You still have a great deal of energy Glen. Keith has you wore out with his projects though😂. Yes the deal ended up working out better than I thought. A real surprise
Love the king quad vids man! I was given this same quad about a year ago by a friend who didn’t have a need for it. Less than 800 original miles. I changed the fluids and replaced the batteries, and it runs like a champ. I used it all hunting season here in Alaska without any issue. Looking forward to watching more!
I’ve got a 96 blue King Quad 300 my plastics are shot and cracked. I’m gonna plastic weld all the pieces and then try to color match the old blue with raptor liner to make them look new again. Not as good as original, but better than faded cracked plastic. Nice score man she’s nice!
'sending back to amazon' answers my question. ive got the quadrunner 250 looks the same & same carb but mine has a small tear in that rubber top of carb new one something like billion dollars so it runs lean hard to get rpm's up. last year went on a romp through deep water the front drum brakes seized up had to take apart the brake wheel cylinders the housings are aluminum but pistons are steel they got rusty fast honed everything with 2000grit sandpaper everything works and i need another battery too
Awesome video man! Definetly a lucky straw drawn. I love the machine but hot damn is that fuel system and carb over complicated. Looking forward to the next video!
My 1989 quadrunner 250 stalls when its around 1/2 tank gas left. The petcock is on res and the pump is new. Still same problem. What else could be the problem? And it gets kinda hard to start after sitting for a couple weeks.
I would be looking into an issue with the needle and seat. That’s a hard diagnosis but I feel the way you describe it the extra fuel when full improves flow. There is a little screen under the seat in the carb. I wonder if it could be clogged.
i just got 1 with the CDI is missing, they cut the cable at the loom so i have no idea what wire goes to what pin on the CDI. would you mind sharing what color wire goes to what pin on your CDI?
Dude it takes one day with a lead acid battery on concrete and it would be totally destroyed. You can't put batteries on concrete. Put some wood down. That battery is probably already destroyed
That’s a Myth. I used to keep all my batteries when I ran the Marine shop on the concrete just to stir this up! Would have some sit 6 month’s and still were fine.
Only 7 minutes in. But one thing right off the bat. They require the filter to run. The motor is very low compression. And without the filter for creating suction, it will have to try hard. Still watching. Just had to throw that out there
Thanks Steve. I appreciate the comment. To clarify there engines are actually high compression at around 200PSI. However yes the intake is needed for restriction or it will cause them to run lean like you say. For testing purposes it is completely fine.
@@Schneids15 sorry I should have been more specific. I was meaning "Compression Ratio" Speaking to an old Suzuki mechanic with a manual these machines were either an 8 to 1 . Or 9 to 1 compression ratio from factory. Most machines run 10 or 11 to 1 on average. That "compression ratio" is what makes the filter needed to create suction. It is to much air otherwise. That only applies for making it run perfect of course. Just throwing the info out there. I am putting a turbo on my Quadrunner 250 turned 3 wheeler so I had to do some research. Turns out these motors are almost built for boost. Again. Awesome video! And I found your add on marketplace right away. It is a nice looking machine for sure. Would cost me an arm just to drive to ya though 😅
@@SteveTheCanadian That is awesome you found the ad! Yes I am with you and agree with you. When you said low compression I had to counter on that comment haha. I look forward to the turbo 250 that sound’s awesome.

I don't know about the motorcycle AGM batteries. But the automotive ones are 💩 I've owned 4-5 optima red & yellow top. Everyone died within 2 years time. Very expensive batteries, too.
Thank you! Honestly don’t know of any but I will let you know. I guess I should almost look into getting some made. I’m not that handy with machining stuff but i’m sure some subscriber’s could pair up and make something.
Looks like you got a great deal on that one Josh. Sure wish I still had the energy you have.

I like using old conveyor belt to patch hole in plastic and fenders.
That’s a great idea.
I have a blue one just like that one. A newer green one and also a red newer one. Good Machines.

Thanks Kyle! Man it sound’s like you really got yourself a good one.
I can’t believe how nice the condition of this 99 cat 300 that I just got is. Lot to learn on these little suckers but my kid will enjoy
Good work man. I've just started the same journey with mine.. after procrastinating for the last 2 years.. some good pointers bro.

Right on. Yes you could probably run a chinese rubber diaphragm and it would fix you up. However the carbs, carb kits etc are all junk.
Awesome video man! Definetly a lucky straw drawn. I love the machine but hot damn is that fuel system and carb over complicated.

Thanks Steve! Yes the carb is a pain always on every machine. Could be so much simpler.
Ive always just gone out and rode them like i stole it if they smoked. Either the rings will break in and the smoking will stop or it won't.
This is going to be fun!!
I have one like that I just bought but having trouble finding were to get parts for it
could you put a torch to the plastic for a couple seconds to bring the color back?
Unfortunately no. These suzuki plastics fade so bad and no revitalization is possible.

@@Schneids15 my machine has the mikuni vm30 or 32mm. Just a regular "snowmobile" carb. Not the same as your machine. And i did rebuild it this fall 🤔
Miss one I had years ago. Definitely the most low gear fourwheeler I’ve seen. That super low in 1st would pull a tank if it got traction
That they do. Man do they have power in gearing!

What fuelpump did you end up buying? I have some problems with mine and im not sure what fuelpump i should go with!
Hey! Ended up getting one off amazon. Could not go wrong with chinese there. However I would rebuild the original mikuni If a dealer was nearby.
Did you notice that the kilometers were at exactly 2000 after your test drive on the video? Just a fun little thing i noticed 😅
Haha I did notice!! 2001 today. Lol
