If you are working with Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or other analytics/marketing tracking tools, Google Tag Manager is a must. It lets you manage tracking codes much faster and easier.
If you are not sure how or where to get started, this Google Tag Manager tutorial is exactly what you need. In this 1.5-hour video, I'll show you how to:
- Create your first container
- Create your first tags in GTM (we'll use Google Analytics 4)
- How to make sure that your setup works properly
- And how to publish those changes (so that Google Analytics would start measuring your website traffic).

Good Luck, The Devs are not usually Lazy however sometimes work on different projects simultaneously so the priorities get re-organised. Sometimes the lives get in the way, or as you said can be Lazy.
GTM is a good way to start taking care of things on our own.

Many thanks for the video. But I am facing a issue which you might not mention, that is I don't see the GTM tag option in g-ads conversion Tag Setting part. So that I couldn't get the conversion ID and conversion labal. Please help to advise. Thanks!

I was having issues with setting up my conversions. I created a click conversion in google ads, but it continues to be “unverified” and isn’t picked up when I use the troubleshoot version.
However, when I debug the page with google tag manager, the conversion is showing up on the left. I see “element click, conversion, link click” in the events. However, google ads doesn’t seem to pick up the conversion, just GTM. Any input would be appreciated.
Ou, there can be a few issues based on the information you have provided.
1. Check if the Tag is firing on the trigger - In the debug view, click on the dataLayer event on the left side, and then check if the Google Ads conversion tag has fired under the tags section.
2. Check if the Google Ads Conversion IDs and Conversion Label are correct.

Awesome video - you've been my virtual teacher helping me learn how to do this!! Question, does the GTM code need to be installed on EVERY single page of the website?
I think that is my problem. It shows the tags fired when I check "container loaded" but once I click on another page, it says "history change" and it does not show a new page or that a tags were fired...
Yes, the GTM Code has to be placed on every page of the website. If you are seeing history change (URL is updated but the page is not refreshed) events, that implies the page is built using Single Page Applications such as ReactJs or NextJs, etc. You can watch some other videos on "Tracking events on SPA" or create a new History Change trigger and add that trigger with ALL PAGES tag.
GA4 by default tracks all the History change events.

I use GTM tag to get information on page view the triggrt is All pages. I would expect the number of this event to be similar to the number of page views. There is a uge difference and I would like to know why?

I have an issue with analytics, it looks differently from yours.
I don't have reports, explore, advertising and configure tabs.
I have reports with realtime, audience, acquisition, behavior and conversions. At the bottom I have attribution, discover and admin.
how can I enable view like yours or mine is fine?
You are looking at old analytics. Create a new property to have Google Analytics 4

Add GTM code to all pages. Then create a GA4 tag in GTM, then fire it on all pages.
@Analytics Mania - Google Tag Manager & Analytics What if I first had GA4 and post it on website and made Google Tag Manager later. Do I still need to import my GA4 to TGM and trigger it? Wouldn't there be 2 GA4 codes triggering on my website?
