Edith (Mia Wasikowska) discovers evidence that Thomas killed all his past wives.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In this gothic romance set at the turn of the 20th century, a mysterious stranger named Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) woos young author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) and brings her as his bride to his mansion atop a clay mountain in Cumbria, England. There, Edith meets Sharpe's strange and secretive sister Lucille (Jessica Chastain), and learns that her new home holds many disturbing secrets that will force her to fight for her sanity and her very life. This scene's really important, you hear that Thomas clearly felt nothing for his other wives, barely pretended to care. That's how you know with Edith it's different, he's learned empathy.
When she attempted to leave I shouted "you're leaving the evidence"?!
My thought was: You are venturing out in a snow storm, in a thin gown? Still, even a coat and boots wouldn't do much good for any length of time, I don't suppose. Well, I've not seen the movie and I am thinking that we're to understand that this is the effect the enormity of the horror has knocked all rational thought from her head..Ah, these seldom equipped Victorian-types! I don't look for a happy ending for her, at this point.
@@thomlin8812 yeah every move she made after moving into that house was not carefully thought out. She turned into a "damsel in distressed" which kinda annoyed me. But you should watch the movie

Am I the only one who caught the reference to The Legend of Captain Gore? If you don’t know what that is, it was one of the ideas the was going to be a walkthrough ride in Disneyland, but would then be replaced by The Haunted Mansion. At the end of the tour for The Legend of Captain Gore, scratched on the walls was “Ding Dong Dell, Pricilla’s in the Well. Who threw her in? The wicked cap-a-tain!” There’s a similar rhyme in this clip. The rhyme from the ride was implying how Captain Gore’s wife died. I mean it would make sense that Del Toro would add a little reference to a connection from The Haunted Mansion as he is considered to be a big fan of the ride. He even has a statue of the Hatbox Ghost!

This might not be as realistic cus making a cylinder was pretty tedious, you have to get a good amount of heat, and a carving stylus. Also wax cylinders grow mold over time and very few are in that condition, rad that it’s in a movie tho
On "Enola Sciotti"'s photo with Thomas Sharpe, I actually saw the original photo in the Wikimedia Commons.
They actually edited the other sitters (the subjects of the photo were sisters) on the right, and retained the left-most sitter, and photoshopped Tom Hiddleston to the sitter's right.
