That car belonged to Ted! My father in laws best friend who passed away a while back. They lived just a few houses down from Ted on Arrasmith. Loved him and that old Malibu. Take care of 'er! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He did quite the job putting it together! I'm glad we were able to save it, we had to get into a bidding match to save it from someone who wanted to cut the engine out and put it in the Vega. I think It belongs in the Malibu, that's what he wanted!
I saved a guy last week stranded in a toyota dolphin camper with what I learned from you about dieseling. Had never touched a carb before. Pretty sweet putting that knowledge to work.
Kevin was at an event in Michigan with it recently! Unfortunately I live like 6 hours away... and have a 4-year-old and a wife, neither of which would do well on a 12-hour journey to see the Possum Van. ☹️
New idea!!! Kevin buy’s a car.. Angus buys a drivetrain… without telling them what it is... then meet up for the big reveal AND! put said drivetrain into car!!
I picture them both buying something small and off the wall thinking its going to be hilarious only to find out the parts and the car fit together perfectly
Hey Kevin huge fan here, I'm glad I get to see one of your videos, hurricane hellen devastated my town but I am glad I get to see a video from you, I'm 13 and I work on older cars growing with my dad and I have my own 1978 f150 custom, with a 400 with a new engine rebuild and cam and is supposed to be signed in to my name when I turn 16
Kevin, Mook, and Angus. Thank you all for teaching me so much over all your videos. I've learned so much from you guys over the course of the years that I've been able to maintain my 2018 Jetta without spending thousands of dollars on labor charges that I wouldn't have been able to afford anyways. Back in the 80s I drove a '68 Bel Air Wagon with a 327 that my parents got from an old lady for 75 bucks. I used to beat GT Mustangs with it. Of course that wasn't the era of 700+ hp with A/C and a factory warranty either. 🤣
Congratulations, Kevin & Mook. Hopefully, Mook will be coming out with some new videos,I sure hope that she does because it's been awhile since she's had any videos out
@MicroSoftner that's why I started watching because of Mook, wish she would have new videos out especially about the burnt Nova because she's got the engine & transmission for it & after part 3 they stopped making more videos about the burnt Nova

@@GetOffMyLog Poland, we have some cars like this available, but yea... They aren't cheap. The ones that need full rebuild costs like 8k$. Congratulations to you (Kevin) and Mook. Been looking forward to hearing that the wedding was coming since the proposal. Take some time, have fun, and i hope you show us a pic or two when you come back!
Love the Malibu wagon! My extremely long term project car is an `83 Malibu wagon. It's a solid car, no wrecks or rust. I started life with a 305. I don't remember when I started working on it but it was long enough ago that LS engines were not a swap option either because they hadn't been introduced or was too new to be available used. So I went with what seemed like a good option at the time, an LT1/T56 combo from a `95 Z28. I worked on it off an on over the years, put a lot of good parts on, paid for some work. and it is driveable now. Still needs some finishing. Some missteps along the way that need to be corrected. But I'm out of energy for now. I'll eventually "finish" it but I don't have the energy now.
Thanks for squeezing in making a video before your wedding mate. Congratulations to you and Mook from the Australian side of the world and hope you both get some some decent downtime together away from your busy schedules.
If you’re keeping that car ditch the 4 speed and get a TKO500 or TKO600. Yes they are a little pricy but paired with 3.55 gear it makes the car launch as if it had 4.11s but also has a 5th gear and will drop you down to about 2100-2200 rpm at 70 mph. A world class T5 would suffice as well and be cheaper but is limited in strength. I went from a th400 and 4.11s in my 69 cutlass to the tko600 3.55 post and not only is my car significantly quicker but also less highway rpm and about 4mpg better fuel mileage. Makes for a wonderful and very fun daily driver.
I went from a 2:72 rear end in my 73 Mach1, to a 3:83 truck rear end, with bigger axles! The power difference was incredible, and made the power band spot on, on the K-code 289 I swapped in!
In the mid nineties a friend of mine had a 4 door eighties Malibu, faded and dull blue paint and steel rims, with a 327 Corvette engine in it. Gave quite a few guys a wake up call at the lights 😊 Thanks for another excellent video, really enjoyed this one 👍👌
