Calling Huntsman hitbox detection janky is 100% accurate because the game could be more accurately tracking hits by colliding with the bullet hitboxes rather than the collision hull. And we know it's not a technical limitation because of all projectiles, STICKYBOMBS collide with those hitboxes.

Honestly Ive just been enjoying this podcast less and less as time goes on because it seems like you guys are hitting the same note in every stream. I know that's all that you guys can do with the state the game is in, but it's always "Sniper, Team recognition, old good new bad", and I'm not even talking about standards or anything, it's just so repetitive hearing the same issues that we all know won't get fixed because Valve can't be asked to do anything besides sell crates and keys. The only statement we can make about TF2 is scream into the void and hope something or someone responds, but it has lead to this mentality on focusing on every new thing that comes out about the game and nitpicking it until you physically can't. I genuinely enjoy it when you guys talk about other things that aren't TF2 but even then it becomes unfunny and repetitve when the same rhetoric about TF gets applied to Minecraft.

And as you said, there isn't much to talk about tf2 that hasn't been spoken before. They could do something else like gathering together to create cosmetics, making maps, hosting small tournaments, anything creative-wise. Anything that isn't making a podcast surrounding a dead game that doesnt give that much to talk about besides dead artstyle or mediocre cosmetics.
