Rotor replacement (Front) - Camaro SS 1LE

- How to change the rotor on your Camaro SS 1LE.
Replacing a girodisc or OEM rotor ring with a new girodisc rotor ring. All parts were ordered from KNSbrakes.com. This installation uses the OEM hats that come with the car. If you are using the girodisc hats you need to follow their instructions.
Parts purchased:
2 x Rotor rings
2 x Hardware
Tools needed:
Torque wrench
Size 18 socket
Size 13 socket
Size H5 allen (Rotor ring)
Size 7 socket (Rotor ring)
Torx T30 (rotor screw)
Punch
Hammer
Locktite
Antiseize
Torque:
Caliper bolts -
First pass: 111ft.lbs
Final pass: 15-30 degrees according to GM
* I used 148 ft.lbs
Rotor hardware: 110 IN LBS (Inch no ft)
Great video! What was the paste you put on the wheel hub before putting the rotor on?
Just a little bit of antiseize to keep the rust down.
Very good video. I end up doing annual ring changes. Did you torque the nuts in a star pattern? This is recommend and seems to have good results. I also due a light first torque pass and then the final torque.
I've done 2 now, and I didn't star pattern either one. I just go around once with the makita then finish off with the torque. I make sure I mark them and check before every trackday. Nothing has moved on me yet but maybe a better idea to star it.
So you can use factory top hats with the girodisk replacement ring?
Kind of, girodisc offers 2 different rings. One for their hat and one for oem. Have to get the right one.
