    You do some really good reviews, not sure why this channel isn't getting hundreds of thousands of views. Good stuff as usual. You need to do the new X3

    • @FamilyWheels

      I'm working on it! Spread the gospel for us, would you?! I'm going to see what I can do about the X3. Stay tuned.

    The Mercedes shifter is counterintuitive and works differently than just about every other shifter on the market. It's as bad as Lincoln putting shift buttons where everyone else has radio controls. A few years ago someone drove in front of the train because they had a new MB and shifted into drive instead of reverse still being used to their old car with a conventional shift pattern in a stressful situation.

    FINALLY! They brought back the "REST" feature. My first 3 Benz's all had that feature, then my 2012 GLK , no REST button?!?! I love that button.

    It does have both..Android Auto and Apple Carplay

  • @trentdodson734

    Apple Carplay and Android Auto are actually offered. It is called the smartphone integration package for $350.

      Triple checked on this one, Trent. It appears it's a US option but not for the Canadian market.

      For a vehicle that price it should be standard

    Hmmm...your review of the GLC has swayed my initial opinion. Most shocking of all: No Apple Carplay OR Android Auto??? Whoa! That said, I had the opportunity to sit in one of these gorgeous suv's at recent auto shows, and it is one of the nicest vehicles to get in and out of. Also, the quality of the interior is fabulous! On the other hand, the fact that it doesn't automatically go into park when you switch it off has been echoed by more than one reviewer - not a good quirk. Overall, if someone left one for me outside where I live, I wouldn't at all say no! But....I will also say...once again, Audi is calling louder.... 🙄 Keep up the fine in depth reviews, Paul! 😀

      I recently purchased a 2019 and my car has Android play. Some of his notes were off and not consistent to my vehicle. Maybe cars in the US are different from Canada. 🤷🏾‍♀️

      @@taramells73 Vehicles sold in the US and Canada do differ. Lucky you for having Android Auto in yours. 🙂

      @@michaeldavis5486 Android Auto and Apple Carplay is available as an option. It is called the Smartphone Integration option package. However, it is not available along with the Multimedia package, which provides the navigation system with the Sirius XM traffic and weather.

    I love ventilating seats, and is why I’d always get leather. Vinyl or imitation leather doesn’t breath, and makes things sticky.

    • @FamilyWheels
      @FamilyWheels  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These seats still have the perforations to help with breathability so that should help a lot.

  • @Trades46
    @Trades46 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is a solid luxurious choice - no wonder it is very popular around these parts in Canada. The GLC 300 however just doesn't feel very special to my taste - perhaps it is too common? I still prefer the XC60 or F-pace over this.

  • @nateisright
    @nateisright 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    No Apple CarPlay in Canada? It’s an option here in the US. I wonder why the difference.

    • @FamilyWheels
      @FamilyWheels  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I triple-checked on this fact. Interesting though that you can get it south of the border. For a lot of people, this is a real deal breaker.

      I also hate where they put that lever. Way too back on the "central hump". That's exactly where my pitbull mix puts his head when he rides up front.. and while that sounds stupid, it's one of the main reasons why I'm gonna pick up a BMW 328xi later today and not a C300 4Matic.

      They have MBUX now starting in the A Class. This GLC will be facelifted next year only. MBUX is way better than idrive. Also, idrive also has a turning knob like this one. People who use this system daily find it perfectly intuitive. It is their older system because the GLC is almost 4 years old but it works.
