Loved it when you involved the kids, it reminded me of my father when we were young. They will remember those times with you for the rest of their lives. Fantastic!
I didn’t see you measure diagonally when setting the bolts and I was worried the bolts might end up as a parallelogram. Glad it matched up. The should include a bolt template with their unit.
Concrete without rebar is strongest under compression, but not tension. Rebar adds strength under tension. He probably doesn't need rebar - the pad is so small. Rebar will also rust and eventually bust up the concrete. I bet he's fine.
I'm looking forward to installing a system very similar, I'm wanting to put 3 head units on one of the long walls (east side) and them 4 on the opposite wall, (west side) with one head unit going in the office.
Is there a structural benefit to smoothing/troweling/floating the concrete pad vs just screeding it? Or is it just cosmetic. I'm specifically referring to a pad that would be used for livestock, and a rougher surface would be preferred.

Awesome, thank you!
The mixer is better than TV to watch for entertainment
Idk if your studs are long enough but rubber vibration pads drilled out and slid over studs would help eliminate and humming or vibrations.
When will you post the next video for this install?

Question: why didn’t you use some wire for concrete to set in for strength?
Love the kids helping!

Cosmetic...you'd want a broom brush finish...more like a sidewalk.
Why the 48k and not the 36?
