Interesting, because although I have been doing the minimalism thing, I am very interested in introducing some boho hero pieces. In fact, the more I look, the more upscale boho looks good to me. I just dont know if I can pull it off. Someone give me courage. I just purchased a vintage faux fur down lined coat off eBay. It's boxy and cool and everything I want. Cant wait to wear. I flowery dress under a sweater sounds like an idea to me.
When a colour comes along that is in fashion for a season that I know either doesn’t suit me or I won’t wear long term, I tend to incorporate it in the form of nail polish. Even colours that are hard to pull off (such as butter yellow, which can make me look jaundiced) are ok on my fingers or even just my toes. It’s a fun way to give a nod to the season (if you like the colour) without over investing.
If you have to wear running tennis shoes for whatever reason, they are also good for fashion colors. My tennies wear out in 3 months (i walk a lot), so i get to enjoy the fashion color for a few months and then onto the new shoes.
That's a good idea, but my nails always seem to be taken with their own seasonal trends. Pastels for spring, brights/neon for summer, moody and matte for fall, and sparkle for winter.
I have a Christmas tie that belonged to my dad. Every year, at least once, during the holidays I wear it with a banded collar silk blouse and lots of pearls paired with blue jeans. Always get stopped and complimented. BTW I' 73 years old.
Wow you sound very stylish. I wear jumpers and leggings mostly. I'm 40 and still in the trenches with six children. I hope as I find myself again I also find some confidence 😊
The idea of chunky loafers being in the doghouse is crazy because I think it was literally just 2 years ago that every brand was ripping off those platform Prada loafers. Like... when did they have time to go out and apparently come back?? I guess with the rise of ballet flats, I noticed less chunky shoes on the market in general this year, but I actually think chunky loafers are only "back" because they never actually went away lol.
Im not sure how seriously to take any of that. More chunky shoes are more natural in the colder months, while more sleek footwear is more natural in summer too.
@@anaispaws They have been trying to push out lug soled stuff for three years, and absolutely NO ONE is listening. It just too funny. There is definitely room for nice sleek shoes as well, but no, chunky soled loafers are still here.
@@Sharylanne With Jenna Ortega. Now I wouldn't mind if she went out of style. Im so tired of seeing her, and that other one. These far apart eyed Hollywood drippy boyish women are so boring now.
Yeah, a lot of what's in right now is "very me" (e.g., the pair of patent burgundy Oxfords I bought two years ago and got compliments on for the very first time this month - twice!) and it has me in a mild panic, lol. Fashion has been very NOT me for a decade, so I feel like I should take advantage of the moment and get things I know I'll love and continue to wear while they're here. But I've bought almost nothing for so long that I don't know how or where to shop anymore!
gotta always be on the lookout for the elements of trends that work for you in a different context too. modern boho chic is inspired by 60s/70s counterculture style, which itself was a retro edwardian "dorelia look" (which was *also* a retro moment from the preraphaelites which...). so my thrifted "boho chic" free people blouse gets paired with a knee-length heavy linen fantail skirt, reproduction 1890s boots, and a swoopy up-do and I'm living the modern gibson girl dream
I'm low-key excited for several of these trends because they're my favorite things and this means they'll be easier to get my hands on (both now and as they trickle into secondary after). Burgundy & leopard everything, bring it on! Specifically into my wardrobe, for me to wear forever because they're my favorites.
Kinda funny that this season I was ahead of the trends. I already have tons of green ( olive, sage, celery) & red ( maroon, wine, aubergine) in my closet. Already had leopard accessories & ditched skinny jeans in favor or wider legs & higher waist several seasons ago. Midis & maxis, that's all I wear as a 64 yr old woman who is not comfortable showing leg sans hosiery. Old school sneakers- never stopped wearing them. The only reason to invest in a trend is if it already aligns with your preferences & needs. Otherwise let it pass on by & wave as it leaves 😅
@@silliepixie Dito. I bought the black Lucy & Yak T-shirt with leopard trimmings. I'm not sure if I am a leopard print person, but I make the shirt work for me.
Hi Hannah! Wanted to let you know that you’ve inspired me to do a (probably 10 years overdue) declutter of my wardrobe - finally embracing my own changing style and the fact that the clothes I wore in high school (even the beautiful vintage pieces!) are not for me anymore and never will be again. Now those clothes get new homes and I get a “new” wardrobe of what’s left - clothes that fit my body and my personal style so much better 🥺🥳 not to be too dramatic but it’s been life changing!! Thank u for inspiring introspection, as always!!
""New" wardrobe of what's left" - I like this phrase, and it resonates so much with what I'm doing as well. It's amazing how new your clothes feel once you've decluttered and you see better all the wonderful clothes you already have.
Smart! A lot of my clothes from 10 years ago wouldn’t fit anymore, but my shoes/boots surely would. I regret getting rid of some of my knee-high boots.
For me too. I currently wear burgundy tights, a burgundy long sleeve and a black pinafore dress. It's one of my favourite fall outfits. Nice to know I'm very fashionable.
My husband has been SO into the denim on denim look this fall. He does it with well-worn western boots and groomed hair/facial hair and his normal thick-framed glasses. It ends up reading as a bit prep in a way that somehow works.
@@sallyjordan4869 I think long skirts are always in style, it just depends on how you accessorize them. You can also turn them into dresses in the summer which is SUPER handy.
If you like vintage-style shoes, I HIGHLY recommend Charlie Stone shoes. They are a little pricey, but they are great quality. I have a few pairs of their flats and love them (one pair was my go-to for my trip to Italy last year and saw me through many days of walking!). I will note that they tend to be a little narrow, so I make sure to only buy their real leather styles so I can stretch them to accommodate my wide little hobbit feet 😅
@@BelleChanson0717Just looked them up and they are very cool looking. I'd love to get my hands on a pair of those low t strap flats we wore in the 60s.
As a (somewhat) reformed punk, leopard print will never not be a neutral in my wardrobe. And on the topic of studs, they’re really hard to do right from the perspective of pre-studded manufactured items. As I’ve tried to elevate my wardrobe I’ve tried to keep some of my punk influences by getting studded items, but studded items that come from a nice brand always ring false and tacky, and not in a good tacky way. I love an intentionally tacky look, but if you want something studded it’s got to be done yourself (with the obvious exception of just like your classic stud punk belt or wrist cuffs). Studded shoes, studded expensive handbags, studded knitwear, all of these look like someone with no connection to the punk or rock ‘n’ roll scene woke up one day and decided to be “edgy“ and tried to buy their way into that subculture. So even as someone who has a lot of studded items still in my wardrobe, I won’t buy fancy studded things. It’s supposed to look harsh and it’s supposed to show your disdain for the item that you are studding, like you don’t care that it’s “ruining“ an expensive leather jacket to put studs in it. Buying a Valentino rock stud purse is the antithesis of that. it’s quite interesting to me to observe my reactions and find where that line is though.…
So how would you feel about a black thrifted jean jacket decked out in inch long studs scary enough to make Londoners actually not run into your shoulders? Is that original enough? I always wanted one of those, and I'd rather make it myself.
@@kellyprim6106for me it’s more when it’s a classically high end piece (like a ladylike t bad shoe from valentino covered in studs) that look tacky, when it’s got the grungy undertone, like a vintage leather jacket or some fun retro studded embellishment, that’s so different in my mind
I am a cooler toned pretty high-contrast person, so butter yellow is the least of my concerns, as I’ve never worn yellow since I was probably 5 years old. The neutral red, however, that keeps trending in my socials just has this grip on me I can’t escape. For now I’m playing around with a tote bag from a art shop for 3€ and a pair of socks I’ve had for years, and really loving it!
I've been wearing riding boots ever since I was old enough to. To me, riding boots are THE boots. I've always lived in big cities with cold and yucky winters and riding boots are the perfect solutions for those environments. They also fall into that amazing category that's sexy and badass at the same time. Or can be either depending on how you style them. Is it obvious I'm a huge fan? 😅 Now I'll go and dig out all my riding boots and wear them proudly absolutely everywhere. 😁
I grew up in GA, so our falls and winters were so mild that I never needed any footwear more complex than a sneaker or ankle boot. Lived in the northeast for a few years and sure enough, riding boots became my lifeline for half the year when the weather wasn't intense enough to require snow boots. They really helped keep me warm when the wind was super cutting! I'm tempted to get some again, as I have a lot of nostalgia for that time in my life and my wardrobe needs a boot refresher, but I'm back in the southeast and should really put that money/mental energy towards refreshing my outerwear. Sigh.
Riding boots are rather versatile. I seldom ditch good leather shoes, so Im all set. I have boat shoes, I have riding boots. Im just unsure of how to style them.
I'm having flashbacks to the 80s which was the last time I remember Preppy AND Metal studded clothing co existing lol. I did animal print & all black/ leather & studded everything in the 80s. Not me anymore. I lean more into Boho Chic at this point in my life. Monochromatic outfits with a bohemian flare. I ease of movement in my clothes & nothing to prissy or fussy.
It'll be interesting to look back decades from now on the 2010's, mostly the 2020's, and beyond and see which looks we associate with them. Because trends come and go more rapidly than they ever have before social media, I don't know if there will be a super distinctive look for these years the way there is for the 20's, 50's, etc. and it makes me oddly sad.
I've had butter yellow in my wardrobe for a while. It's not a color for everyone. It can get dirty easily, so wearing an apron is a good idea. I don't wear a lot of black. My main neutrals are ivory, taupe/brown, and grey. I usually throw my butter yellow in with light colored laundry, which I have plenty of. If you're unsure about a butter yellow garment for public viewing, you could try finding a nightgown and seeing if you enjoy wearing that color. I love mine.
@michellestr8998 Yeah. I just said it wasn't for everyone because I didn't think everyone would be drawn to it, and that's cool. My mom can wear bright yellow that I think overwhelms me, but I love it on her.
I wonder how many people know the details and history o the Canadian Tuxedo 😅 / We Canadian's had a less than stellar impression of the DENIM on DENIM being worn by Bing Crosby who was denied entry at checkin at his fancy Vancouver hotel in 1951, Levi Strauss jumped on the controversy and a trend was made. I always cringe at the thought that people might think that we Canadians invented or wear this trend, which tells you how I feel about it lol....
ha! This august I found a pair of (real) leather riding boots almost brand new at a charity shop for 6eur :) they’re lined with warm fabric too and have been really great for me already!
Is there a brand on them? Only asking because if they're lined with warm fabric they're unlikely to be leather. There's a lot of good fake leather in the equestrian world and some of it shines up to perfection with furniture polish but would be ruined by leather polish.
21:19 I’ve been against butter yellow for this whole year but these ballet flats are stunning. Butter yellow is still not welcome in my wardrobe though 😂
For me, riding boots were such a big part of my look 10-15 years ago that they sort of fall into that same outdated millennial set of things - chevron, no show socks, the Han Solo fall outfit (iykyk) etc. Over the years, the riding boots became cheaper and tackier looking. In a way, I still salivate over a beautiful riding boot, but I think my aversion to what the look became ultimately wins out. I will likely stick with western boots, which I have always loved and are also hot right now. I don’t think I will stop loving cowboy boots. I’m currently planning to add a new color of Frye Billy boots to my capsule shoe collection this season.
I think of trends as a way to buy things that suit me when they go out of fashion and are on clearance. I don’t think I’ve even been on trend since high school. As an adult I’m always late to the party because I wait for the trend to pass to decide if I really like it and by then it’s on sale. I’m always “so last season”.
I remember a shade of nail polish by Revlon called Rum Raisin. It was wildly popular in the 80s, as were garments of burgundy. It has a very retro feel to me. I'm awaiting burnt orange and harvest gold. 😅
YES,YES,YES. I remember too it was also a blush. My sister's wore it and I thought it was beautiful. I never saw anyone that the blush didn't look amazing on them. I was just thinking of this color from Revlon and wishing they'd bring it back.
I spent the whole of a year, I think it was 2009, searching for riding boots. But I'm 5'2", and I just couldn't get any that were the right size. I reckon that if I'd found the ones I was looking for they'd have been in style every year since
Like all ready to wear, learn the brands that fit you. I am 5'10", 36" inseam with a now medium calf. Even Amazon has wide calf brands. Sam Eldeman, Merrel, Hunter, and Ugg are tall enough for street wear. Ariat or Justin (actual riding boots) may have far more sizes and fits.
@@michellestr8998 My calves are very short, but probably a pretty average width. I have found that a lot of the tall boots I've tried on are too long, so they come up above where my knee bends, so it makes it v uncomfortable to walk An additional problem is that they're expecting the widest part of my calf to be higher up than it is, so they squeeze me uncomfortably tight in the middle and then gape at the top
This is exactly why I avoid trends. I have riding boots that are decades old and I wear them every year (as part of my style). I have burgundy tops and a two bags that I have been wearing for years and will continue to wear. I have leopard prints items that I wear each yellow. Fashion is temporary and Style is evergreen. The key is to figure out your personal style, whatever that is, choose the best quality you can afford, take care of basic grooming, and wear your style with confidence. Simple.
I bought a pair of black riding boots many years ago and every fall winter they are my outdoor footwear. They are large enough to wear good wool warm socks and tuck my pants into. Black is my neutral. My black leather purse has gold hardware that brings me joy. I love my Burgundy cashmere pullover for serious winter warmth both physically and visually.
Great video, I loved hearing your takes on these trends! I think the country house, riding boots, and prep school trends would work very well together. Vintage silk scarves would be a softer take on the tie trend. I will personally skip the studs and leopard prints. 🐆
A pop of leopard print has been a constant in my wardrobe for years! But I can’t see how butter yellow would work with my coloring-it’s just too pale and desaturated to be flattering as anything more than an accessory for me, but then I don’t see them going with the other colors that dominate my wardrobe. Honestly dark cherry is a lot more timeless-feeling for me than butter yellow. I do like some of the studs I’m seeing! Me + Em has some lovely studded flats, and Freda Salvador’s Ellis Mini Crescent bag makes a very compelling argument for studs in small-ish doses.
As you read the first one, "Country House Chic," I was, in fact, hemming a relaxed long plaid skirt. (In a muddy purple color, just in case someone needed to know that for whatever reason)
As a Canadian, I'm in actual pain whenever anyone uses the phrase "CanadianTuxedo". It was known as a Texas Tuxedo when I was growing up, & it feels like Texas realized how hideous it was, & exiled it to Canada. I can only speak for Ontario, where 38% of the CDN population lives, but I just don't see the denim jacket and/or shirt/jeans combo on the street barely ever. Even when it's in fashion. The odd time I fly out the door & realize that I've done it, I'm mortified the whole damn day.
Me too! I hadn’t heard the term until this season and thought it was referring to a good look. I guess I’m wrong. I’m Canadian and a bit sad about this new term.
If you are good at print mixing, I feel like the brown/beige leopard can work really well as a neutral. In the same way that plaids can become neutrals. And if those colors fit seamlessly into a lot of your wardrobe. I am not that person. But I have seen people look fabulous and very fashion wearing leopard.
All of the fashion influencers I've ever watched pronounce it like the Italian man audio you played (without the Italian accent). Stress (accent) is on the second syllable.
1. Love Carhartt utility jackets with authentic wear that is earned. One Carhartt ball cap is a good minimalist choice to go with everything. 3 I thought Canadian tuxedo was red and black buffalo plaid? Photos look more Boho because of shapes and detail vibes. 4. Riding boots are a classic, maybe quiet luxury. Leading into Western boot-heels is more of a trend, maybe some tooling details. 5. Already had a lot of burgundy, dark cherry, cranberry pieces but combining in fresh ways like with adjacent analogous combos or with yellowish, light greens. Color more important in accessories. Dark cherry Maryjanes with kitten heels might satisfy as the one color-statement accessory. I am happy to find new purposes to burgundy-family pieces that I was almost ready to declutter. 7. Preppy is a classic that stays in my closet decade after decade. Oxford shirt and wool crew neck never looks out of style. 11. Great observation of T-bar detail. Very useful reminder. 13. Neckties on a bare neck tucked into an open shirt is a good look too. I am old enough to reminisce about Annie Hall vibes. I think the trend is more about verticality of multiple layers. A great use for all those fabric self-belts when you wrap them like a tie without it actually being a tie. 14. I like the look of glove flat maryjanes but not on my swollen wide feet. I'll keep my classic ballet flats.
Ties are fabric necklaces, just like bolo ties area leather/metal/stone/fabric necklaces. Wish I could wear riding boots, but I've got big ole ankles, stovepipes as lower legs. Laceup boots are about my only option, especially after an ankle break that happened 20 yrs ago this coming December. Ballet flats don't work for me either. I've got a Morton's foot with a small heel. None of them fit, not to mention simply stay on. I'm more of a zebra than a leopard print gal, and love plaids. Back in the 80's I grabbed a plaid skirt and top that, even though they were different patterns, they were in the same color family, so I wore them together. Butter yellow looks utterly wretched with my coloring. It's either gotta be an light icy yellow, or in the yellow squash range for me to consider being enwrapped in such hues. Butter yellow on me is much like peach is: blergh. Thanks HLP.
the exciting thing about denim is that (at least for me) it is an aesthetically challenging fabric, and aesthetical challenges often result in a more interesting result. Studs - I think metal is a performance material, i.e. if it is there it should be doing a job (snaps, etc).
I think denim on denim and prep school are definitely the easiest for me to try. Def agree with you on shoes at large. Also I’ve been binging your videos for the past couple days and put myself in a monochromatic outfit today (very unlike me). I’ve been inspired!
Butter yellow? Nope I’ve got a yellow tone skin and I look out and out jaundiced if I wear any form of yellow. Love to hear your take on the latest fashion trends, you are so intuitive
The riding boots comment about good shoes is 100% on point. I’m still rocking my brown Clark riding boots from 2013 😂 I’ve replaced the zippers on each boot twice. Take care of your things and it’ll last you a lifetime
I bought the Everlane glove flats probably 5 years ago, and although they haven't gotten as much use over in the past couple years they still look great! Mine are a cool beige/taupe that kind of blend in with my skin tone and give that minimal look. If you need a lot of support however I would recommend an orthopedic insert with them.
Here’s the thing .. over the past 4 years I’ve decluttered about 80% of my closet because of various reasons (doesn’t fit properly, not fitting my personal style or different functions in my lifestyle, worn out pieces I love but time to replace) I do buy trends but it’s trends that I will still be wearing when they’re not trends because they fit my personal style & taste I do fall in the trap every now & then but as I rebuild my closet it’s more functional & fun Also thanks to a video you did about fit, shape, material & color im making better choices ❤
Ties can serve some functional purpose in the outfit (alongside all the aesthetic benefits): Ties are the neckwear between nothing and a scarf. Perfect for fall chills.
I wear in all season classic colors black white beige and cream, neutrals with soft fabrics . I add more ox blood or earth tones, browns grey..as accessories during the fall or winter. Either bags, shoes jewelries is how I am add trendy items. Also textures like suede, leather cashmere ..are more fall winter. Stay with the classic and you won’t look dated .
New subscriber here. I wanted to let you know that I’m following you for the fashion videos. I love them. It’s nothing personal about not being into the beauty make-up videos (I’m not into any of them). I’m allergic to everything put on my face except for coconut oil. Anyhow, I’m really enjoying your take on fashion and I absolutely love how you are inclusive with the models you show in your videos. I’m 65 and have recently been into learning to wear graphic t-shirts with a pattern over shirt. Could you please do a video about pattern on pattern tops? Or maybe you have already done so and I haven’t come across it yet.
Butter yellow is my time to shine!! As a person of color whose favorite color is butter yellow. I’ve finally had an easier time to find items in this shade! Butter yellow has become my neutral instead of a traditional beige:)
It’s interesting you found barn jackets to be a more easily incorporated trend compared to riding boots. Personally, I feel people are far more likely to have riding boots in their closets than a barn jacket. In my opinion the boots are pretty classic and I see them every fall/winter despite the fact they haven’t been trending the past few years. Also, you can easily style them under jeans if they are fitted well. Alternatively rarely see women in barn jackets, could all be regional though.
Entirely true. I have always wanted a waxed jacket, but I dont have on. I have bunch of Barbour jackets that sort of approximate, and one black Burberry quilted jacket.
At minute 15:12, you say that if you already have items to pull off the trend then "it is your moment to shine." I have never been one to buy based on seasonal trends, so like this framing that seasonal trends give different people moments to shine. In the book of my life, there will be seasons when I am on trend and seasons where I am not, but all along, I will dress like me.
I may wear something from my large wardrobe that is "on trend" without seasonal effort. 😂😊♥️ It is more what is comfortable & fits my body type while still being stylish. 😊❤ Thanks, Hannah. ❤
I used to wear leopard print all the time. And I always treated it as a neutral. To see this trend come back made me feel both excited and old 😂 I have purchased a pair of leopard print jeans recently and felt like I had entered a time warp when I wore them. 😂 I think the theme I am clocking with all of these trends are things I wore in my 20s. I wore ties, studs, leopard print, faux fur etc in my early 20s.
Very happy to see that burgundy is a trend, cause it's one of my favourites - my everyday chelsea boots are a deep brownish plum/red tone, so perhaps i will finally be able to find a co-ordinating belt now that it's trendy
Hannah, idk if you'll see this, but just in case, please know that when you zoomed in on Jake Henry Smith's little face, I misread the article sub-heading as "Hello again, Bob," instead of "Hello again, boho," and thought to myself, what a whimsical chap!
1. Plaid is good sometimes. Will likely wear stuff I already have. Not sure about adding anything though. 2. Boho tends to look sloppy, but occasionally can work. It’ll remain a maybe category. 3. Denim on denim can look cool, but somehow never looks right on me. 4. Riding boots are pretty classic. They may be more popular at times, but never totally go out. 5. I own dark cherry, love it and wear it. This isn’t a trend for me. 6. Prep school style works in a certain venue. It’s not quite something I go out of my way to wear these days, but definitely have in the past. It’s fairly classic and tends to work well in an office wear you don’t have to wear a suit, but need to be fancier than jeans. 7. Chunky loafers look cool on other people. 8. Animal print in moderation is good. Some people can go all out. It’s usually best in natural looking colors. 9. I like the butter yellow trend, but rarely wear yellow. It seems like something to buy one piece for, but don’t invest a lot in it. Trying different things out from time to time makes things more interesting. 10. T-bar shoes. These usually look best as heals I don’t really wear anymore. Can be great though. 11. I have a few things with fur accents. Going all out isn’t for me. It’s also generally polyester. It’s not my fav, but can look cool on some people. 12. Neckties might be cool. Might be worth trying out. Maybe… 13. Not for me. Trend note are a good time to reflect on what works for you, experiment a little, and use things you haven’t used in awhile.
I was over the moon to see Mary Jane shoes come back into fashion because it meant I would be able to buy some. I wear my shoes for YEARS, and I am equally excited for riding boots to come back in so I can add them to my collection. I have a pair of beautiful brown leather ones that I have owned for 13 years and have resoled twice, and I really, really want some black ones. This is why I love shoe trends. I have a mental list of what I want and I just wait for them to come to me. I have very long feet, not in the normal size range so I have to wait usually.
Those butter yellow flats are so fire. I see me wearing them with tan, denim, black, white, even the muted reds, blue and greens in my wardrobe. They would pair amazing. Alas, It’s a no buy year 😊 2024 for me so these shoes are on my list 😂 and I careless that I have to shop out of season. The satisfaction to not shop and only shop my closet has been a rollercoaster whilst the biggest confidence boost this decade. I recommend it for everyone. When out and about lately, I am rarely outdressed. Okay, it’s a small town. 🎉Thanks so much for your videos and looking forward to your capsule wardrobe fall talks. ❤ ps- grammar shammer please don’t critique my writing 😂 I gave up lifetimes ago.
I‘m moving away from my chelsea boots because I shifted completely from cigarette pants to wide leg pants and paired with those I don’t like the Silhouette and look my chelsea boots that much anymore. It hurts because I have 4 pairs but won’t get rid of them anytime soon… Definitely not going to buy trendy boots but wearing my plateau boots and wallabee style.
I have a few pairs of ballet flats from a brands called yosi samra, they're real leather and have lasted me for years. Most comfortable ballet flats I've ever worn
I just am not invested enough in the details of fashion to not see these articles and just see the same thing year over year described slightly differently. Boho 3.0 indeed.
Thanks for critique! Studs are old. I like them and i have them but im putting away . Same as leopard. Bored! Love burgundy, it's my color so for me it's not about trend. Never had riding boots, missed them the first time around. Maybe next time I'll jump on. I might have some fun putting together an interesting Canadian tuxedo. And believe it or not, several years back i bought some cool chunky burgundy patent leather loafers! I don't know how flattering they are in me but I'll try styling them 😊
I saw a dark cherry /maroon trend page. Loved it. But I wear that color often. I don’t do trends. I buy for my body not a trend. I buy for comfort (not sloppy). My office( it’s in a warehouse setting) is VERY casual. It s cold in my office. So I wear a sweater all year around. We wear hoddies and sweatshirts jeans most days. We wear thick sweaters and jeans. I am buying a pair of black loafers soon. 🖤🖤🖤 I love leopard print. I have one short sleeve blouse and a large wide scarf🐆 my scarf has black, tan and gray tones.
studs, boho, thigh high boots paired with the ballet flat resurgence, please do not tell me we are re-entering the early 2010s, i still need some space from that era, thanks!!
Footwear trends I need to ignore - long boots never go up my calves, chunky shoes just look stupid on me, and I've stayed with pointed flats since 2003 😂 Glad that I already have dark cherry accessories- trends just came to me!
I bought a purse and pair of chunky loafers in burgundy for this fall/winter. I live in a very warm climate so buying lots of outerwear is kinda pointless. But I’m going to make those two purchases my only ones trend wise this fall
Chunky loafers are going to be in for a long time and many more seasons in my opinion. They really do come back each fall it seems. I think they're worth investing in if they suit your style. And your style mood board says they do. Go for it, Hannah!
Does Leopard print be a neutral? I am not sure. It depends whst you are associate with it. I have bought a very fresh print in leo look in the summer time and I have weared it in the summer time with a creme shirt and I Iloves it. I will cert ainly wear my "older"Leo long Shirt but I don't find it easy to wear. But it is subjective feeling. Amyway I love this video. Good and intersting insights about that trend. Good job😊
I saved from being throwed away an old "enciclopedia" of knitting and sewing from the seventies... so beautiful images of the lost art of creating clothes and "biancheria per la casa". Beh, i have now understood where stylists get their ideas... from the past, even the recent past... the clothes seem familiar but there is something new as well... this might not be the only source of ispiration... but surely an important one... the elements are in the past and are assembled in different ways... in the fifties and seventies they were incredibly creative...
I’ve always loved leopard print, but I’m very picky about it. It has to be realistic looking- the more realistic, the better! Also, this is just a silly pet peeve of mine, but I can’t stand it when people mix up cheetah print with leopard print. Cheetahs have *spots,* leopards have *rosettes.* They are not the same! lol And on a tangential note, I love cheetahs. Out of the big cats, they’re my favorite! 💗

It’s a fun way to give a nod to the season (if you like the colour) without over investing.
nail polish! genius.
I'm gonna borrow your idea ❤
If you have to wear running tennis shoes for whatever reason, they are also good for fashion colors. My tennies wear out in 3 months (i walk a lot), so i get to enjoy the fashion color for a few months and then onto the new shoes.
That's a good idea, but my nails always seem to be taken with their own seasonal trends. Pastels for spring, brights/neon for summer, moody and matte for fall, and sparkle for winter.
Yellow nail polish looks like fungal infection...
I do this with my phone case!

It’s all bs tbh, a fashion writer here, and I’m confirming: chunky loafers were never out
@@anaispaws They have been trying to push out lug soled stuff for three years, and absolutely NO ONE is listening. It just too funny. There is definitely room for nice sleek shoes as well, but no, chunky soled loafers are still here.
I was thinking the same thing….it was the Wednesday Adam’s look. So part 2 is coming out in 2025 so then they will be back “in” according to “fashion”

I’ve got ten pairs of Frye Harness boots. Heard they are in this year. I had a librarian gush over my red pair….”boots of her dreams”

I agree. I love the idea of trends, because then people sell really great stuff for no reason as they are "out". Their loss, my gain.
@@eikawithac Sounds gorgeous.
Agreed!
As someone from a cold climate, I dont want extra metal on my clothing!! No thank u studs, im not looking to carry the cold with me.

Me in 2015: I’ll just keep my favorite riding boots for another 10 years and they’ll be back in style. Everything old is new again! Again!
Smart! A lot of my clothes from 10 years ago wouldn’t fit anymore, but my shoes/boots surely would. I regret getting rid of some of my knee-high boots.
I regret getting rid of so many things from high school lol
“I only wear jeans and I only have this jean jacket” lmao it’s me and no one can stop me!! 🤣
I love it! This will be on the runways in a couple of season, just you wait :)
Burgundy is not a trend for me, it’s been one of my colors for as long as I can remember!
For me too.
I currently wear burgundy tights, a burgundy long sleeve and a black pinafore dress.
It's one of my favourite fall outfits.
Nice to know I'm very fashionable.
Me too! It's central to my color palette. Maybe I will be able to find a few pieces this fall. I would love some burgundy pants.
Same. I'm hoping to add a couple of pieces this season.
Yes!!! Burgundy is a neutral to me
I wear butter yellow as well. Been mixing it with navy and khaki for many years. Who knew I was so fashion forward.
Maybe a burgundy sock peeping out the top of black Chelsea boot is an easy low cost way to approach the trend and tie in other accessories.
Oh, I love this suggestion. I honestly forget about styling my socks!
"You thought this video was about Fashion, but it turned out to be about a grammar lesson" 😂 I am here for you!!! 💝
My husband has been SO into the denim on denim look this fall. He does it with well-worn western boots and groomed hair/facial hair and his normal thick-framed glasses. It ends up reading as a bit prep in a way that somehow works.

I’m happy T-bar shoes are back because its my favorite style of heels. It will be nice to easily find a new pair to replace my worn ones
Mary Janes, not T-bar
This is exactly what i felt about what happened with ripped and distressed jeans 😂

As a tall woman, I loved a T-bar heel when I wore heels more. I felt like the length of my leg could handle that break in length.
I love yellow. I see absolutely no reason to not wear it. I like pale pale yellow, and I like sunny yellow too.
@@PodieM18 thank you
Interesting!
The decor preview! The color drench!
I think I'm always in the fashion doghouse in some way but I dig it!
My boomer mom wore this lipstick - almost exclusively- for all of the 80’s and 90’s… I think it was discontinued. (Clinique)
"Heavy, metal lumps on your clothes" 😂😂 Hard agree!
I remember my friend Randy had a black blazer in the early 80s with studded sleeves. It was memorable obviously.
I have pair of Alexander MQ oversized tennis with studs, and I have been wearing them for years, everyone love them.
Riding boots are so tough because unless you have thin calves or are taller than 5’3 they just don’t fit very often. I love the look though.
I agree! At 5'3" with slim calves (14" circumference) I have not been able to find riding boots that do NOT look like above the knee galoshes on me🤣
What happens? I have kind of average calves, and I haven't had many problem.
@@michellestr8998 My calves are very short, but probably a pretty average width. I have found that a lot of the tall boots I've tried on are too long, so they come up above where my knee bends, so it makes it v uncomfortable to walk
An additional problem is that they're expecting the widest part of my calf to be higher up than it is, so they squeeze me uncomfortably tight in the middle and then gape at the top
ooo love the scarf tie concept
I love the cherry red trend, and the brighter red trend that happened recently
Ive only heard Texas Tuxedo until the last few years. It does feel like some sort of campaign against Canadians haha
As someone who thinks leopard print flats are a neutral on one hand and a focus point in a mono chromatic outfit I kinda like it
If you are good at print mixing, I feel like the brown/beige leopard can work really well as a neutral. In the same way that plaids can become neutrals. And if those colors fit seamlessly into a lot of your wardrobe. I am not that person. But I have seen people look fabulous and very fashion wearing leopard.
Sorry, but that guy butchered "Bottega Veneta", you had it right the first time.
God that guy made my ears bleed. I feel like if you went on Google translate and set It to Italian you would get a more accurate pronunciation
I was searching the comments for this omg 😅 It was so strange to ear !

I was called Annie Hall just a few weeks ago. Anne of Green Gables and Annie Lennox. My friend was trying every Anne that fit.
Felix’s little fork! So adorable

Ive had yellow shoes and they somehow go with everything 😊
Here’s the thing .. over the past 4 years I’ve decluttered about 80% of my closet because of various reasons (doesn’t fit properly, not fitting my personal style or different functions in my lifestyle, worn out pieces I love but time to replace)
I do buy trends but it’s trends that I will still be wearing when they’re not trends because they fit my personal style & taste
I do fall in the trap every now & then but as I rebuild my closet it’s more functional & fun
Also thanks to a video you did about fit, shape, material & color im making better choices ❤
Yay, new HLP on surgery day. I can feel myself relaxing, but that may be the meds.

Barn jackets and riding boots together are "classic"
At minute 15:12, you say that if you already have items to pull off the trend then "it is your moment to shine." I have never been one to buy based on seasonal trends, so like this framing that seasonal trends give different people moments to shine. In the book of my life, there will be seasons when I am on trend and seasons where I am not, but all along, I will dress like me.
I may wear something from my large wardrobe that is "on trend" without seasonal effort. 😂😊♥️ It is more what is comfortable & fits my body type while still being stylish. 😊❤
Thanks, Hannah.
Don’t trust the internet Hannah, you said it right the first time ! And I’m Italian
Elegantly integrated into the use value of that item 👏🏽
Maybe…
I’ve never been more excited for spon con in my life 😂❤ Feed that fam yall! 💗
The riding boots trend from my crazy horsy girl pov :
- pros : I already have riding boots 🎉
- cons : my riding boots smell horse poo 🥲
I love leopard print. I have one short sleeve blouse and a large wide scarf🐆 my scarf has black, tan and gray tones.
Sooo excited for the Dark Cherry. My colors in several analysis systems are all the reds!!! So investing in forever pieces this year!!
YES PLEASE FLOOR LENGTH PLAID SKIRT. Come ooonnnnn H&M! Please finnnnally get this in stores, I've been looking for YEARS.
studs, boho, thigh high boots paired with the ballet flat resurgence, please do not tell me we are re-entering the early 2010s, i still need some space from that era, thanks!!
Footwear trends I need to ignore - long boots never go up my calves, chunky shoes just look stupid on me, and I've stayed with pointed flats since 2003 😂
Glad that I already have dark cherry accessories- trends just came to me!
I bought a purse and pair of chunky loafers in burgundy for this fall/winter. I live in a very warm climate so buying lots of outerwear is kinda pointless. But I’m going to make those two purchases my only ones trend wise this fall
Plaid? Dark cherry? Studs?
FINALLY, IT'S MY TIME TO SHINE. 🖤
Chunky loafers are going to be in for a long time and many more seasons in my opinion. They really do come back each fall it seems.
I think they're worth investing in if they suit your style. And your style mood board says they do. Go for it, Hannah!
I think we need a video making sense of shoe wear. I constantly feel like I have no shoes and the only shoes I wear seem to all fall apart. Help!
Good job😊
First time I saw riding boots trending was in the beginning of the 80s! I feel like you can wear them always.
I have 7 meters of viscose plad in my colours waiting on becoming dress and men's shirt.. I am not mad at getting influenced by this at all :-D
I love studs on boots and outerwear! I hate them on anything thats going to touch my skin, they'll just make me cold.
I’ve always loved leopard print, but I’m very picky about it. It has to be realistic looking- the more realistic, the better!
Also, this is just a silly pet peeve of mine, but I can’t stand it when people mix up cheetah print with leopard print. Cheetahs have *spots,* leopards have *rosettes.* They are not the same! lol
And on a tangential note, I love cheetahs. Out of the big cats, they’re my favorite! 💗
Congrats on this sponsorship ❤
For the tie trend I can see using a thin scarf in its place. It seems more practical .
