1978 VW GOLF MK1 RESTORATION PROJECT 🔧

Restorating a rusty Volkswagen Golf MK1 to like like brand new OEM car, which was just produced? Why not?
Ekkoj had a vision and put a lot of effort into this project to make it happen. From the rusty MK1 to a complete stunner which everyone can be proud about jsut by looking at it. The restoration started more than 10 years ago and was finished last year, but for me, this is still the great example of a real passion, knowledge and dreams. All I can say is, that Ekkoj has my respect for sure.

Some people will look at this, and say oh, it's just boxy German POS car built in response to an oil crisis. What they don't get, is how MOTHERFUCKING FUN it was to drive. Even base without mods. I traded mine in for a VW Fox. Not as fun. Not as raw. I regret it only because of what I know now, it was already rotting from the bottom and I was just out of college and didn't have any money to fix. Mine was a Champaign edition with AC! It stopped working but that was OK. I put close to 200K on that car. Took me back and forth to college, and down to FL for spring break with my buds. 39.99999 MPH, never saw 40 but so close! And maintenance? OMG was that car easy to maintain. Thanks for the video, brought back a LOT of memories.
