll share one of mine. I live in very hot area, so I like cold oats alot. I rinse raisins, then drain them ( i don't like getting grit in my raisins) then I put the oats, the raisins, a bit of apple sause, greek yogurt, milk and cinnamon in a sealable container shake it up and leave it in the fridge over night. In the morning I've got delicious cold oats.

    The paint job on the roof shingles is great, and I think the gold trim goes really well with it. I can see what you mean about the colors on the walls coming out kind of flat, but I don’t think it looks nearly as bad as you think it is. One suggestion I’d make would be to paint those decorative elements on the walls a different color. They’re a cool shape so it would help them be more visible and distract from the color of the wall that you weren’t happy with. Overall though really good work!

  • @earthmanbrick

    Great work, man. I usually make up textured paint (with sand or sawdust), that way it saves you an extra step (I've got a video on it)
    Don't worry too much about making little mistakes here & there....
    Instead, cover them up with little added details/features (eg, glue on some haphazard coffee stirrers to look like there's been some makeshift repairs) by adding things like weathering, moss, bird's nests, vines, dirt, flock, tufts, etc..
    Another brilliant video. Well done

    I'm sorry that you're not happy with the outcome. I think it all looks very cool. As always, I'm impressed with your vision for turning card stock and cardboard into such cool structures and minis. So many people are just copying the same builds using the same exact foam, paints, and fancy cutter tools. You are making unique builds from your own imagination and basic supplies. That is praiseworthy, Bard buddy. Very well done.

    First, let me say that your work is fantastic, and the building looks great, so don't judge yourself too harshly. My only observation in the shingles is that maybe a green coloration or a green hue would have been better since elves tend to be more in tune with nature. The way you make the texture on the walls is very interesting and shows creativity.
