@@jpadventurephoto We have two great horn owls who come to our neighborhood in the winter and the sit and talk to each other all night. It is so cool to listen to them.
I have one perched atop my chimney calling out every evening and morning. The call fills our house from the fireplace and it’s so amazing. At first my Kids were kinda scared but once I showed them this video they now love our Barred Owl visitor.
These beautiful creatures visit me outside my bedroom window 3 feet from my face, and under my porch. It's the most amazing feeling to be trusted by one of them and their babies ❤️🦉
Just heard one so close to my front door it sounded like a monkey even tho I knew it was an owl but it was just going off I was like okaayyy what’s going on 😂
Same here, I have one and her mate outside my home at all times. They have been keeping us safe by going after snakes, including cotton mouths. They are just wonderful creatures.
I live in a village on the edge of a mid sized city in NY, and I had never heard an owl in my life. My parents had heard some here once or twice but that was it. Several years ago I was out for a walk after it just got dark and a Great Horned Owl flew down to me and landed on a branch that was level with my head! It towered over me, it was a huuuge owl. We just looked at each other in the eyes for what must have been a good five minutes. Most amazing experience ever. This past spring a Barred Owl started coming to the pine trees behind my house! It's so loud she wakes everyone up. She's been coming every once in a while and it's the most amazing thing. I have gone out and followed her calls around but have never gotten to see her fly to another tree 🤷🏻♂️
@@Lugh444 we once had a Great Horned owl come into our animal shelter after the DNR next county over picked up a stunned one on the side of the road after being hit by a car. This was in northeast Iowa when I was in college. They showed him to us so we could decide how best to care for him until the vet tech could assess him and call someone better equipped to handle him. They lifted the lid on the tub he was in and that guy swiveled that head right around and I swear those eyes started straight into my soul. Once we had a kennel set up and it was time to move him, I was the only one brave enough to do so. I put on the bite gloves to protect against his talons, but I wouldn’t have needed them. He trusted me for some reason. I held his feet and then gently lifted and cradled the wing we thought might have been broken and he had no problems with me touching him. A giant, wild, powerful hunting machine with knives on his feet and scissors on his face!! He ended up being fine. He was really only stunned. We gave him some water and let him rest for a while. We got him out in the tech’s room. He stretched his wings and the air movement from that action! Ohhh my the power!! I’ll never forget that day.
omg! I’m in my room, and I hear these sounds and I get freaked out because I’ve never heard anything like it before in my area and I realized it could be an owl!
10 years on my back yard hearing this sounds sometimes up to 5 owls at the same time awesome nature I have I let you know that all the time where the pandemic was on its pick they didn't showed up at all like they knew what was going on now they back after 4 years on not hearing about them im happy to have them back.
Dude i heard this at 3am coming from the woods outside and it scares the hell out ofnme sense id never heard any owl like this before 😭 i listented to it for about 10 mins trying to figure out what it was until i realised it reminded me of an owl and sure nspugh 😅
My favorite owls. We hear them very frequently around my house, oftentimes as early as 3 or 4 pm, or even around noon! They arent exactly picky on when they call and when theyre active. I love it when you can hear multiple all chattering and hooting at once in one big, loud group
when a bunch of these start going at it its unreal the clamorous sounds they can make and very loud. These are their normal peaceful sounds but when they let loose its a whole different thing. i'm looking forward to listening to them this summer here in the mountains. Also the bats are fun to watch.
We have a few that live on/around our property. They’ll sit on the fence right outside our bedroom window sometimes. It was the coolest thing to see and hear when we first moved out to the country. ❤
I love the trill at the end of their call
It is pretty cool!
It almost sounds slightly autotuned if you listen closely
That's a female Barred Owl. The females are the ones with the tremolo at the end.
That implies it is a female
@@historywatchdog2923 Agreed indeed
Ah, one of my favorite nighttime sounds. Beautiful.
I'm listening to "my" Barred Owl right now. He's been calling for about an hour. It's 2:57 am.
@@Armistead_MacSkyeman i cant sleep😂
"Who cooks for you, who cooks for you all?" Is the phrase commonly said to sound like the Barred Owl call.
@@macandcheese4444
_"Oh! It's that m ad kid again. Just return a hoot and he'll shut up."_
~Dat Owl (probably)
The females got the real southern drawl with the “yaaaaaalllllll” at the end
I was about to write that, lmao..
😂😂😂 That's so cool! ❤
It’s exactly what the White Winged Dove says too, Who cooks for youuu ?
How wonderful to hear the owls communicating with each other.
It is pretty neat to listen to them!

That’s the cutest owl I’ve ever seen
What a beautiful creature !
He almost hypnotized me and his face stayed disturbingly still when he looked into the camera.
Same exact thing I was thinking. Scared the crap out of me!!!
She. This is a female Barred Owl.
Bro just about hypnotized himself too…
@@historywatchdog2923why does it matter
Its so fitting that the Pokemon Noctowl is ghost move affiliated with Hypnosis and stuff^^ perfectly depictured
I have been hearing this exact sound out my window for a while. Lol I can't believe I just identified it. Very cool. Thanks

I'm hearing it faintly too! Coming from the forest at 1am. It was a little spooky at first but now it's cool to listen to
Same! I thought it was a fox but apparently it’s this type of owl
These beautiful creatures visit me outside my bedroom window 3 feet from my face, and under my porch. It's the most amazing feeling to be trusted by one of them and their babies ❤️🦉
I love how she uses her whole body to call!
Awwww they so cuuuute!!!!
I literally just heard one of these outside & immediately went to TH-cam to find out exactly what was making that sound 👍
Me too 😮
Yup! Just did the same thing 😂 glad that it was just owls !!
i came here wondering the same now i know what makes all that noise outside my window.
Same here
She's a cutie. Love the tremolo at the end!
Ноты вытягивает 😁
It's like it swallowed an autotune machine
So pretty
Coolest and weirdest thing to hear while walking in the woods

I'm from N.C. and I hear this sound every morning in my backyard in summer and always wondered what it was. Beautiful bird !!

I miss them so much. Where I moved to, there are no owls to sing to me at night.
😯
Hopefully some move into your area soon. They are amazing creatures!
Its almost guaranteed there are Owls near you! Research which ones live near you and learn their calls!

I love the babies in the background calling as well. One of my favorite species!
Mine too!
The screeching is the babies?
@@aipsyko, at 0:06, you can hear some other owl returning/imitating the hoot. I'm not sure if that's the babies.
The screeching is the young barred owls.
The other adult Barred Owl calling in the background was an owl from another pair.
👍🏼 Great image/audio/edit!
Thanks! 👍
Owls are so beautiful ❤️
