Pro-Palestinian students call for Israeli historian to be removed

- Israeli historian Benny Morris was heckled by students at The London School of Economics (LSE) as he gave a lecture about the Israeli-Palestinian crisis earlier this week. The appearance of the radical Israeli historian, who was once jailed for refusing to do military service in the West Bank, caused emotions to boil over for comments he has made in the past in which he has referred to Palestinians as the 'fifth column' and 'wild animals'. In a heated exchange, footage shows students standing and shouting angrily in the lecture theatre at Mr Morris saying 'we do not want you here' and 'racism off our campus'. One female student quotes comments made by Mr Morris in a 2004 interview in which he called Palestine the 'fifth column' and Israeli-Arabs 'a time bomb'. #israel #hamas #gaza

However rude you feel the actions of these students are, the protest didn’t result in a single dead child. I am also skeptical that this particular Israeli historian is able to give an impartial rendering of the history of Israel, given the excerpts of what he has written as read by the students.
But Palestine's history isn't exactly free of the blood of innocents either, is it?

The narrative that Israel has concocted is quickly falling apart. There were no 40 beheaded babies as they claimed but they themselves have killed a lot more babies in the thousands and counting.

Benny Morris is the world's leading historian on the topic for a reason. Even if it's actually true that he's racist, it wouldn't matter because his research, papers, and books are based on telling the historical account as close as possible to how it actually happened. That's why he's been respected by both sides and has said things that extremists on both sides hated. Authors like Ilan Pappe and Norm Finkelstein on the other hand have been thoroughly discredited in the academic world in previous decades because their work falls apart during close examination and exhibit different manner of falsehoods.
