My issue with DF is that it got nerfed so hard in blue moon that's it's harder to use then *direct hit* 💀 Why tf they thought those hitboxes are fine? They're so small
All of you keep joking about Alan's amount of input but I unironically love it whenever he actually talks. Especially whenever he disagrees with Zesty. It's like he always tries to think about stuff from many different perspectives. If it's just shyness or anything like that that stops him from talking more - I hope he'll overcome. He's cool and chill. Nohomo.
In short, a sickybomb main experiences counterplay for the first time and cannot comprehend what's happening. That segment on heavy is genuinely one of the most insane points I've heard an ostensibly experienced player make with a straight face.
The thing about UFR that I love most is when you guys go off-topic and expand heavily off said cool topic. The entire thing about editing is actually really interesting and makes me reflect on my own editing for future projects that isn't just slap a bunch of shit on a compilation and call it a day. These discussions need to be made since it helps other content creators thinka bout their own content aswell "Is it better if I spend an hour or two to make this transition or do I just fade into the next clip". Very expansive discussion and I'd love to see more of it as your content expands Lucid.
ngl it doesn't even seem like the others in the voice call managed to explain to him properly why TF2 was clearly designed with rocket jumping in mind. Honestly it seems like that Zesty meant original Team Fortress wasn't particularly designed with rocket jumping in mind while Team Fortress 2, in fact, was.
I was referring to the original mechanic of rocket jumping not being an intentional feature initially (quake, tf classic) Only until TF2 did valve bake it in as an intentional mechanic.
@@zestyalt The problem is you are just completely wrong man, base singleplayer Quake has secrets you can only access through rocket jumping, even DOOM 2 has secrets that you have to use rocket jumping to access. the idea that by the time Quake TF came out that Robin Walker wouldn't have known and accounted for rocket jumping is just silly
i think people just took the talking point of "out of all the classes, spy is probably the weakest overall" to "spy is the worst class in the game". like, not that spy is bad, but yes if theres one class who is considered the "weakest", it would probably be spy in terms of damage dulled out and such, but "weakest" in that context is only relative to the other classes, and doesnt mean spy is a weak or bad class overall. im not sure exactly when this became the case, but its my best guess as to why people shit on spy so much. that or either people try spy for 5 minutes, constantly die, and just blame the class. either or.
@@tomas6621I think it's more about peoples not having enough skill to play the spy. Spy has very specific play style that is different from other classes and if you don't know how to utilize it, you will be dragged on the bottom of score board. Bugs when infuriating sometimes ain't that common and most of the time everything work well. Spy simply need a little more than shooting enemy. That's why lot of peoples don't get how to play it
Aw, too bad I've missed the livestream. Out of my 1.4k on tf2 most of them were on demoknight when I was still playing. I hope the video touches on all the scizo level shit that you can get out of the charge mechanic (fps-dependant rotation speed, double turn imputting, velocity management to prevent charge loss, splendid screen trimping and all of the unholy deeper shit like directionality of turning mattering on insanely broken turnspeeds) that makes him viable even with more competent enemies, gives him an actual high skill ceiling (basically a completely different movement system that's probably on par with blast jumping?) and makes him go beyond "run in, get a dumb kill, tank damage due to stupid strong resistances and repeat".
As much as I'd love to make a joke about ubered, buff bannered, buffalo steak Heavies crit punching women in the face, I think any time somebody says "X class is bad," a number displaying the amount of times they've been killed by said class should be displayed. I guarantee a majority of discourse around Spy or Demoknight being bad or weak would dissappear overnight. Every class has their role in TF2. Even Heavy, as easily countered as he is, is an integral part of the game.
kicking the vid maker for calling trimping a gimmick and forgetting the class the mechanic is attached to. You will have more use with the sticky jumper because it's not bound by a long cooldown and can send you further (plus air pogos). or the fact you could get overhealed and just launch yourself normally with the stock stickybomb launcher trimping is exclusively a gimmick. While there is a skill-ceiling debate, that doesn't make it any less of a gimmick. There are better means of doing what it does with the sole exception being not getting guaranteed melee crits, but when you have to sacrifice your second primary weapon for a slight buff to your melee, it's clear what the better option is.
4:32 A simple fix would be: Give Flamethrowers overheat mechanic in exchange for slightly more dmg but also smaller fire cone(aka smaller dmg radius, aka you have to aim more with flamethrowers) This simulateously fixes Pyro being too weak in comp, but also makes him not as easy to pick up.
Even with this fix pyro wouldn't be viable in competitive, bc no matter how damage you give to pyro - he is still at disadvantage to soldier, scout and demo due to his short range, they simply outdamage you before you get close. And also i think nothing should be balanced to competitive - competitive should balance itself
Am I crazy or is Demoknight just randomly immune to airblast? Swear I've lost count of how many times he just walks through my airblast, not even charging _Also, just a thought, the charge really shouldn't remove bleed_
My one balance to demoknight, remove the ability to keep the heads when he changes loadout. He doesn't get to be scout speed, and soldier tank just because my newbie spy kept getting killed and I get to suffer for it, PLEASE REMOVE THIS, it's usually punished because people catch on, but why does the newbie get to make us all pay for not having enough hours on the game. It's not fun for the f2p and the entirety of their team >:C As a heavy main, I already strugle with demoman, I don't need nukeman in my life. Edit: for the argumanets lucid My god... I wasn't expecting that one. But yeah as an artist have to agree with everyone else here, some people want to do art at a proffesional level, but there is something to apreciate those artists who DON'T pursue something as advanced as I personally would like to. Some people just draw as a hobby and don't want to put hours in studying anatomy, lighting, composition etc, etc. But can still create something lovely. And then there's post-modernist making "art" out of an empty soda can... and people buying into that shit Yes that's a thing that has happened recently e.e. I'd have to agree we need to have a more apreciative culture on what's hard earned skills on it's purest expression but also apreciation of what's basically homemade cookies, not 5 michelin starts, very quirky looking, not the healthiest thing you want to eat, but tasty and cozy non-the-less. We can throw the soda can into the trashcan. Personally I can enjoy both, carefully made videos and shower them with praise but also watch just some dude his dog and in the wild and nothing much of editing at all. a lot of art comentary channels go in the trash can.

because faster then scout and more health as soldier will be hard as fuck to fight in a good player's hands, moreso then other classes. maybe not by much, to be fair, but still, an amount nonetheless. imo anyways.

He charged into full health Heavies and sentries multiple times lol. Like they said he never explained what "bad" means to him, he just listed weaknesses of Demoknight and said stock doesn't have those same weaknesses
Demoknight is TF2's most degenerate and worst designed form of gameplay, only appealing to the lowest common denominator of players who want to the ability to cheaply one shot people and die after with zero effort or skill involved, unlike sniper's aiming and spy's timing. Even pyros and heavies are more appealing to play against. Take a good look at 99% of demoknights you see in pubs and what they represent - they give friendlies a run for their money.
Landshark pyro is much more poorly designed then demoknight. It actively rewards you for sewerslidal w+m1 so when you come back to life the canister will be filled.
But then you can't use pyro shark on maps where there is no water and relaying on gas passer or other means like mad milk to deal crit damage is unreliable. If anything pyro shark mostly exist to bypass counter that is simply being in water where nothing expect shotgun works
