I feel the exact same wayyyyy Laini is my girl. I live in Michigan and I hope one day she has an event where we can all get together and gossip about clothes.
Laini! Can you PLEASE for all the statement thrifting, fashion loving girlies out there-- make a video on how the F to buy and incorporate basic pieces?!!! I have a closet of cool statement pieces and no way to ground them/wear them, and it’s a struggle I’ve literally always had! I don’t know how to keep those pieces in mind foot styling purposes when shopping for basics to glue them all together!!! SOS 😂
instead of keeping in mind everything i own, i'd just make a list of the kinds of basics i need (like for me currently thats: a long skirt, socks, a long dress, yoga pants, a long sleeve, a turtleneck, a coat that's not too long, and a form-fitting baby tee) and what kind of colors i need them in (basic colors i'm into and need rn are black, cream, maroon, and like one of those basics imma get in a sky blue) = what silhouette do i need, what colors do i need, what material/vibe etc do i need, are the questions those basics are answering, based on what would go well with / ground my statement pieces crossreferencing all those specific needs in terms of colors, materials, silhouettes... means in my case currently i'm on the hunt for a cream-colored long skirt, a black maxi dress, a bunch of socks (looking for a specific height + 100% cotton), one of those uniqlo thermal longsleeves in black, a cream-colored turtleneck, flared maroon yoga pants, a black or navy baby tee, and a khaki jacket. basically i dress like i did when i was 14 all over again but for you that might look entirely different, like; two different pairs of jeans, a burgundy bodysuit, a grey cropped hoodie, a grey fruit of the loom tshirt, a dark brown corset, a pair of smart black shoes, and a muted blue scarf and beanie combo only you can realy know nb greys and muted blues especially with color variation are always great as grounding colors also, if the outfit goes crazy, i go with a beige scarf and lowkey bag (currently either my mom's old brown leather bag with brassy hardware or a tote with muted embroidery on it), VS if the accessories are making the fit then all of the clothing pieces i'll pick will have colors that go well together and/or very clear lines good luck out there
@@saraoz2629 this was such a thoughtful response thank you so much, wow! I noticed even the basics you mentioned were in neutral colors and I am realizing that’s a big part of it for me- I had “basic pieces” but could never wear them as such because they too were a bright pop of color as well, and so could never really serve an otherwise also too colorful (for my taste) outfit. So I had a general understanding of cuts of pieces I wanted but the missing link was that they needed to be neutrals!
Maybe try iron on floral patches for the bag? That seems like it could work if you find cute ones. I had this idea because I got my daughter a couple of denim overalls and they all look so similar, and I'm too lazy and don't have the time to actually embroider.
This is why you’re my favorite fashion channel. Everything is cute, but you consider if it’s practical. Like who care if I look chic, I’m freezing. Give me that Aritzia Puffer. 😂😂
If you're looking for a short puffer, Wellensteyn puffers come in fun colors and there's a style with a removable fur lining around the hood. Really well made and super cute.
hey Laini!!Love your videos giiirlll❤❤...An idea for maybe another one would be haircuts?Emma Chamberlain just posted a really cool video called "hair theory" ,where she shows the history behind her choices on haircuts..but i think it would be even more interesting to do a video on hair but with categories, like short hair, medium, long, curly, straight, bangs or not...i'd love to see your ideas on what you think would be trendy,or just chic.Curly haired gal here with a a wolf cut for the past year, but i'm already bored of it, i want to have my hair longer but also be stylish?!
Pro tip for volume at the crown of your hair, I got reverse layers cut in and it’s been a game changer. My hair literally bounces when I walk from the volume.
Laini ❤ can you share about the challenge of only 5 purchases? And I’m a gold girl but I also have my moms silver watch so I bought a couple of gold-silver mixed pieces to tie in the two colors together 😊
Hmm, what if you bought a bunch of patches (flowers? or smth else?) and just sewed or even glued those all over a black bag. Why not? You could also sew on colorful rhinestone buttons here and there.
girl every time u post i’m kicking my feet and giggling just so u know

A few years ago I felt like I was the only person around who wore a watch. Glad to see young 'uns wearing one.

As an Egyptian, I love KOTN !! ❤
There are commercial enterprises that embroider clothing. they could do that bag probably.

I'll embroider your bag for you!!
Love this as usual ❤️ If you still want an embroidered bag, you can lookup secondhand Desigual bags, I think they might be a good match for you xx
