This is the game I come back to the most. It is just beautiful how Ivanchuk literally dismantles Kasparov and was so confident in his ability that he was willing to sacrifice two knights knowing he'd imprison the bishops later. I genuinely think Linares 1991 is the most impressive chest performance in history. Ivanchuk DUSTED the field and this was probably the strongest field to ever play in a tournament.
Ivanchuk seems to give Kasparov the advantage just to toy with him...it's almost a humiliation. This is truly one of the most amazing games you have presented.
@@gabydewilde Perhaps you're right that the qualifier is unwarranted. Or maybe it's the case that Kasparov is so strong an individual that utter humiliation is simply not possible.

Wow. This is incredible. I didn't know about Vassily until now. He is absolutely smashing Kasparov. Then to learn that Ivanchuck beat Magnus back to back 5 years ago is just incredible. Thanks Agad!
My favorite game is the one where a side's possibilities are gradually, ineluctably choked off, where there is very little loss of material, and where black wins, since white generally has a slight advantage out of the gate.
