- Here's a rolling project on my Golf Gti (1600cc)
First time doing a restoration and I'm learning as I go

I used bodyshine for the detailing/ceramic coating
A local body shop for the underseal (will be re-doing this in the future)
S R M automotive for the paint work.
Fife restoration and refurbishment for sand blasting
Everything else was done by me.

I had one for 20 years sold it, gutted I wish I hadn't its still my favourite car. I called it the bullet and people still refer to it when I talk about my golf GTI

Congratulations on the work and passion you have for this beautiful Vw golf GTI mk1. I am the owner of one like this, color and interiors. Only my steering wheel is on the left side because I am Portuguese and of course I live in Portugal. Mine is what you see in the photo and it is also different, mechanic because it has 1.8 16v engine and digifiz gauges of the Vw Golf GTI mk2.

The car got faster especially in speed recoveries, as the engine has 30hp more and goes up more rpm. Enter the red line at 7000rpm until cut at 8000.
of course, as it has 800kg it is brutal, it embarrasses many new cars with more power.
It is very laborious to make the switch to this mechanic, because all the electrical cabling must be changed. The GTI mk2 already has an on-board computer. In my case, I was lucky to find a car in the scrap yard that also had rare digi-manometers. It got really crazy.
