I've watched a lot of your videos lately, you seem to be one of very few who actually knows what they are talking about when it comes to GTM/GA4 config and you're well able to explain it, very forthright. I would consider you to be a foremost authority and unrivaled expert on this topic! Fair dues and keep up the incredible work.
Thanks for another video! Always great to learn from you Julius!
I normally don't comment on TH-cam videos, but I wanted to express my appreciation for this incredibly helpful video. I've been searching for this information for a while, and stumbled upon your website first, and then your TH-cam channel. I've subscribed already and I'm looking forward to watching more of your content.
Thanks for sharing this knowledge, helped me configure my GA4 from UA tags for our reporting ...
_Awesome and highly useful video._
Awesome and highly useful video. I really appreciate your efforts from the bottom of my heart.😊😊
Thank you so much for this useful video. This is super awesome !!!!!
Amazing video!! I will use it as a reference. Thx
Hello Julius. For your menu click event, you use the link_url and link_text parameters that are recommended for several of the Enhanced Measurement events in order to reuse known/recommended parameters as Google suggests. You show an Explorer report where you pull the data for link_url and link_text. However, what is the solution for using standard reports with events including the Enhanced Measurement events? If you go to the Events report and click on "click" or "file_download" those reports do not provide any of the recommended parameters so you have no details about any of these standard events.
When you were preparing your Explore report, there were two custom dimensions: "Link text custom dimension" and "Link URL custom dimension". Are those custom definitions based on "link_text" and "link_url" respectively? If you set up those custom definitions do the standard link_text and link_url still get data and could be used independently or is the data only available in the custom dimensions once you create them? Did you create those custom dimension parameters in order to get the data into standard reports or some other reason?
Thank you for your help and videos.
I find your videos really useful so thank you - I am just being picky but I noticed you talk about first_session (1:20) as an event...should that not be first_visit?
genius man
Hey Julius! I love your content and learn so much on daily basis. Are you planning on making a video about cookie consent settings and how to use it? That would be incredibly useful. Thanks!
No. That is explained in my GTM course for beginners www.analyticsmania.com/courses/google-tag-manager-course-for-beginners/
@@AnalyticsMania Is there any way to know the gclid and timing of the click with the help of GTM and GA4?? so we can upload that gclid back to Google ads as an offline conversion, so we don't have to invest in some expensive tracking software.... Thanks in Advance.
Great video! I’m not having luck getting my custom events to show up in GA4 after I create them in Tag manager, it’s been a week. Any tips to correct? I have checked to make sure measurement is the same. Thanks!
Would love to see a video explaining how to get the most value out of the new item-scoped custom dimensions!
Item-scoped custom dimensions are explained in my ga4 course www.analyticsmania.com/courses/google-analytics-4-course/
Can I ask quick question on the GTM tag "GA 4 config" the code you inserted on the Shopify site--- was it the GTAG and then inside that the GA4 Javascript code? I get confused on which code goes where? I'm new to this so if I misinterpreted, my bad
External website data has started appearing in my GA results. I have no idea why as I've never dealt with these websites, they seem to be financially related and foreign which I assume is spam. How can I exclude them from my results as it's skewing everything. Thanks
If we have a Google tag, but for some reason can't find the account associated to it, how can we add that same tag to an existing GTM account container we do have access to?
And second question if I input GTAG will google analytics pick up/register the GTAG.
Hi ! I have issues with my customs events/conversions : basically i track phone callss or emails or forms and I apply em a value and a currency on GTM. but this values are not shown on GA4 a a total revenue.
It seems that it applies only if the event/conversion is "purchase".
I tried also to directly apply in the parameters/data display/conversions in "define a default conversion value". So i see here this conversion value, but it s not displayed in the reports as monetization or total revenues... Could you help please ?
Use event value dimension
@@AnalyticsMania i did that but i have all the events and can not choose what event i want : it takes all the values and not the "money" value only that interests me, aka the values with a currency
Is it possible to filter the event tracking? Example, I want a list of only events starting with the word "lead". - This way I can reduce the mess and get a good overview of where i generate most leads. E.g. 1. lead_form_submit 2. lead_contact_phone 3. lead_contact_email.
Is this possible?
Only in explorations at the moment
Or create a custom dimension for the event name and use that in the filter
Is there a limit to how many modified events or is it unlimited ?
50 rules per property
@@AnalyticsMania Is there a way to make them even more like how tag manager modify events and create ones but for only websites how to tackle this with apps in ios and android?
