- Wow. So I received on Sunday an advance copy of the new Topaz, here in my hands. Quite unexpectedly but very welcome! I have had a chance to do some readings from it today and I can confirm that this is an excellent Bible, a pleasure to read and use.
I will be putting the Topaz on the website very soon to purchase, watch this space!
I hope you find the video interesting and useful.
Every blessing!
Cambridge is my FAVOURITE.
I highly enjoy your reviews. Keep going. Brother in Norway.
Thank you! Very useful!
It is very clear and good Font. Good paper. I am just uses to bold kjv Cambridge type. But this 8s growing on me. Look forward to other translations.
I go back and forth but THIS review reminds me WHAT a good format it IS.
Very beautiful Bible. And wow an ESV verse by verse. That is great. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you brother, every blessing.
I have the red TOPAZ ESV. Not floppy. I like it.
Stunning... I have found the ONE! Can not wait!
😀👌
Awesome review brother. Amazing Bible, I can't wait to receive a copy!
You will be very pleased! God bless
Love the 2 column big print layout. Cambridge quality.
Awesome review! I love that box design.
Thanks Randy, yes it’s rather cool, just differentiates it from the rest of the range 👍
That is beautiful! The paper and print look excellent. And with the paste-down, at least, the page surface near the gutter seems fairly flat. Thanks for showing it!
Thanks brother, yes the paper and print on this one is probably the best I’ve seen yet 👌 no gutter issues here brother! 👍
I have 2 leather TOPAZ. To avoid hump of goatskin and moving gutter too close when NOT lying flat.
I like double column. But have a very nice single column of NASB from Zondervan.
I like 2 column w references at side or bottom.
This may be best design yet. Except CONCORD.
Beautiful, love the extra yapp, the references look a little small, but it's hard to tell without it sitting in front of me.
You can never have too much yapp! Or can you...? 😀
I asked for a Topaz Calfskin for my 61st birthday from my adult children & Amazon sent the Goatskin instead. Best Bible l own. Looking forward to the NKJV & the NASB versions.
Great review. Thank You.
Rev John Wilderspin
Excellent result! God bless
I prefer verse by verse. Also TOPAZ nice on NO gutter creep.
Thank you so much for posting this! Verse-by-verse and a Jongbloed printing, could one ask for more? I early anticipate getting one (or two) of these.
😀👌
@@BurtonBibles Oops, eagerly not early (although the earlier the better). Thanks for the kind response.
It is a beautiful BIBLE. I have ESV RED calfskin. And NKJV in black calfsplit. Both beautiful. I buy ANYTHING CAMBRIDGE prints except pitt minion or their reduced paragraph bible.
.. I do HAVE DIADEM.
It be awesome if they do the ornate drop caps like Schuyler for the KJV print.
that's definitely a nice Bible.
Absolutely, Cambridge have done a great job with it! 👍
Did this get reuploaded? I was pretty positive I watched this like 12 hours ago. But it ended up in my feed again saying uploaded just a few hours ago. Either way, thanks for showing us a preview of this!
Yes sorry about that Andrew, I took it down to edit a few bits and unfortunately had to reupload it! You’re very welcome, God bless!
Very nice design indeed, I'll wait patiently for Cambridge to release the good old faithful Authorize King James Bible (Topaz) version.
Yes I will definitely be picking one of those up! 👍 God bless
They do HAVE NOW a NKJV in this calfsplit or goatskin.
So I enjoyed your review on the topaz Bible. My questions is, do they italicize the prophecies when they are quoted from the Older Testament?
Hi thanks for the feedback and comment! No they are not italicised, just quotation marks and reference in the margin. God bless!
I'm a note taker so this particular Bible wouldn't do for me. If I wanted a reader only Bible, the font and darker print looks great. But I am almost an obsessive, compulsive highlighter and note taker so I know right away that this Bible would frustrate me. I will have to stay with single column format in most cases because of my quirk! Thank you for the review. Nicely done.
No problem Carmen, it’s important to get the right Bible for you, quirks and all! Thanks for your encouragement, every blessing!
If I’m paying for a premium Bible I want it stitched and art guilted aswell
Mine is as you can see. The whole Topaz range is both smyth sewn and art gilt page edges. Also perimeter stitching on the goatskin. Thanks
Verse by verse seems to add more white space for READABILITY.
Brother will Topaz be available in NLT version in near future???
Not in the near future I don’t think... Cambridge don’t have a great record with the NLT, just the Pitt Minion so far, so I wouldn’t hold my breath! Then again I might be completely wrong... every blessing!
Licensing will be the issue I’d have thought. Cambridge appear to be more keen on licensing the NKJV, NIV, ESV and NRSV. God bless
How does this bible compare to the Cambridge Turquoise edition?
They are certainly similar. The Topaz I think of as a modern reimagining if you like of a Bible such as a Turquoise or larger Concord
Have you heard anything if there will be a black letter tourquise
No I haven’t, I wouldn’t rule it out but I would expect it is further down the list... every blessing!
Seems to lay quite flat, is that what you would say?
Yes, it does. I now have a Goatskin to compare with which is edge lined, so expect a video soon! God bless
I think beats quentel.
Do you know if there will be kjv topaz?
There will be, but I wouldn’t expect it for a little while... 😩
It’s not stitched
I like the way they maximize space. BUT have a 10 POINT FONT. NOT 11 AS IN QUENTEL. THEIR main competition.
..white space aids readability.
The poetry passages look terrible in this format.
You can’t have it all! I have no problem with this traditional layout though. Every blessing
