1972 I was 12 and sitting on the sidewalk in downtown Vancouver BC listening to my friend play black magic woman when a group of guys walked up and listen to him play they looked familiar but I wasn't sure so I said nothing. at the end of the song one of the guys reached into his pocket I thought for some change to give my friend but to my surprise, he pulled out two tickets and said sounds pretty good come listen to me play it tonight. It was Carlos Santana I was blown away my first concert and invited by the artist himself. Needless to say, the concert was fantastic, every time I hear Santana I remember that day
Wonderful Story! My favorite artist of all times! I could never get tired of listening to his music. He's coming back to St. Louis in the summer and my tickets are already purchased!

Alot of this mans beautiful work came from latino music already written, recorded long before I was born in 1956. He made it what it SHOULD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN! Back in the day when lying out in the hot sun to get a tan, with a cold beer, was a thing, Santana records were required. On an actual stereo system; with wires that you could see and not get divorced or shamed or hated for it.
I had an apartment by the pool with a real stereo with Bose 901 speakers. People at the pool would knock on the door, ask us to turn it up and open the door, "please." Those were the days.

The best concert in my nearly 63 years was the santana concert im hallenstadion in örlikon, zürich. Schweiz. Drei stunden von 8 uhr am abend bis elf. Dann sagte das management vom hallenstadion, um 23 uhr ist fertig konzert,kein licht mehr nichts. Dann kam wirklich carlos auf die Bühne und sagte, wir spielen noch fertig und dann sollt ihr schlafen gehen. Drei stunden extremes leben von meinen fast 63. Tschau erde und allen leuten auf der welt. Hört santana. It makes you feel goooood. Goood night to every human beeing.

Santana trascends the ages, i have always thought they were the best. I am now 78 years old. My dad became a huge fan when i played an album with all of Santana platinum songs including this trio of unmistakable Santana sound.

I say that this is a complex fusion of Latin , Rock, & Jazz; and God knows what else I just don't recognize. I am not forgetting the ladies at all --just talking' Carlos S. here. If I had to listen to Pat Boone records like my sister, I'd be in the looney bin now. Music like this, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, was just made to help uptight white boys loosen up. I saw Carlos Santana play in Tampa, Florida Apr 4, 1981, something I will never forget. He and the band played for 3 hours, when it was over I thought it was just 1 hour. No stopping between songs it was continues. Fantastic!

Ive seen Carlos at 3 dif concerts 70s 80s in the 90s I lived in S.F. cal. My girl ate out at least 3 times a week. There was this little equadorian restraunt we went once a week. The let us eat with them. Onece when I asked forbthe check the owners wife brought over a bottle of wine over and a small desert. She smiled and said you are having desert tonight here!! about 5 to 10 minutes the wait staff moved some tables and who comes out carlos and his brother and another band member Carlos played 5 or 6 cuts including these 3. What a fantastic treat
It just doesn't get any better than this. This music doesn't enter you, it kidnaps you and takes you away. What a treat for those in attendance. 50 years ago Santana came out of nowhere and never looked back. If you haven't seen the Woodstock performance, get on over there.

I'm 61 and the first concert I ever went to was at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh in about 1974 was Santana with Chaka Khan & Rufus opening for him! Fannnntastic! He still gets with it today!! Timeless guitar playing! I still listen to me some Chaka Khan Chaka Khan too.

I'm 65 first concert I went to was "3 Rivers Stadium" then saw alot more there. Was sad to see it go. My 42 yr old 33 yr old listen to Santana. Good to know the GREATEST MUSIC gets passed down to the next generations.
I met Carlos when he played at Madison Square Garden headlining a show with the Eddie Money band who was my brother in law. Bill Graham was alive then and I had a chance to talk to Carlos backstage and I have to tell you he was one the nicest guys you could meet. Really mellow and gracious in talking to me who he didn't even know. Not only is he a fantastic guitar player/song writer but a really decent, caring human being.

We're about the same age and I remember vividly when I went to see him in concert along with Tower of Power, great and unforgettable time.
I first saw Santana live in concert at Willie Nelson's Fourth of July picnic in 1975, and most recently in 2019 in Sugar Land. Always a great concert!

I'm really happy guys like Carlos Santana came along. Superior talent(s) who KNOW how to do a song right, and that includes assembling a group who can help create the overall sound. I say that this is a complex fusion of Latin , Rock, & Jazz; and God knows what else I just don't recognize. I am not forgetting the ladies at all --just talking' Carlos S. here.
If I had to listen to Pat Boone records like my sister, I'd be in the looney bin now. Music like this, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, was just made to help uptight white boys loosen up. I'll never forget hearing Carlos Santana in concert.
After more than 50 years listening to this genius , its still as fresh.😎 We are so lucky.

I saw Carlos Santana play in Tampa, Florida Apr 4, 1981, something I will never forget. He and the band played for 3 hours, when it was over I thought it was just 1 hour. No stopping between songs it was continues. Fantastic!

Ive seen Carlos at 3 dif concerts 70s 80s in the 90s I lived in S.F. cal. My girl ate out at least 3 times a week. There was this little equadorian restraunt we went once a week. The let us eat with them. Onece when I asked forbthe check the owners wife brought over a bottle of wine over and a small desert. She smiled and said you are having desert tonight here!! about 5 to 10 minutes the wait staff moved some tables and who comes out carlos and his brother and another band member Carlos played 5 or 6 cuts including these 3. What a fantastic treat

I'm 61 and the first concert I ever went to was at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh in about 1974 was Santana with Chaka Khan & Rufus opening for him! Fannnntastic! He still gets with it today!! Timeless guitar playing! I still listen to me some Chaka Khan Chaka Khan too.

I'm 65 first concert I went to was "3 Rivers Stadium" then saw alot more there. Was sad to see it go. My 42 yr old 33 yr old listen to Santana. Good to know the GREATEST MUSIC gets passed down to the next generations.

I met Carlos when he played at Madison Square Garden headlining a show with the Eddie Money band who was my brother in law. Bill Graham was alive then and I had a chance to talk to Carlos backstage and I have to tell you he was one the nicest guys you could meet. Really mellow and gracious in talking to me who he didn't even know. Not only is he a fantastic guitar player/song writer but a really decent, caring human being.
