That was so fast.. I'll save and break down into little chunks. In lockdown I followed Ninja advice obsessively to recreate my website and I'm now run off my feet with clients! From the moment lockdown ended it was like a race gate opened, it's not let up much since.... there needs to be two of me!!! I really admire your model, you give so much advice to those with no budget to hire anyone to fix things for them. Yet, if you are willing to put in the effort following your advice then small businesses and sole traders with zero promotional revenue can reap massive rewards. That is pretty awesome in this day and age. I rank #8 to # 12 in Google for my main USP. I've taken clients from over a hundred and fifty miles away just to get their nails done!
Glad it was helpful! We know GA4 is very technical and can be difficult for people to understand even if they have a lot of experience with Universal Analytics - Jess
Thanks for the walkthrough. Amazing as always. Is it possible to use GA4 to see my overall social media performance instead of looking into in each platform's analytics. I wonder if that's possible.
Very nice video. Quick question though. The opposite of engagement rate isn't bouce. Bounce in UA was measured by users who landed on the site and didn't take any other actions (regardless of time) so if someone engaged in the site because they were 30 seconds in it, but they didn't do anything other than read and leave the site, that would have been a bounce count. The way I look at Bounce is in the path exploration.
Yes, you're right - it's not a direct opposite in that you could feasibly have a high bounce rate despite keeping visitors engaged. Engagement rate is a far more useful metric to tell the story that most used bounce rate for
That was very informative. I will slow the playback speed a bit since there is so much info covered. Also would appreciate no background music since it's distracting to me. Other than that, I subbed and will refer to your video regularly. Thank you!
I just found this vid and your channel. I am trying to setup an exploration using your example and when i try to add Transactions it is greyed out with popup message that says "Incompatible with currently applied dimensions and metrics." Dimensions are Device Category and metrics are Active Users and Purchase Revenue. any thoughts?
I need to know which paid keywords went on to my contact/inquiry page, and also from which country. Used to be a breeze with content drilldown. Help appreciated!
I'd really love to learn from you but I'm afraid the background music/noise is just too intrusive and i can't easily hear what you are saying. Just thought I'd mention as friendly feedback is often worthwhile. thanks.
Not a bad tool by any means - but it's almost entirely built with e-commerce in mind. It's incredibly frustrating to lose simplicity of searching by URL path for individual pages/categories, and by god I'm gonna miss content grouping. I understand the shift, but I'm still in two very conflicted minds...
It looks like this guide needs to be updated (already!).. The free-form report doesn't work as you've described.. Default Channel Grouping appears to have been changed to Default Channel Group and this doesn't return any data
Yeah, that confused me too. If you go into the "Select dimensions" screen, scroll down to "traffic sources" instead of "attribution" and you'll find "first user channel default group" and "session default channel group" and I think those are the alternatives.
@@ExposureNinja Same here. After removing "cities" from the Rows box, I was left with a table that just had one row with a blank row label and a grand total number. Fine so far. I then added "Default channel grouping" to the dimensions and then dragged and dropped it into the Rows box and the complete table disappeared with the message "No data for this combination of segments, values, filters, and date range. Try editing the variable or settings or remove them"

I love your videos, I wish you would reupload this one without the music. Can't hear you. Thank you for doing these. They are a great help.
I don't even care about learning GA4, but the thumbnail was TOO GOOD!

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I learn something new about GA4 every day :D
Great Video! I like how you get right to the essentials of how to use GA4 with easy to understand examples!
Glad it was helpful! We know GA4 is very technical and can be difficult for people to understand even if they have a lot of experience with Universal Analytics - Jess
Straight to the point - focus on the essentials - Thanks Tim !

Super helpful video, I learned a lot, thank you so much!
Thank you so much this video explained it perfectly !
This was so helpful, thank you!!!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much!

Great video, exactly the intro I needed to GA4!
цікава та корисна інформація, дуже вдячний за таке круте відео
наше задоволення!
Why I don't see that configure hub in my GA4 is it only for GA 360?
MaShaAllah great video
Good one. But you miss the all last click thing when you measure per channel. Paid social mostly get you first click but lose on last click
In setting up GA4 from scratch ad an admin, why would I not see Life Cycle Acquisition, Engagement and monetisation options in the menu from Reports?
Great video Thanks, wondering why when trying to add the Ecommerce Revenue Metric all are greyed out except "Product Revenue"
I'm having the same issue. Any ideas why?
Nice. Is there a tool to upload annotations from Universal to GA4?
Awesome video as usual! Which by the way, how do you edit your videos? Descript, Premeir Pro, etc.? Nice transitions.
Thanks, good video mate

This is something we've improved on a lot since this video!

I don't have the "configure" button??? How do I make it appear?
Add to my knowledge about Analytics Thanks. Is there a solution to migrate old UA annotation data to new Google analytics 4?
So helpful and much easier to get then those vids made by google.
Glad it's useful :)
thank you, is really cool how you explain things. Regards from Panamá
Awesome vid! short, clear and efficient!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome, thank you 👍
how to use google analytics to find latest updates urls for particular keyword?
this was fantastic.

Dis gun be good
first warning to not be overwhelmed, then dive into the multi-dimension exploration reports :)
Very helpful
quite helpful
Glad you think so!
good work
Thanks
Default channel group doesn't show anything
How do you mean?

I have the same problem. I have a Shopify store. Any suggestions?
Trust me super easy
Why the music? Distracting
Exactly. It is way too loud and distracts from an otherwise good video. And hearing-impaired people are also left out.
Tried to stick with this but it's frustrating with the music battling with what you're saying.
Sorry buddy
Great guide and information but dam you need to stop that nauseating camera movement. 🤢
We've reduced it in more recent videos - thank you for the heads up
I was just about to comment this. WOW it's annoying. The content is good, but the video is unwatchable like that
your camera shake is disorienting. it could be more subtle. or removed. Thanks for the video!
Noted!
So glad you have annoying music as loud as your voice in the background 3:00
Too shaky, great content though!
you look like Chael Sonnen lol
Not sure why are you pestering your audience with the background music (noise). I switched to another video, sorry.
No worries
