Hi there - thank you - the figures are by Modelu, 3D scans of real people. They are 3D printed in whatever scale you want, no connection other than satisfied customer - although I did help with development so had a number of these supplied free as a thank you. www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/north-american/
Took an image of the real Bay Colony GP 1702 back in 1998, which was a GP7 like your model , but which had the dynamic brake blister along the roof, unlike your 1701, suggesting slightly different origins?
Yes I believe so… “This locomotive was built in 1953 and started its service on the Detroit & Toledo Shore Line and was later purchased by Bay Colony in 1987. The Bay Colony Locomotive was originally #1750 but then was later changed to #1701.”
Great video showing just how immersive operating a small layout can be. I've been building similar switching layouts for many years inspired by lance Mindheim's ideas. This one is similar to Beaverbrook with only 2 turnouts. (btw - love your books) Malth-cam.com/video/heqTOb08aWg/w-d-xo.html
I think the most realistic looking figure I've seen. Fantastic layout! Happy I found your channel.
Thank you - the figures are from Modelu here in the UK
Super layout. Nice steady camerawork, great angles -a visual delight. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Hi Michael, very kind, thank you. A variety of other videos feature this layout, as well as some ‘live’ operating videos. Thanks for watching.
What a great way to start my day. Thanks.
Thanks
Wow u still up I watch the first video lol it's ok back running trains ❤
Half past eight in the morning here, I made this last night and uploaded it before bed, made it public over breakfast… hope you enjoyed it!
Great video, James. Could you share your weathering methods on the North American box and gondola cars? They are awesome. Thanks.
Thanks - your best bet is to take a look at my website and search for weathering. I don’t do ‘how to’ videos as a rule.
Nice video, really like it. Nicely detailed figurine on the plate as well, what make is it? Thank you, keep those opps coming 😍

Watched the video. Beautiful work. Something about having a layout like these on my desk just seems appealing. I've started building my first.
Thank you Mal, I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was tricky not to narrate what was going on, as I usually do!
@Strelnikov10 Thank you, I’m glad it has encouraged you to start something!
