Just listened to this 3 times in a row. Takes me back to a simpler, crazy, innocent time. Santana was a fulcrum (of the heart) in the abandon of the 80's.
When i was a little girl (probably 8 years old), this song used to play in our car. My sister loved Santana and she had an album. Today, I found this song again and it is the best nostalgia ever. This song was my favorite one. It brought back old memories and tears :)

Trivia: Gregg Rolie returned for this album. He hadn't been a member of Santana since 1973, when he formed Journey along with guitarist Neal Schon. Yet he doesn't sing here... that honor goes to Scotsman Alex Ligertwood, who first joined Santana in 1979 and was an on-again off-again member until 1994.

Great vocals by Alex Ligertwood. I saw him perform last year with Jim Peterik's World Stage show. He did three of his Santana hits. He comes out in a black outfit - a very slight man. Seemed like a somewhat frail old man but then he opened his mouth. Yowza - still terrific at 70 years old.

I want to make this moment last
Slow down the pace, there's no hurry
I can't let another pass by me again
Let me be the one to say when I've had enough
Just let me close my eyes, memorize
The way things are this minute
So when you're gone I can go on
If memory can hold within it what I'm feeling
Should time try fading or stealing something away
[Chorus:]
Hold on, nothing's the same
Tell me why I feel this way
Life wouldn't be worth living without you
All along I've been the pretender
But now that's gone forever
Nobody's ever loved me like you do
Nobody's broken through
Got to concentrate, file away
Every last detail
Don't want to lose what's going down
I want to remember everything I'm feeling
Should time try fading or stealing something away
[Chorus]

This is a good example of music I didn't appreciate the first time around but came to like a lot when I got older. The video is really something. I could almost say it's "haunting"
That girl he goes after is Deborah, his first wife.
I agree brother it's very very hunting and catchy it never leaves your mind beautiful song thank you brother.. ♥️🎵🎵
Never can get enough of this one after all these years
Omg
This is magic. Still love watching and hearing this as much as the first time, never gets old. The master reveals love behind the curtain. Thank you, Carlos.
Just listened to this 3 times in a row. Takes me back to a simpler, crazy, innocent time. Santana was a fulcrum (of the heart) in the abandon of the 80's.
Written by 🇨🇦 artist Ian Thomas
One of the early MTV videos. Perfection.
Woke up at 5 am one morning in 1981 cause Mtv was new and this was the first video I ever saw.never forget this tune.
The beauty of sight in this man's eyes
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.
Carlos Santana maravilhoso grande gênio da guitarra.
.. 💞 me some Neal Schon, too !! 🎸 😳 💫
Carlos Musica Mucho Grande !!
When i was a little girl (probably 8 years old), this song used to play in our car. My sister loved Santana and she had an album. Today, I found this song again and it is the best nostalgia ever. This song was my favorite one. It brought back old memories and tears :)
Been listening since 1970. Amazing vocals and music. Mr. Santana is a true master.
😂This song 🎵 came out in 1982 😎
The master is Ian Thomas
I am! I just woke up from a dream that Carlos was at my ranch house playing his music in my backyard! Visiting and talking to me in my living room and playing basketball with me! It was an incredible dream!!!!
WOW, I know that was WILD! I reckon you told everyone you know @ it!!🤯😆
Thank you VEVO for finally unblocking this great video by Santana!
I love this song k.c. mass
Ruben Delgadill
No
Why does this not have over 200,000,00 views?
Fall of 1982 this brings back so many memories I was 10 years old thank you for sharing this song on TH-cam
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
Wonderful! My favorite Santana song!
Santana cover you mean.
@@kevindodsworth4679 True! 😃
Thanks VEVO for allowing us to watch this gem again!!!
Nothing like the original video!
Thumbs up!!
Still remember when it originally came out on MTV in 1981 or '82.
Actually the original is by the writer, Ian Thomas.....just sayin'
And better. The speed is right. I like Santanas playing, but we he slowed it down?!
The original video of a cover song, interesting way of viewing it
Thanks Vevo? You have to stomach the crap music they advertise first.
Yamaha SG's have quintupled in value since this time.
Dig this track. Played it so often around summer/fall ‘82.
Carlos’ arpeggio guitar fills can take you to heaven and back in three seconds
The spirits made this song happen.
I introduced my nine year old son to this song 2 years ago before i brought him to see carlos live. Ive heard it every day at least twice since... Timeless!
Amo essa música! ❤❤❤❤

Keyboardist.
naughty significado
Alex is a great singer by the way. Still like Gregg but Alex has loads of soul there in his voice
59luvmymusic Greg Rollie founded the band
Kind of wierd that other band members are in the video but the lead singer, Alex L. isn't at all.
He is A GREAT ARTIST, 4 life my favorite! And thatz 54 years now
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.
SANTANA 😍😍😍😍😍
2019 *
One of the BEST SONGS EVER …
Hello;
thanks for being a great fan over the years. How are you doing
Ouvia na minha infância. Nostalgia deliciosa de se viver! 🇧🇷
2021 and Santana is still such a gift to us all.
He a great vocalist up there with the best
Seen the zebop tour in Tampa Carlos was having technical problems and Alex picked up the lead and didn't miss a beat
I wouldn't be surprised if he became Journey's lead vocalist. A Steve Perry vocal clone.
Raul Rekow played with both Carlos and Jorge Santana.
Oh one of his best songs. I just did lots of journaling when I first danced to this song in Provincetown, Ma in 1981!
Such a timeless piece of music that sounds so good. Carlos is beyond a legend and has a great legacy as one of the great guitarists.
This is one of the most mystical songs and videos ever. I love it! Thank you VEVO for posting it!

Mr. Carlos... I'm '62 Now... Which I think that you have been around... I while longer than I have been around... My Many Thanks for Creating Great Music Over These Many Years... All The Best To You... You Are Blessed & May You Be Blessed Even More !!! Cordially: (RJ)
...Carlos is 74 now.
Jesus this guy is a genius he mix happiness with sadness in ways that you live the song as at it happen to you
Good memories of going to the pub having beers and playing tons of Santana on the juke box over and over! LOVE
This didn't get the airplay it deserved back home but thanks to a lady DJ who absolutely loved the song she gave it decent airplay on her shift. With many stations, DJs were still allowed to run their own ship without interference from the front office.
WOW!!!.Since 1.977,I loved Santana^s LET IT SHINE,because I thought it was his greatest Master Piece. But now,I just rediscovered this other one, so fantastic & under rated song!!!. Just Loved it!!!.Cool Song!!!. :-) !!!.Greetings from Colombia!! :-)!!!.
That's what I miss the most about this music it's that uppity feeling like you're happy just being there and listening
