I can also add ALL extras - more than I could with the Q5 or X3. Just hopping they come up with an updated infotainment before I order.

She talks about the X3 having better handling through corners. I wonder if she had the dynamic control set on "sport" or "comfort"? We own this car and find the sport mode to be quite good with handling, considering it is an SUV. It's shocking that the UK is only given these lower HP engines. In the US, we only have the 241 HP gasoline engine.
Is it cold there in April or was this recorded earlier in the year? It is about 80 degrees and mostly cloudy here today. Watch it Garmin's world headquarters is in my home town.
Good Lord I can hear/see her do reviews all the time!! Funny enough, we'll be picking up our GLC300 4matic this weekend. Really hope I can use the old GLK winter tire setup on the new car. Those front brake calipers have grown in size compared to last years model... I'm running 17's for the winter. I might have to go up to 18's for the winter to clear those big brake calipers

Sorry Rebecca, but how comes that all other car journalists rated it above the x3 and the Discovery... for the gearbox, interior, exterior, space, comfort, consumption(except the price. tag).... and you don't. It reminds me of Sarah Palin and her: 97% of scientists have no clue on climate changes.

Nice colour, just a shame about what it's wrapped round! Not an SUV fan. Most are excessively heavy with a high centre of gravity, hardly the best combination for on-road driving. If you have need to go off-road or do a lot of towing then I see the point of a Land Rover or Landcruiser etc. For me Mercedes exterior styling has far too much going on these days - typically badly proportioned and with fussy detailing - lots of unnecessary lines and creases. This, to be fair, is better than some of late. Merc interiors also have too much of the bling factor - all that chrome and silver purporting to convey luxury. Great air vents though! Meanwhile, I'm glad to see this week's banana looks in better shape!
That display on the dash just looks hideous & would irritate the crap out of me. Mercedes should go to VW and learn how to integrate a touch screen display into the dashboard.
Everybody really needs to copy the screen placement in the Audi TT. I really hate the plunked on looking screen mercedes and BMW are doing. At the very least put it where the radio used to be on older cars.
The car that made me realise that so many modern cars are boring. When I saw it, I felt absolutely nothing. You just know that it had to be made for financial and marketing purposes, and that there was absolutely no passion or creativity involved in the development. Just ticking boxes until the car was good enough for production. Dreadful.

Firemarioflower The GLK isn't very good from what I've heard, but indeed it's at least memorable. That accounts for something. Personally, I can't care for the Q5 either, but I guess that's a matter of taste. At least Audi wasn't as late to the party as Mercedes was.
The X1 doesn't look anywhere as good as the GLC, not sure how can be the segment leader given that the GLC is competent in all fronts and very relaxing quiet ride. Where is the X3 better then the Disco Sport or the F-Pace? And I the Q5 is probably the sales leader. Plus there is the Macan.

I drove all three and bought the GLC. The others felt cheap inside, and that is where I spend my time. Not impressed with the Volvo X60, the center console was too high. Really liked the X90 , but it was too big.
The Bmw is bigger and better to drive. It has a smoother gearbox and a quieter engine, and also possibly smarter 4wd system, since it can send 100% of the power to one wheel if necessary, while the Merc is 40:60 split. Just because something is new, it does not make it better. Although the Merc has a nicer interior.
Dont worry a lot of women who drive these 'mid size' SUV's cant even see over the steering wheel but that doesnt stop them from buying or driving em! #schoolrunoverkill

the blind side assistance is helpful, i like the run flat tires and the power seat belts as well as heated seats and self parking features

Mercedes really should offer a 6 cylinder option on a car like this, some people want the refinement this would offer over a clattery 4 pot diesel.
