I am Circassian; we are a Muslim people native to the Caucasus mountains
We resisted the Russian imperial onslaught for over one hundred years; in the end they wiped out half our population and expelled the remainder of us from our homeland
May Allah ﷻ have mercy upon the Muslims who died resisting oppression

@Gaz Smith you didn't resisted Islam ,you were left to be on your faith wheather in Islamic Spain or ottaman Greek or Armenia proof if we had done like you did in Spain , Caucasus, South Russia you and your faith wouldn't have existed for 700 years
Regards crusades be honest do you say that you belong to those people who toppled civilizations for indulgences by Pope, ate human flesh, gave blankets filled with diseases to American people, kept whole population in Libya in barracks for years, colonised the whole world , created israhell in our lands
Then I m sorry my friend you need to retrospect
Regards can't we move on so we have moved on but itz you who still live in shadow of crusades even after saying goodbye to religion of Paul proof see what you did to Iraq,Syria middle East
Move on get out of there leave our lands stop supporting israhell a terrorist state ,

I am Circassian as well, my family has been in Turkey for about 4-5 generations and lives in Germany now. It’s a shame but I never really heard much about Imam Shamil and am fascinated by this lecture. Great thanks to the Shaykh and all the CMC staff for their work!

    Assalam alaykum.
My ancestor was a man who joined the movement of Imam Shamil in 1840 and he became the chief of artillery in Shamil's imamate.
We must study and make comparisons in which the great people of Islam united warring tribes and peoples under one name, under the name of their religion.
Imam Shamil created the state in a war. He united in the name of Islam, tribes and peoples that have never been part of one state.
It’ great to see the deepest analysis and presentation on this topic given by Abdul Hakim Murad.
    Thanks for the great lecture!

@J M I believe Yusuf (as) mentioned his competencies and capabilities. However its a good example that people of leadership also cant shy/hermit away.
Also if you take leadership by force its ugly, you compel people who do not want to be led. I believe a Shurah (collective) should select actual leadership. That Shurah in itself is composed of people who can faithfully administer the role of Wasi/Khadim or Trustee.
There is a problem in our contexts that few people know or can deliver to competencies required of trustee so therefore the leadership is off too.

Teuku Umar United Acheh Muslim to fight against the infidel until he lost his life in the battle. His wife Chut Nyat Dien continued the battle for another 30 years until she captured by the Dutch. Just looking at the face of Dr Abdal Hakim you can see in the eyes realising and finding pure emaan is a very deep struggle of the soul and heart. Tasting the sweetness of faith comes after deep striving of the ajam. With pagan Arabs they were able to control their hearts in such away with ease they tasted sweetness of faith and were able to do literally as the prophet peace be upon him prescribed upon his companions from the Quran. I know of many non Arab Muslims dying without tasting the sweetness of Emaan which brings the heart tranquility. Even Umar ibn khataab radiyallahi anhu reminded his companions the sahaba to take care of the a’raab Bedouin Arabs as they were the raw material for Islam. Some prominent Muslim scholars said if the Quran was not revealed in the Arabic language the Arabs may not have accepted Islam

Islam stands apart from ideology in leadership not being for itself and realizing all people take some sort of charge or influence beyond themselves.
It also stands apart in its laws from the tribal and externally influenced laws and in that Shariyat Ullah is mostly never enforced on others.
Humans being given delegative, rather than legislative law, distinguishes it from what is usually deemed as theocracies.
It is important in its rejection of what is termed Holy War or mere Vengeance War, it affirms the drives and has a long game.

Imam Shamil also allowed hostage Russian soldiers to pray in old churches in Dagestan. He never forced anyone to be Muslim but rather showed them the beauty of Islam and MANY of them stayed with him and helped him. The Russians at the time still had slavery , they in slaves their own people and it was Caucasians and Imam Shamil that showed the people what freedom really means , Russian Tsar broke that law and freed everyone after what Imam Shamil showed them simply by being a Muslim. He shaped Russian history too.

They were referring here to rabid black dogs known in the desert that were know to attack and kill people/travellers .. is it permissable to kill them
In the Hadith it's explained: they are affected by negative impulses and doing bad deeds of shaytan , so we're allowed to kill them for protection .. but not allowed to do so over level of necessity

Hadeeth related to man chasing after a pigeon .. context was probably related to theft
The man acting like a Shaytan and following "his shaytan" temptation, his prized pigeon in his case

Hadeeths relating to Marriage with Aisha narrates that:
They completed their marriage when she was 9, after insistence of her father Abu Baker (peace be upon all of them)
      - That was the normal marriage tradition of everyone at that time in Arabia. Everyone pagans and Muslims, Christians, Jews that lived in Arabia at that time married when daughters reached 9 years, and sons 14 years
People in the desert back then had stringer bodies, grew much faster mentally and physically, had a much harder life, and much shorter life span average (around 30-35 average)
      All these marriages happened publicly,
Even chieftains of Jews, pagans of mecca and prophet Muhammad's daughters (peace be upon him and his family) married at 9, 10 or 12 years ..
All of These are known historical facts that were the common norm in many places and kingdoms in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia untill 300 years ago.
Life and maturity levels were much different before 1879 and industrial revolution

      You're obviously Ignorant and deluded,
May Allah cleanse your ego/Nafs, and guide you to the heart of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) with his utmost mercy, Ameen
