The first time I saw sugar gliders was at the fair in my town. I really wanted to get them right then and there but I didn't because I knew I needed to do more research on them and we already had ferrets. I have been doing research for 2 years and now I am just waiting for the right time to come to get them

I did a ton of research before getting sugar gliders, I got them from a breeder and got them proper toys and food etc. turns out even researching for hours didn't prepare me. I had them for about a year before finding a home for them who devotes sooo many hours a day to them.

Thank you so much for making this video. This is probably going to help out people who're doing their research and wanted to quickly check out youtube for videos, people recommend this to friends now, etc. Just having a video talking about the awareness of sugar gliders and how they're obtained and their care is so very helpful. I bet you made this because certain youtubers who have never owned one before are starting to impulse buy them and then not spend time or money on them once they're done with them. Just like celebrities who think owning a tiger or lion means you're powerful and do not care about the well being of the animal besides having it for a status symbol. I see you care so deeply and are very passionate to educate people. So that's why i follow you. I'm always happy to see people who care so much about animals too ^__^

I've always wanted a glider but unfortunately that will never be a reality since my kitties would be too curious and would end in disaster but I still love watching videos on them so if in out in some kind of weird situation comes up I can at least help educate someone if they are wanting to purchase one

I am currently doing my research on them. If I do get them I am getting them from Craig’s list. I have to wait a year or two because I have a pup to train and come up with like 600 hundred dollars.
wendy clark why Craigslist?! Yes some breeders sell on there but they are mostly mill breeders and back yard breeders. You should join some sugar glider groups on Facebook and find a reputable breeder to buy from. You could get a pair of standard greys with lineage from most breeders for $300 total. Cataleah has some great links for information and a Facebook group that will lead you to finding many more. Sugar Gliders and Sugar Glider Fanatics are the two biggest, most popular ones on Facebook.
My mom impulse bought a sugar glider from the fair a few years ago, and then another one for her cause she got lonely. It was a boy, and then they mated, and then their son killed the first one's mate. A bunch of incest later we now have 6 of them, and I have to take care of them cause they were too much for my mom. Lucky me.😑

When I was in kc for the reptile expo pocket pets was there :/ so I was telling as many people as I could how wrong their info about sugar gliders was. I mean they were saying how sugar gliders love eating chick fil a!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! It took everything in me to not start destroying their booth with my own two hands -_- stupid selfish ignorant god it makes my blood boil.

If you find yourself looking for someone to take in a glider (or 5 lol) please look my way. I live in Kansas and I got my first two suggies from my cousin, who rescues as well. I fell in love before ever having one, I connect with animals more than people. I actually started and ran a puppy mill rescue in my hometown, Basehor, while in High school. I started by creating the website myself, in my web class. I know I opened many eyes to the animal "mill" problem because people continued to fight it even after my school took down my site (I could not afford to transfer it to my own domain after graduation). I have had many different species of pets, from dogs to ferrets to lizards, but gliders are by far my favorite. My boys and I bonded so quickly, I can't imagine my life without them.

I remember seeing a sugar glider at a house expo with my family. they put the glider on me it went into my hood and I fell in love imedently, I then did lots of research then I soon realized its a lot of work and it's not for me. I have rabbits and i dont think I could take care of them atm. they were so expensive like $500 I'm so happy I didn't get one cause I would feel so guilty getting one then having it be miserable because I didn't know how to take care of it.

I know exactly what you mean, the same goes for chinchillas. There is so much misinformation out there making them out to be low maintenance, easy pets when that is FAR from the truth. I wanted sugar gliders for years but made the decision not too after all
