After seeing what they did to that young German lady that they paraded through the streets, all I have is disgust for Gazans. These protesting students need to be shown the videos from Oct 7 and then if they still support Hamas then they don't deserve to reside in a western country. I thought that at the hearing, the Columbia President clarified that the professor was fired mid semester, so needed to finish the semester’s work, then would not be returning. Curious how admin will handle these other creepy faculty members, who apparently were waiting for their chance to demean these students.

My religious upbringing and morality align me with Palestinian freedom. Israel has been harming Palestinians brutally and violently since before it was granted status as a nation state. These students have some valid criticisms of the dynamics of the protests and encampments, but they’re clearly indoctrinated into a single narrative lacking historical context and nuance.
I’ve not heard a single student criticize the fact that Netanyahu supports Hamas with vast sums of $, as a tactic to prevent a two state solution. They’ve not spoken against the domicide, ecocide, and genocide occurring on Gaza.

This is truly sad. I understand true righteous sadness & frustration. However, to protest in the manner, the actual opposite manner they claim to behave is very frustrating. The students protesting whom need this so called humanitarian aid, well they need to get up n leave the University for these needed supplies. They do NOT have that right to expect the University to provide for them when they are far from peaceful. The University needs to change their rules regarding ANY protest on the property. The scene from 'To Kill a Mockingbird' when Scout addresses the lynch mob as individuals & disrupts the "mob mentality" is my favorite example of how some people will behave as a mob in ways they would never behave individually. Courage is not a group dynamic, but an individual virtue. Strength in numbers doesn't equal being right. Freedom of speech is a right granted to individuals to speak what they believe to be true for the purpose of persuasion & discussion, not as was described as "group think".
